Full fledged panic mode seems to have set in. I'm sleeping even less then usual - yesterday I was up at 5:15, today I was up at 6:30 then for good at 7:45 - I normally sleep until at least 9 on Sundays!

Today I'll be reworking the packing that I already did plus finishing the rest of it. Printing the last of the magnets, getting together all the toiletries and various med's purchased and packed, books together and packed, carry-on for me packed (except for the laptop!) and DS's backpack packed up. DH got all the camera stuff packed up on Thursday - one whole carry-on size suitcase with cameras, video cameras, DVD's to burn pictures to, power strip and lord only knows what all else!

THis will be the 2nd time I'm repacking these suitcases, which is probably a good thing as I keep deciding to not take stuff because I just know that I won't wear it. I had a packing list all laid out and yet I haven't followed it for myself at all!

Tea is done and anisette toast is finished - best get my rear in gear. Have a great day all!

Did marathon packing all morning and afternoon-----2 suitcases 1 rolling duffle and 1 garment bag. All 5-15lbs underweight YAY

I'm still bringing 2 rolling carryons for all the last minute stuff....they will be mostly empty....room for stuff coming home !!!!!!!

Called Verizon Wirless and added the international dialing to our phones and unblocked the text messaging...

She told us the Cell@Sea rates are 2.49 per Minute.....she also told us the rates are cheaper on land

Mexico is 99c per min
Aruba is 1.99 per min
Bahamas (if we can get it on Castaway Cay) 1.99 per min
No service in Columbia

She also said Texting is the Cheaper way to go

I dont know what is going on with JetBlue-----DB and his Wife were flying out to LasVegas Friday for a Wedding on Saturday.....you guessed it Jet Blue cancelled their flight..... They wound up flying into CA and renting a car and driving to Vegas. Not sure but I think it was on another carrier (I got the information 3rd hand)

Sorry about your trouble but now I'm feeling better about booking on another carrier.....and I have always LOVED JetBLue.

I already did that- I was going thru saying do we REALLY need this? do we REALLY need that? I'm taking about half the "junk" that we took on the last cruise- and our last cruise was half the length of this cruise!

Wow, can't believe you get everything into 2 checked bags, but I really think you should check the third - think of all the souveniers you will be bringing back, so you might need extra room. LOL.

2 checked bags, 4 carryons almost to the limit of weight. That's just for the 4 of us. DH will bring a carryon as well.
AND in one of the checked bags all the junk (toiletries/sunscreen/etc.) is in a dufflebag (that we used as a checked bag last cruise) AND in that same checked bag is also our soft side cooler- so no worries- and the OTHER checked bag is about half of it FE stuff which will be gone once I divvy that stuff out to FE's. So no worries- I'll have plenty of room for other "stuff" to bring back. We may not come BACK with the same amount of checked luggage/carryons... we may come back with more. KWIM? (cause they are inside other luggage right now) the soft-sided cooler is like a carryon on size rolling bag thingy. It's a disney one- but inside it's a soft sided cooler with zippers and pockets and handle and wheels and stuff like a rolling carryon. KWIM?

Hello everyone... another weekend down. We leave this week and my son is so excited. I think we packed and repacked the suitcases 5 xs already!We are trying to take less stuff.. but for a 3 wk vacation its so hard.

My son is playing some utube sites that shows the MAGIC leaving and the Wonder in CASTAWAY CAY

This is the last sailing for the MAGIC from CALIFORNIA for awhile at least.

Can you believe its finally here!!! My house looks like we just came back with the suitcase, snacks, hangers.. And camers and sd cards and dvds for the camcorder.. AWWWW where will I fit them all.

We had our family reunion yesterday and then a party for my nephew who moved away today after 23 yrs. For our family it is an end to an era for him and his family and friends.

What am I forgetting..Good thing we have a car in Cailifornia to get to WALMART or Target for forgotten items.

I am sorry to hear this. If I recall you are from the Southern Tier... so you have a long ride to get down to JFK.

Jet Blue is no longer the reliable airline they once were. I have been delayed or cancelled >50% of my flights on them this past year.

