We are looking to try and visit the Queen Mary when we are in California but drawing a blank regarding how to do this without hiring a car. Is there anyone that can give us ideas please. We are staying at the Grand Californian from the 15th and thought we may do this instead of visiting the parks for a change.

Bren
I think its about 40 mins by car from Disney, best maybe to do on cruise morning?

Did I read somewhere, a list of dinner themes for our trip?
I havent seen one yet, only my Navigtors from 2005, will give an idea, I think as the Westbound in May goes through we will lrean more then.

Someone on the main board has posted the 7 night Mexico ones.

Yes she is still there and they do 2 hour visits to the most haunted places on board. Know our Most Haunted team were there a while back and would like to visit. No idea how to get there though.

I am sure there is some kind of tour that would take you there from Anaheim ..

pirate:

She be down in Long Beach , I believe thats where the Spruce Goose was at one time as well ...I didnt think the QM was still there ...

pirate:

Yes, she's still there. The ship is a floating hotel now. There is a tour, but I can't remember how much is was to take the tour. Not much else down there though.

I am hoping that DCL will change the Time for Acapulco back to what it was before we sail , I would love to do the white river rafting , but as it is right now there is not enough time ...:sad2: :sad2:

I agree, but I think 1/ They will have to refuel outside Panama from 8pm previous night, outside Bilbao, and 2/they have a guaranteed early slot to transit the canal at say 6am.

Therefore as these are ''booked' they cannot afford to leave Acapulco, late, or loose time, or their guaranteed transit slot goes!

Last time they dropped a port after Acapulco, and gave us extra time in Aca instead.

Its my guess, but why not?

Last time it was Curacao, and they had an extra surprise for us, in extra fireworks. So my guess was to subsitute Aruba on that night.

It could only move to one of the sea days after Aruba, but they would not wish to travel long with fireworks on-board so they will be shipped to Aruba.

we dont leave port till 11:30 PM they cannot do fireworks in port , also Pirate night is a huge night , they wouldnt do it when half the people are off the ship ...I believe that Pirate Night will be the Night After Aruba , which would make it a sea night .....(Better for me too , more time to get ready)

This is not a true statement ...When we did the Med Repo , we left Tenerife and didnt have Pirate Night for 3 Nights After ...which means the Fireworks were on board for alot longer then you think ...and Also could have been on even longer ....So , Fireworks are NOT an issue when it comes to the planning of Pirate night and leaving a Port ..

Good points, I thought we were out of there at 8pm, but as you say it will be around that time, the next sea day, after Aruba, but last time we had it in Curacao, we started the pirate party at 9.30pm, departed during the pirate party, and had fireworks on shore and on ship just as we pulled out, say 10.30pm.

I dont think the like to travel with them for too long. So its Aruba or day after.

DCL has announced the list of themes for the WB Repo and the Mexican Riviera cruises but not for our cruise yet, though I expect we should be hearing what they are soon.

We are trying to book DH return trip ...I am pushing to have it done this week. My DD, Mom, Sis and I are driving back..ROAD TRIP! I rented the van but need to start booking to hotels.

Desiree

that's sounds like fun, a girl's cross country road trip

One of these summers I'd love to do that with my son. My parents did a lot of road trips when the kids were little. They were so much fun. And there's so much out there to see. After the movie Cars, my son really wants to see Route 66.
