8/17/08 Captain Jack's Repossession Repo Cruise to PC thru TPC #15 /Life After the PC

Yeah- you would think so, but no. No one knocked. I would definitely have heard if they had even knocked- forget the doorbell.

So then they all wanted her to sleep over.....

Sneaky.....

Well, given the Eagles disappointing performance today, there is only one goal left this season, beat Dallas and knock them out of the playoffs!

You know they don't deserve it. I cannot imagine they will get very far this year. Disappointing.

I feel quite sure the quiet knocking had something to do with wanting a sleepover. Good call! :thumbsup2

Ken has posted some images up on our website of what this place we call home looks like right now.

Victoria rarely sees snow and if we do - usually only lasts for a few days and then it's gone. We have over 12 inches on our deck right now and it's still snowing. According to history, we only have a 7% chance of snow for Christmas and they are already confirming that we will have a white Christmas along with all the rest of Canada for the first time since 1971.

Although beautiful pictures, I am glad I am seeing them on the screen and not my back window. :)

OK, It is now official. I am the worlds worst mother.
Last night we went to a birthday party for our next door neighbor. Kids were welcome as they have kids the girls ages too. We are a very close neighborhood where all the kids regularlly sleep over at everyone else houses.
Well. thankfully, even though next door, I chose to not drink last night.
We stayed for a few hours and the kids played upstairs and the adults watched the disastrous Cowboy game downstairs.
The kids periodically would come down for snacks but mostly stayed upstairs.
Well All of the sudden Miranda was wearing different clothes than she was when we went to the party. I asked her about it and she said she wanted something more comfortable so she went home and changed.
Well at about 10:30 Bill goes home because he had to work at church pretty early this morning (he volunteers running the AV dept). I stayed until about 11:15. Megan was downstairs and I thought Miranda had already gone home when Bill did so Megan and I went home.
The house was pitch black so I sent Megan up to her room and went to bed.
Fast forward to this morning when Bill calls me from church and says we should go out to a steak place for lunch and when he would be back to get us and go as soon as he got finished with the last service.
I go upstairs to wake up Megan and when I get to Miranda's room- she was not there! :scared1: Ok, after I run screaming for her through the house I try to mentally retrace my steps from the night before. There was no way I was calling Bill right in the middle of the service when he is in a control room with 5 other people to say "Do you know where Miranda could be?" :sad2:
The possibilites were either that Miranda was:
a) kidnapped on my frozen porch while waiting for us to let her in the night before
b) She froze on our doorstep and hungry wolves carries her away
c) One of my neigbors had realized what a deadbeat Mother I was and taken pity on Miranda and she was still there.

I throw on clothes, run next door and there is Miranda - in the same clothes as the night before, eating at the next door neighbors!! Oh yeah! Imagine how stupid I felt saying "Uh, thanks for letting my kid sleep here since we locked her out of the house last night" :sad2: Did I mention it was 25 degrees here last night?
Turns out she tried to come home and the door was locked and house all dark. She went back to the party and played until my other neighbors left and walked her home to our house. When the house was locked, they took her back to the party where they just kept her all night.
yep- Mother of the year!!!! :scared:

I shouldn't laugh! I am so glad it ended well...although I think I would have pounded on the door until you answered. Don't worry...the worst you will have to do is live down .."let me tell you about the time my mom forgot me at the Christmas party" for the rest of your life ;)

Like everyone else I found this story HILARIOUS! :rotfl2: This is the same child that you pushed in front a building for a photo op? ;) You are quite the mom.....:lmao:

Wendy, I agree with Coral! LOL! And I know for certain I would NOT be leaving the house for quite a while! LOL! I don't even own a coat that would keep me warm in that weather! LOL!
Jon keeps saying that since we've had severl *cold* days (like today!) that if it is going to be cold why can't it be really cold and snow for a day! LOL!
The kids would LOVE it! :thumbsup2

It is funny but I would be running around looking for her as well. Couldn't have been a loud knock. Were the phone lines down as well?:rotfl2:

I have to figure out how to find you all over there!

Wedding plans are going well... I think Brendan has his grooms men chosen (just has to "officially" ask them!) I designed my save the dates (magnets) just have to design the card...all the other stuff will have to be done starting in feb!

We are looking at houses and are hoping to lock in a rate in a few days...

(and I think he is warming up to a WDW trip after our st lucia portion of our honeymoon!!!)

Take care every one!

Chrissie

Oh that sounds great if you can get him to stay over at WDW. Hope to see you.

I'm sure the cell service was out too.

Both of you make very good points.
My suspicion is the rest of the adults were in a little worse shape than me.
They were partaking much more of the alcohol than me.
Miranda said my other next door neighbors stayed until at least 2:00 am and just left their kids too (although I think on purpose and not forgotten like me :rolleyes1 ).

This is where you need to change your story and it should be about how nice you were to let her stay the night.....

I don't have the opportunity to get on often, but wanted to wish everyone a very merry Christmas. This afternoon is our company carry in luncheon so I am stuck covering the front desk and nothing is going on. Fortunately we didn't get hit by the snow, but are expecting ice over the weekend. Tuesday it took me 2 hours to go 15 miles.

It has been a pretty rough holiday season as Brett got laid off the Monday after Thanksgiving. We are hoping things will pick up after the first of the year, but things are tight for now. We cancelled our Jan. trip to WDW. Sorry for being such a bummer. Hope everyone is well...including John's b*tt.

Sorry Terri to hear about Brett's lay off. :sad2: We all know how rough it is out there by just some of our peeps losing jobs earlier this year.:scared:

We all wish you and Brett the best of holidays and a prosperous New Year. ( I mean a great job):flower3:

I've been too swamped to even try to stay up with these boards lately. However, as the "big day" comes ever closer, I wanted to take this time to greet my Panama Canal & DIS buddies:

Just doesn't help when you are dealing with temperatures in the low teens to get a text from a friend on the verandah of a cruise ship (not DCL) pulling into St. George's, Grenada, the content of said text.....

"86 and sunny here"

Happy Birthday Roger!!!
