I was going to ask if anyone was up for chat tonight, but looks like we've already lost the original Pirate Zone.
oh no..... so soon?
*pout pout pout*
That was such a FUN game!!!!!

When we got the last card and note I was so excited that I *knew* immediately who the *sign* was!!! I told dh *That's Joel!*
We had a horrible hand BUT, I had to turn ours in so that you would know how much fun we had!!!
Thank you!!!!
You are my kind of woman!!!

We had a quick meal of burritos tonight!
When we got home last night dh ordered Pizza.
You have probably been told by now... But, that is Lexi -- she was Claire's *back up dancer* for the talent show!
Saraangels dd.
Yep, we've been eating junk food and eating out since we got back. I'm really not in the mood to cook! I'm trying to stay in denial by not finishing the unpacking too. LOL But atleast I have washed all our dirty clothes and put the up- and did other things (like finally getting the pool from dirty green to "almost" clear blue/etc.) -I'm just avoiding some of the luggage that still needs to be unpacked and avoiding cooking for some reason. LOL
Yep, already been answered who the child is and who she belongs to. I knew she was Claire's dancer- that's where I recognized her from and had no idea she was a DIS'ers daughter- but I should have figured she probably was- considering how many DIS'ers were on the cruise. LOL
Well, it's official...
as of 12:01AM we are on strike
I'm really sad and scared.
Oh no.. I'm so sorry
All I can say is.......Welcome to high school band!! LOL
My son was a drummer all 4 years of high school and loved every minute of it! He had an amazing time in marching band, drum line, concert & jazz band. The kids figure it all out as time goes on. No matter what sport/club/activity they do...there are times when they have to leave early for games/performances and learn to balance their academics with these activities. My best advice in order to keep informed on what is going on, is to get involved in the booster club, or at least attend meetings. They really rely on the kids to pass on information on rehearsals, performances, fundraising and such.......but we all know how many kids are with this kind of info (or at least my sons were!)
Good luck!
This is so funny to read today, as DH and I were just discussing it at lunch today! (We had much anticipated mexican food at our favorite little restaurant.......since
DCL & WDW are seriously lacking in the mexican food dept!)
re band: I was in this same highschool band many moons ago. I just don't remember it taking up every stinkin' minute of my life back then. Sure lots of practices but this is just beyond ridiculous. I am a member of the booster club- have been for years even though this is her first year in the highschool band (she was part of the volunteer pit crew for the past 2yrs though). I hope she enjoys the highschool band as much as I did, I hope all this nonstop practicing/etc. doesn't overwhelm her combined with having all advanced classes, soccer and missing the first week of school!
They got back last night at MIDNIGHT, had to be there at 6:45am for practice- and then the section leader just up and decided to have another afterschool sectionals till almost 5pm. I don't really care about that because it's friday night anyway. LOL Really all of it I already knew about and realized she'd be pretty busy with band- the only thing that got changed and that I do NOT agree with is an out of town game that has them gone from 3:30 when school gets out till midnight on a SCHOOL NIGHT (Friday night would be fine ofcourse). I don't think that's cool at all..... even if she hadn't missed the first week of school and didn't have a ton of homework to catch up on that's just way too late (IMO) to be out on a school night and being it was from the minute they got out of school she had no time for anything else (eating- just had snacks during 3rd quarter, homework, and missing hours of sleep since her bedtime is way before that on school nights)
I sure hope something like this doesn't happen again but I don't know- it might. The whole reason this happened is the town they were playing has several highschools and have to share a stadium, so the schedule got changed and they got this game on Thurs night. I hope that doesn't mean they may play OTHER highschools in this town and may have more games on Thursday nights and out till midnight. *fingers crossed* All the rest- before school practices, after school practices, games on Friday nights, competitions on Saturday were all expected....
(*although I am a bit annoyed that the section leader can just up and decide, that day, that they'll be having sectional practice after school that day and I only get to find out once Ruby is allowed to turn on her phone after school is over... which ofcourse means I find out RIGHT THEN that she doesn't need to be picked up until an hour and a half later. I can't really plan any of our lives and activities around spur of the moment practices like that. I'd rather they just did sectionals on a schedule or even EVERY day after school than this spur of the moment sectionals. sigh)
Question for those that turned in your passports. Did they get stamped from all the ports? I never bothered to turn ours in, but now DS is mad that I didn't try.
No stamps.. and I heard others complaining the last day that they didn't get any stamps either.
I wish they HAD to give you a stamp. I mean like if you go there and you use your passport- that they'd HAVE to give you a stamp. It would have been nice to collect that on our passports as a list of places we've been. We can't write the places we've been on the extra pages in our passport- can we? LOL
