WOW -What a trip.... and such a great group of people...
Made it home at 11:00pm. Getting ready to meet my class of 28 fourth graders...Miss the ship and the pirates already...
Thanks for a super trip.
Georgiana

Glad you're all getting home all right. We are in rough seas right now, hoping to make Castaway Cay tomorrow. Here is a brief excerpt from today's blog:

Up . . . Down . . . Left . . . Right . . Up . . Down . . Left . . Right . UP . DOWN . LEFT . RIGHT UPDOWNLEFTRIGHT....

THAT, my friends, is precisely what the ship is doing. I am hearing "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" playing in the back of my mind!!! :)

Seeing people walking down the halls (myself included) is like watching human pinballs bouncing in a pinball machine.

It is almost 10:00 p.m., 75 degrees, 72% humidity and we are travelling at 17.4 knots in "rough" seas (7.5-12 foot waves). We are bouncing all over the place.

And you want to know the amazing thing about it? Not a single missed step during the show tonight by our dancers and performers. It was simply amazing. Watching them gave us the illusion that everything was normal. And as soon as everyone in the theatre stood up at the end of the show, half of us fell back in our seats because of the motion of the ship. This group of performers is absolutely amazing. Did I use amazing enough? :)

We are still watching the weather and being informed by the captain. He has let us know that we will be informed should any further changes to our itinerary become necessary. We are just hoping that we can get in to Castaway Cay tomorrow. If the seas are too rough, the ship cannot make berth there and we would end up with a sea day.

Keep us in your thoughts. Ol' Hanna is going to make this week very interesting, that's for sure. We've already had an itinerary change because of it.

Safe trip ! Great to meet you

After a quick stop at Earl of Sanwich at DTD we dropped Heather off at MCO and she is home safe and sound in CT. Our drive home was uneventful and now all I need to do is convince myself it is really over. It was a wonderful trip -- made more so by all of you wonderful people. Special thanks to all who added their congratulations to Heather on finishing her PhD.

We are keeping a close eye on the Weather Channel with hopes that our fellow cruisers have a wonderful AND UNEVENTFUL 5 day.

Time to call it a night.

Barbara

Oh Barb, I totally forgot. Congrat Heather for us.

May I be the first to say.........Off to :surfweb:

We made it out of MCO on time with a flight full of DIS'ers - all headed to DFW and then on to connecting flights to various home cities.

We got home around 8pm and dined in Parrot Cay....oops well it should have been on the rotation, but we made do with or local mexican restauant.

Thanks again to all he folks who made this truly a TOAL.

I'll make a first pass though the pics and stat uploading later in the week.
First up will be the vids of the transit, Jolly Pirates and Castaway Cay.

Andy

Hi Everybody! I hope that you all have had a safe and uneventful trip home. I am currently sitting in the Adult lounge and am taking full advantage of non-Disney internet service.

I just wanted to wish everyone a safe trip and continued safeness. We are about to embark on our next portion of our journey. DCL has changed the itinerary due to Hurricane Hannah and we are now scheduled for , today, Port Canaveral, Tuesday - Castaway Cay, then sea day on Wednesday and Nassau on Thursday and then Castaway again on Friday with Saturday disembarking.

As some of you later disembarkaters know - Brent is now onboard. I got this huge grin when Chicken Boy made an announcement. Cpt Jack and I managed to see Christian as he was disembarking today from deck 10.

I met up with Disney Sweetie at about 12:30 and we ate lunch at Parrot Cay. Later going to our room we ran into grumpylover54 and picked up my drugs that I asked for. Seems that I woke dripping and used some zircam and now I am fine and dandy.

I put in my request for M's ship of idiots...mmmmmmmmm...dummy cruise so someone send me the link and I can subscribe! :rotfl2:

Ran into Aly at the rope line and she managed to sneak her way into the crowd and take some pictures with some of the stinky teens then she hightailed it up the staircase. Course, I had to open my mouth and insert my foot and mention to a lady that was standing next to me - "either she's brave or she's looking for attn. Didn't dawn on me that she may be with that party until she looked at me so Coral - you don't have to worry about your foot in mouth disease - I contracted it but good!

Anyway, it was an awesome experience to have met everyone and I sincerely hope that we do stay in touch. I have declared next year a non-cruising year but of course, that depends on what you all are doing. LOL

Let me know and I'll go with the flow.

