Acid washed jeans or parachute pants
High top sneakers
Polo shirt (preferably Izod) with collar turned up
Members Only jacket

DH had come up with the Izod idea also. Son wanted to go buy high tops just for the occasion, but I wasn't going to waste the $$ on one day.....
Son wanted to wear one of my leather jackets, til I saw him shove his hands in the pockets and knew that he'd do that all day long and stretch them.....put the "kabosh" on that!

I guess there was more to the '80's than I thought!!!

I prefer this one...

Let me tell you, I was never so happy to see February appear on the calendar. If this is what 2008 is going to be like, I'm going back to bed and waking up when it is 2009. Let's see....

a) started a new position at work, one I thought would finally resolve my year in limbo, then the whole company imploded to the point no job is safe, so now I am working 12 hour days trying to fix a mess someone made last year knowing it is likely all for naught.

b) DS14 suffered a bad case of frostbite on his feet because he is an idiot. (Got locked out at a swim meet and walked outside in 0 degree weather with no shoes and no shirt)

c) My long-lost, presumed dead, brother apparently ran up huge debts before disappearing a few years ago, leading to nightly calls from bill collectors trying to find him, including one who claimed I was hiding him in my house that led me to have to call the sheriff's office.

d) Someone in the house had the flu just about every day in January, including DS14 getting violently ill on our way to a travel meet when we were miles from nowhere.

e) Did I mention we've been up to our ears in s*** and my snowthrower broke and since DS14 was hurt I've been having to shovel all by myself?

Anyway, enough whining. February hasn't been too bad...yet. Light at the end of the tunnel and all that.

Oh, hello, Mr. on-coming freight train.

:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: I won't list ours, but I can certainly relate!! I hope that everything and everyone is getting back to "normal".

Okay I went and did it guys! Since nobody seemed to object so I went ahead & created 8/17/08 The Kids of Captain Jack's Repossession Repo Cruise to PC thru TPC! Hope that's okay with everyone!

That's great Diane - thank you so much! Now all I have to do is get DS signed up.

Obviously I am showing my age....my oldest was born in 1982..so the '80s are just a blur for me. But I guess I did wear big long sweaters and leggings, and had the big hair.

For me...it would have been the POLO that sent me over the edge!!

OK Diane and Deanna, mine's worse.
I met DH in October 1986. What was he wearing??? A black and orange marching band uniform! :scared1:

I don't remember exactly what I was wearing, but I'm sure it involved jeans tucked in to 2-3 pairs of socks and keds.

Did you know that I'm going to be in Ohio at the end of May, first of June?
My oldest princess: is going to be a :bride: . She's getting married just south of Columbus at a place called Hocking Hills....have you heard of it?? Are you close to that?

Hocking Hills is beautiful! Where are they going to be?

Aw black & orange were our high school colors! Actually it is this town's colors too, but different town from the one I grew up in.

I loved big floppy socks, high tops, big sweaters, big earrings, and I still have big hair. Not much I can do about it, unless I cut it short or iron it. Not gonna happen either way.

But you love a man in uniform ;)

Did you do the ol' pink sock layered over green sock on right foot, and green sock layered over pink sock on left?

And remember the Wham! fingerless gloves?

Yeah, not that uniform. :lmao:
I moved on to dating football players, then came to my senses and went back to my loveable (and athletic) band geek. My friends said I was the only girl in the history of high school to date both the captain of the football team and the marching band drum major. :rotfl2:

Yes, DH was not only a band geek. He was the head band geek. Q-tip hat and everything.

I had the Wham! fingerless gloves. AND I remember saving $16 of babysitting money in about 7th grade to purchase the all-important John Taylor fedora hat! I still have the hat!

I love band geeks. My DS12 is a little band geek. Band geeks are the best.

I met Alan in Sept.'81. He had his Member's Only jacket and I was decked out in my pink and green. I still remember the day he got his black Trans Am and the day he traded it for a yellow toyota pickup truck with an ugly brown stripe...................
