8/17/08 Captain Jack's Repossession Repo Cruise to PC thru TPC #15 /Life After the PC

Haven't been around much . . . too much going on in our community because of the flood.

There are over 5,000 people still displaced from their homes. Many are beginning to receive the word that their homes have been condemned and they will not be able to get into them.

We are still waiting on word that the president has accepted the request to be declared a federal disaster area. Some rumors say that an announcement can take place as early as tomorrow. We are all keeping our fingers crossed.

There will be people displaced for months before lives can get back to normal.

:sad2: Oh my, so sorry to hear this:guilty:
Sending lots of prayers:grouphug:

Wow was it difficult to get out of bed and come to work this morning.

It is amazing the sheer amount of work I have to do between now and when they've decided they don't need me anymore. :confused3

Oh well. I have an interview today and one on Thursday. Still waiting to hear about the one last week. I think I'd love that job.

Regardless, this week will end on a happy note: I'll be slowly circling the World Showcase eating and drinking in just 96 short hours.

Throw the work in the trash. You'll be back in Alaska before they notice. :rotfl2:

and high five on the eating & drinking through World Showcase !!

Hi all! Hope everyone is doing OK. I uploaded pics to the site up to the first sea day. It's taking me forever!

Have to take a vacation day tomorrow, gotta get my brakes checked out, they are grinding. Hope the roters are still good.

The videos are great even though they made me cry! I miss you guys!

If the rumors are true about the repos in 2010, will have to look for something else to celebrate the big "5-0!"

I did find something interesting though that could change my plans to stay in Atlanta.

While we were sailing from Cartagena to Aruba, Florida Hospital in Orlando unveiled its newest plans to change its children's hospital to Disney Children's Hospital! (I always knew that I could end up working for The Mouse someday.) And they do have an open position for a pediatric pharmacist.

Decisions, decisions...

As much as I love WDW, do I really want to live in Orlando? :confused3

Go for it Kim. Orlando has nice areas and then you have instant access to the Mouse.

M have a great time at Epcot. I was toying with the idea of taking DH this week or next. Will have to see how it goes.

Cheryl, who did you have in mind to upload the videos????????:rotfl2:

I did manage to upload some food and towel animal pictures. Those are the only ones I have sorted out! I have promised family a CD of photos and haven't had time to get those copies yet. I figure I can use those to upload to smug mug. Unfortunately I can't access smug mug from work or I would try to work on it here. By the time I get home I am too exhausted. Love the photos (and videos) that have been posted so far. I have "pirated" pirate: a few photos. I wasn't able to get any good shots of the Pirates in the Carribean show or the fireworks, but others had some great shots.

Not sure what I think of the rumored summer 2010 cruises. We are considering just buying DVC instead and spread the wealth. Can't be any worst investment than our 401k right now.:lmao: Although I would love to go the Baltic or the Med. I have to think about summer 2009. I promised DD a trip for getting her teaching degree. She wants to go back to Italy...but it just might be the Italy pavillion at Epcot.:rotfl2:

Hey Everyone!

I feel so bad that I have posted over here yet. Things have been crazy since we got home. I have been keeping up with the postings but every time I think about responding, I just feel there is too much to say first.

We had a fabulous time on this cruise, one of the best we have had! A lot of that is thanks to the wonderful people that we met on this trip :grouphug:

We didn't really get the crud that everyone else seems to have gotten. I had a small bout with sinus issues on the 5 night but as soon as I got the air conditioning adjusted it was better. Along with staying in a suite, I did another thing that I've never done on a cruise before, I went to First Aid on Castaway Cay  Seems I forgot to drink enough fluids at Castaway Cay and the heat got to me. That was ok, I spent the afternoon in the room watching movies with Castaway Cay at my back :goodvibes

I'm hoping to have time in the near future to upload some of the 3000 photos I took, but right now I need to help my sister with some garden plantings before winter and 2010 dates will be released soon.

Thanks again to everyone who made this cruise special for us :goodvibes :goodvibes

Well, if you're going to point out the obvious, then I was overshadowed by most of the kids on this cruise too.

LOL

Hey, I was avoiding that point.....

Of course, as Roger's 3rd daughter, you should feel overshadowed by "Dad"
