Crash- if you took photos of my door please send them to me!!! pretty please!

Oh and you're right- I have heard about other locals here with the coughing bug. But I don't see how *I* could have gotten it from anyone around *here* -since I started coughing almost immediately when we got home. I guess it's just going around everywhere! :(

OK... I've not BEGUN to unpack (however, Alicia has...) ... and I don't quite recall WHERE I put that Navigator deckplan. Could you remind me of your cabin number? I am certain I shot your cabin door and I've got it somewhere among the 2400+ images here. Actually, I have most of the door shots in a seperate folder... but they're all unprocessed.. but in sequence by deck.

And as for the cold thing... I thik the flight home INTENSIFIED my cough and throat discomfort. Or maybe it brought on a secondary infection. Either way... I'm re-recovering from it all. TOwards the end of our voyage I was getting better... then upon flying home got worse... then with some good rest I'm getting better again... but better QUICK enough for my taste. I was holding off seeing a doc - but now I'm rethinking it. It has been sooo long I've had this darn thing that I don't want it to progress into a walking pneumonia. I've heard of things like this triggering more serious illness with the weakened immune system and all. Of course, what do I know? I'm no doctor?

Anyways .... I have work and chores to tend to .... TTFN! I await your cabin number.... or you'll have to wait until I sort and process the cabin door shots fully. I have a lot of backlogged photo processing and DVD making to tend to. First on that to do list is the DVD for the BROWNIES end of year.

Ouch is right! There's got to be a better way! ;)

BTW just want to thank you again Arlene for making Cheryl & I "official" Raywatch girls! The t-shirt was so thoughtful! I loved it!

Also want to thank whomever put my quote about hassle free booking...zero dollars, etc. on a magnet! I was seriously touched by that!

And to everyone for ALL the FE gifts! They were all so fun to get & we really enjoyed checking every time we went back to the room to see if we had anything new. I was afraid our door was going to look a little bare since I only made a few magnets, but wow I had nothing to worry about because my door was FULL of magnets by the end of the cruise. I've got to say that not much of the candy made the trip home either. You think we'd have been to stuffed to jam candy down our throats too, but oh no we managed just fine!

Thanks again to all for making this truly a Trip of a Lifetime!!! :grouphug:

Diane...

... I'd like to ECHO your remarks on the FE gifts and on that magnet with your adage. I paused to reflect on that thinking ... "now where have I seen that before... cuz I KNOW I've seen it on the DIS board a few times before...". Plus the appreciative setiments you've voiced on FE goodies... well... my kids were always looking into our FE for things .... and friends ... you never dissappointed them with the continuious shower of fun things! TO that I'd like to add my voice of thanks (with a wink).

OK.. I gotta get moving before it gets too hot around here to do some chores.

TTFN!

Hi,

Due to a way overscheduled day, we did not make this tasting. Does anyone have a list of the wines from that session?

TIA

One nice touch by DCL was the free busses to the car rental locations.

I came out and was planning on getting a cab/van to Thrifty (given all our luggage) and the porter asked what rental and took us right to the bus.

Nice touch!

YEAH!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Great news!

K....this was you and Andy a little over 2 weeks ago-

Uh Oh...we need to remove these pics ASAP :scared: ...we complained to the Shore Excursion desk about how much fun we DIDN'T have on Los Cal..Los Cale..Los-Alota-Money

You just HAD to post the ones were we DID have something fun to do..:rolleyes1 .

I have to echo my thanks all the great FE gifts. We do have a creative group. Did anyone take a picture of all the gifts? I wanted to, but DH had them all packed up before I had a chance and I didn't have the heart to unpack them to take a picture and by the time we got home they went flying this way and that. So I hope someone posts a picture of all the many goodies.

I did take a picture of my door, but it was at the beginning of the cruise and there were so many more magnets by the end and I forgot to take another picture. I have over 1800 pictures and it took almost 2 hours to back up my computer last night...and I only backed up new or changed files since August 16th when I did the last back up! I hope I have a few photos worthy of posting. I promised to make a CD for family so I need to weed out all the duplicates, blurry pictures, etc. and get it down to a manageable number.