That's all for now - got to go and download some last minute shots.

Take care all and talk to you all soon.
aw man- I don't think I got to meet you on the cruise! That's the only disappointment I have- that I wasn't able to meet everyone on the cruise! Just too many of us I guess. LOL I didn't even get to meet Michelle either (lotsofboys)..... we kept going to the "meet" places like ice cream at 2pm, signals at 4- and no one was there but us. :rotfl:
Aw well.. next time I guess. :)

Monica, ITA!!! I thought his show was awful. My sister walked out during it!

As for "Entertainer of the Year", perhaps it was a bad year????:rotfl:
We passed on this show because of a tip from Jake at Guest Services that it (and I quote) stunk to high heaven. LOL

Glad you're all getting home all right. We are in rough seas right now, hoping to make Castaway Cay tomorrow. Here is a brief excerpt from today's blog:

LOL (pinball machine made of people on a ship is the vision I have)
I don't know how they do that on stage when the ship is rocking bigtime and it sounds like you're rocking much more than we ever did on the 15nt cruise!
I hope you made it to CC!

Hi all!!!

Made it home safe and on time. Want to thank everyone for the greatest vacation experience ever!!:cool1: :cool1: Kids fell asleep on the drive home and I am feeling the time change and ready to head off to bed. By the way I found the my underwater camera :sad2: It took the journey with us tucked safely away in the camcorder bag. The only place I didn't look. Will upload pictures tomorrow.

Ditto here- made it home safe and on time- we were so surprised that we had no delayed flight this time and ALSO no traffic even though that's normally rush hour traffic. I guess Labor day helped that instead of making it worse! By the time we picked up Tramp (the dog) and Tiki bird (the parakeet) from 2 different places and got home it was almost 7pm CST.
Yeah, my luggage is still sitting here taunting me but I just turn around and stick my tongue out at it (hehe) cause I'm so NOT in the mood to unpack. *sigh*
Got the kids off to their first day of school (6th day of school for everyone else though) and picked up the mail... haven't gone thru it yet. I'm going thru Disney Magic withdrawals ofcourse...... yeah, my bed is still unmade. :confused3
:lmao:
My kids usually love for school to start again after summer but even they were totally bummed they had to leave the ship and go to school. LOL
I gotta tackle this pool (and DH can tackle the lawn and landscaping tonight after work). We must have had a lot of rain and possibly flooded into the pool again- it was a nice dark shade of green water when we got home last night. And with the AC turned way high (temp) while we were gone- it sure would have been nice to jump in the pool for awhile while the house started cooling off once we got home and cranked the ac temp down. But alas, wasn't to be. We even had frogs in our pool. yuckamundo.

Oh our flight home we saw 4 boons sitting behind us on the plane. I didn't even know they lived in Texas! LOL But they had another flight from DFW to their home town... saw some other people on the flight that were on the cruise but not DIS'ers (that I know of)- you know people like we saw their kids in the club talent show, talked to while on the ship, etc.

Oh I found some stuff -that we couldn't find on the cruise- guess where it was? In the inside zipper pocket of the one larger bag (would have been checked bag) that I decided not to take and moved all the stuff to other bags.. all the stuff except I forgot to check that zipper pocket inside! LOL
Still haven't found a few things that I KNOW I packed and that are needed now (under-type-clothing for someone of the female persuasion in our family that is not myself. Hopefully saying it like that is disney-fied enough for this board and vague enough not to get me in trouble with DD LOL) I'm beginning to think maybe she took them out of the suitcase and put them in a drawer at HOJO's since we never could find them on the cruise- and at HOJO's we lived out of our suitcases those few days- so I didn't check drawers since nothing was supposed to be in those drawers! So I may need to take a quick trip to the store. LOL

But I did get the kids off to school and picked up the mail. I need to take Tramp to the groomers but I think I'll wait a bit since he's pretty clingy after not seeing us for so long. And work on this pool some more. Who knows how long it will take to get it nice and clear again.......

The sunburn I was stupid enough to get on CC Sunday is sure hurting (on the back of my arms/shoulder- that area is tender! Ouch! Note to self: don't just put sunscreen on everyone else- apply to yourself too!) I'm glad I got the sunburn on the LAST day instead of earlier on so atleast I didn't have to suffer with sunburn while on the cruise!