Did they say if they put you on another flight yet? I would check to see if any of the other airlines cancelled flights for a weather advisory for tomorrow at this point. If not, demand them to put you on another flight with another airline.
My mom did say that it has been rather stormy there the past few days though. However, I'm not sure how they can cancel something already for tomorrow. It is not like it is snow and ice that can't be moved in time!

Jet Blue will not put you on another airline as they are not part of the inter-airline agreements that many full cost carriers participate it. So she is going to have to find space on another Jet Blue flight.

My advice... get on the phone ASAP... and wiggle your family onto a flight as quickly as possible.

Shannon............things will get better. I am sure Jet Blue will have more flights available tomorrow later in the day. I have never heard of an airline canceling the day before a flight unless their is a major hurricane.

I am an alum of Franklin K Lane on Jamaica Av (right on the border of Bkyn and Queens). Class of 1990 also.

My mom has flown them a number of times and twice was placed on another flight with another airline. Maybe she threw a big enough fit or something, but it did happen. They are cutting out some airports lately, so, I have a feeling they aren't going to last. A pity since they started out so strong.

If you read my previous posts you know what she did earlier and how all day I was worried because I didn't know where these people lived, didn't have phone number, nothing!
Well Jeff went to get her from church and when they got home- I laid into her (ofcourse ) and she LIED TO ME!
First she said they didn't ride horses and just played games and even mentioned how her friend's room is decorated like horses (like Ruby's room)/etc.
THEN she says she has to tell me something...... she really didn't even go to that girls house! Her friend's mom had to redecorate her room (that she teaches in at the church) and so she just stayed at the church playing in the gym with this Jennifer girl and one other girl her age the entire time.

SO THIS ENTIRE TIME I was sitting at home for hours wondering about her, worrying about her, upset because she was off who knows where.... and all along she was at the church. and not only that but LIED to me (elaborate lie about the girls room/etc.) at first! and she could have called or something for crying out loud! (she admitted she just didn't think about it- was having fun playing basketball/etc. and just didn't think to call to say they weren't going to her friends house but instead staying at the church)

Excuse me while I find some more chores for my ST to do..... I gotta make them good ones. I think the toilets need another cleaning.

It is tough to narrow things down when yo are going to be gone 3 wks! LOL! I told dh I was hoping not to do laundry on the ship...he then asked me *Would you rather waste your time at the Grand Floridian doing laundry?* uuummm... *No*.

I spent a day ealrier this week looking at DCL videos on youtube! LOL!

We are shipping a bunch of stuff to the ship tomorrow -- unfortunately we won't have any diet Mt Dew the entire 3 wks. We don't want to take a chance that they won't deliver our other stuff. I still think it is ridiculous that you can carry food and drink ON TO the ship but, I can't ship it to the ship.... It just doesn't make any sense!!!
So, our luggage will be filled with food 7dd will actually eat.... But, soda is just too heavey to put in suitcases! LOL!

After yesterday's fly across the handlebars, June has several scrapes and bruises to show for her spill. But she was a trooper and today we went for a long bike ride. Near the end of the ride, she tried to avoid a lady and her dog and almost ended up in a stream. Less than a minute later, she almost got hit by a Suburban

After giving the driver a piece of her mind, she was pretty shaken up and in tears riding home. She decided that she wasn't going to chance it and will stay off the bike until after the TOAL!!

Would a 12 pack hold you 'till Puerto Vallarta? I hear PV has a Wal-mart near port and we're there till 11:30pm, so maybe you could load up then? Or do they not have diet Mt. Dew in Mexico? In the meantime, we were renting a car in LA and planning a beer/water stop...I think we could swing a 12 pack too.

Maybe the Sams Club or Walmart in PV will carry that. I plan on getting water in PV..I thought aobut carring a case on the ship.. but we dont get to our rooms sometimes for 1-2 hrs after boarding. Does anyone have a good way to pack wine, I have 2 large bottles of RED CAT.. the should be enough for 2 weeks.lol.. many times my bottles get broken however!

Oh BIP, I do think we are going to have to keep Alana and Ruby on oppisite ends of the ship! THEY MAY NOT MEET!!!! They are far too much alike! 14yo, ADHD, immature, the lies to try to stay out of trouble! The list could go on! I think you and I will have to sit down and have a few DOTD's together! We MUST chat!