Last night I put 2 of my Shutter's pictures in the photo mats we had signed by Mickey and the gang. DH hung them in my scrapbook room (which used to be the dining room). I sure love being able to stare at them while I am trying to get started on my scrapbook. I have one from the Panama Canal with Captain Mickey in the corner and Mickey's signature at the top and one with the 3 Cabellaros and Donald Duck's signature at the top. We are taking the litho to get framed this weekend and want to hang that in our main hallway to the bedroom so we pass it each morning and evening. Just a few of our wonderful memories to help keep the Magic alive.

Yes, I'll echo that. Totally unexpected. Nice ending to the trip as far as DCL service.

That was great! Mike was planning on heading to Avis & leaving us at the port until after he got the car, because of all the luggage. Glad we didn't have to sit around & wait in the heat! :thumbsup2

I love this one...Kristina looks so determined!

Oh, if you could have only heard the soundtrack from this little ride...

Left! Left! No Paddle left! Ok, i paddle on the left side...

5 minutes later. LEFT LEFT! I start paddling left...What are you doing?!? TURN LEFT! TURN LEFT! NOT PADDLE LEFT!! The rocks are way over there and we're going to hit them!

It was fun though...after I gave up and let her paddle and I just handled the turns...:rolleyes1

I'll jump on the band wagon for that... We were expecting to have Mike take a cab and pick us up after.

New uses for a FE - Since Mike has been unpacking, he hung ours in the hallway by the bedrooms and I've been randomly leaving stuff in it when Lexi's good. Makes me think of you all every time I do it.

Good morning all! For anyone interested in the Tall Ships that were in LA or needs info for school reports, I have posted the contents of a small book on the Tall Ships on smugmug under embarkation.

We are packing up again today and heading to San Francisco after school. I would love to meet up with out SF pirates but we will be attending a wedding and rather pressed for time. Good news is that we get cake: :cool1: (really good cake, groom works for a bakery)

Monica
Would love to meet up with you and anyone else in March. I just need to know as far out as possible to ask for time off. Todd mentioned something about November too.

Cheryl
I wish we could have spent more time with you and John but the kids had their own ideas about our free time. If you come out to LA next year we will definitely get together.

Yes, he mentioned Nov to me too as we were saying our final goodbyes. I'll get more info from him once they are home.

You're in for some great weather this weekend. Hot (for us anyway) but none of that nasty humidity. I'll just wave across the bay to ya this weekend.

I've been in touch with Chris this week. She is happy to be on the Magic, unfortunately she's got the Crud too and has been sleeping most of the time. Only made it to dinner twice I think she said.

And for anyone wondering, the PC merchandise is on sale this week. Chris is shoving a couple of sweatshirts in her suitcase for me. She may have to sacrifice a rolling cooler for the space.

We are still travelling around 12 knots in rough seas and severe winds. The captain also assured the passengers not to worry about the rough seas or the tipping and turning that the ship is doing. He said that the ship is quite capable of navigating in these kinds of seas. He is either trying to keep people assured or is responding to some people who have already panicked. I do not know for sure.

Sounds like Poseidon adventure II to me...

Ours is in terrible shape after the trip (but what do you expect after i loaded 2 cases of water into it to get on the ship....and packed it to the gills to get home)

Ahhh it was worth the 12 is paid though...

OMG! I can hear your voice and see the expression on your face just describing it! :rotfl:

K hope the temp job is going well. Say hey to Devon for me. :)

See Deanna, now I have voices in my head too! :lmao:

At 9:00 a.m., the captain got onto the p.a. system and made it official: Castaway Cay is scrubbed and, because there is no other port nearby that can accommodate us in this weather, we will be spending the day at sea as we begin to make our way back to Port Canaveral, estimated time of arrival 5:00 a.m. tomorrow morning.

When he spoke to the island manager at Castaway Cay, the manager reported that they were still experienced sustained winds of 50 mph and the seas were very rough. So, let's keep the people who live on Castaway Cay in our prayers.

Brent, our cruise director, stated that they were busy making up a new Navigator to include the things that they have added for this day at sea. We should have those in our staterooms in 45 minutes or so.

Well, I guess that is all for now. Disney Dreams is tonight's show. They will also have a matinee of it. I will be at both.

I have also received my departure information. I have luggage tags for the airline and my luggage needs to be outside my stateroom between 9:00 and 11:00 p.m. tonight. I have also received my boarding pass for my flight as well. This airport check-in perk is really nice. Once I put my luggage outside my room tonight, I do not have to worry about it as I will not see it until I am back at Chicago O'Hare tomorrow evening! That makes things really convenient!

It has been a wonderful three weeks on the cruise and I am ready to go home and get back into my work again.

Thanks, Disney!

Sorry that you all didn't make it to Castaway Cay, but I'm glad that you're all safe. Wishing you safe travels home too!

Did anyone happen to take a picture of the Mom's doors??
It wasn't until I got home and was downloading pictures that I realized I didn't take any! I can't believe I forgot that.

BTW...thanks Mike, for the Mario pic. He came home with me.:lovestruc

He was either going on a magnet or grannie panties...

... glad you liked the magnet!!!

Here's our pre-meet at Blue Bayou.

Anyone seen any posts from Maine Jennifer re: how her mom is doing?

Hi! Can you do me favor? I just got off the Repo cruise and had Ponz's (from the cruise staff) e-mail information and stuff written on a napkin, sitting on the couch in Diversions. Well, as I was talking to Monica last night, one of the CMs decided to scoop it up and throw it out. Can you ask him to e-mail Melissa his information? He already has my e-mail address.

Ponz is my 17dd's new favorite CM!!! He cinched it when she saw him at Mass. ;)

We got back last night -- I'm only on pg 219 of hte thread so, i have some reading to do! LOL!

We had a great trip to WDW after the cruise!!

I hope SIL had fun -- I haven't had a chance to talk to DD yet today. I feel terrible -- sinus problems and *woosy* head feeling.

Had a fantastic time meeting some of you on the cruise. And I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to met more of you!!!

We are home now! It's nice to be home but I cannot believe our trip is over now....I have alot of reading to do to hear about everybody else's adventures....but have many suitcases, mail, and laundry staring at me. We got home a bit after midnight last night and had a fun 4 days in WDW after leaving our floating home on the Magic! The crowds were down in the parks which was nice...but we noticed the service was down in and around WDW too...or maybe it was just so nice on the Magic and too hard to compare. Our biggest shock after getting off the ship is having to pay for food and lack of fresh, fabulous fruit! LOL

Anyway...just wanted to say hi for now. We have over 3,000 pictures so far and still loading. Thats just from our 3 camera's and doesn't include the other 11 people we traveled with and their camera's. LOL

Sorry CC was skipped...

even so... it must be nice to have another 5 days of adventure and pampering aboard the Magic! It had not really occurred to us to add another sailing after our 15 day voyage. 20 nites embarked has a nice ring to it - Hurricane or not! Otherwise, we're hoping the best for everyone who is in the path of this seasons storms...

This was a great idea - we didn't return the cards because we had no hand at all but I see we should have. We were in the running for a straight but then out last card was a Jack and that totally didn't fit in :)

Monica -:grouphug: to you and Trevoy - I do want to say that he is a very pleasant person. Every time I saw him he was nice and polite to the people around him

I have soo much unpacking to do. Not so much Laundry because we did another load about 4 days prior to the cruise ending but I have to get everything unpacked and put away by this weekend because I am going to DL Sept 14-18 for a conference and then we will be back to DL at the end of October for a few days. Anyone out there during those dates that would like to meet up let me know

For all of you that dressed up for Pirate night it was awesome. Even my family, which looked at me strange when I suggested dressing up, went on to say they should have.

We rebooked for Oct 31, 2009 but may switch to 2010 depending on the itinerary

Go for 2010! We booked the 2009 dummy date cruise waiting for the 2010 dates to be issued. Our boys would love to cruise with your son again! They had a great time together.