Hope everyone made it home safe and wishing everyone loads of fun unpacking. I think all I'm gonna unpack today is the one bag that is full of dirty clothes (so I can wash them) and the one bag that has all our souveniers in it- so I can just go thru those and be happy.... the rest is not so fun to unpack so I'll procrastinate a bit on that. LOL

Oh I forgot to say- while I wasn't able to personally meet everyone from the thread-- it was VERY helpful with the shirts, lanyards and nametags. Even if I didn't talk to someone -I still SAW them and recognized they were part of our group. And sometimes just said hi or asked who they were (or tried to look at their nametag without looking like a freak who likes to look close at their upper stomach area LOL) -but it was so much better than last time- which was also a large group but I only saw a couple of people that entire cruise. This was much better.
So thanks to those that helped and did all the work with the shirts and lanyards and the nametags!!!!

Okay so keep it honest- am I the only one that wants to keep walking around with their lanyard on? LOL And I usually hate lanyards- but this time I got hooked on having it on all the time- I really liked this lanyard- it was thin and soft and not sharp edges and stuff to hurt your neck. LOL And so very handy.....

I can't believe the TOAL is over.
:sad2: :sad2:

Hi everyone

Want to thank you all for a fantastic TOAL had a awesome time... also for all the help with my In Laws... you all know who you are.. :goodvibes :goodvibes

Hi Everyone - I just want to say that this was definitely a TOAL and it was great meeting the people I did. I didn't get to meet everyone and I didn't make it to some of the meets due to some thing or another. The kids really wanted to do the ice cream eating contest but they fell asleep and my kids NEVER want to nap

Hope everyone had an uneventful time getting home

Clearly this was written prior to the evening show. Sad to say but Darren Romeo was the worst show I saw on board. But then again I didn't go see Aly and AJ and I heard that was bad. I don't understand how Darren Romeo could have won "Entertainer of the Year".

Same here - he wasn't what I expected at all
My kids enjoyed Aly & AJ, I don't know their songs so I just took pictures for them

That does not sound too bad. I have done much worse in my time. ;)
I am pretty sure I saw Pikey in the airport today. Did he get off too?

Hey Coral,
Darren and Kelly saw him at MCO too:cool1:

After we checked our bags in we looked for you all, but everyone had moved on:guilty:

I've got Darren reading the thread now that he knows some people:lmao:

I miss everyone already:grouphug:

:woohoo: Hi everyone

Just dropping a note to say thank you all for a fantastic 15 day cruise we had a awesome time... :cool1:

I just finished downloading the pics from the trip, the final tally was 8395 pics - so there should be a good one or two in there somewhere. pirate:

OK the first few hours back at work were typical. Again they had me in training despite my mgr telling them I would not be back. (she thought I had another week):lmao: I wish Now I am at the radiology office waiting for DHs MRI to be over. Then the mad dash to get him back to the house and me back to work It must have rained buckets here while we were gone. The dry barren retention ponds are great big lakes right now.I can't wait to see all the photos everyone posts to see everyone I didn't get a chance to meet.
Hope the 5 day goes well but the storms are all over the news.We were so fortunate not to have any bad seas. In fact this was the first in 5 cruises we hardly felt anything. We got up early in the am as we were coming into the port area and we loved the rocking.:lmao:

65 Mondays until 12/5/09.

:)

Let the countdown begin. . . we are going on 11/21/09 Thanksgiving Cruise. Only 63 Mondays.

Didn't pay much attention to the news on board. Reading headlines on the way home and saw that Hockey Mom from Alaska nominated as VP--TOAL, VP candidate, woman of match for Rugby--boy that M is busy. :lmao:

In adding my "voice" to the thanks to everyone for the efforts made to make this a great trip, I will add in a big thanks to Pete for everything he did in putting together the match. My son and I had a great time.

Nicholas.

I agree, it was awful.

I don't agree with all of her politics, but let this be a warning to America - never, ever get in the way of a hockey mom!

I should call Sarah to see if she wants to borrow my Tink wings. She has the right hair. She could fly around during the balloon drop and the convention. :tink:

Reality hit early this morning. Up at 6 AM and back to work. We got home about 6 PM Monday after a delay in Atlanta. Our plane hadn't been cleared by security. Then there were 2 accidents on the highway on the way home. Can you imagine, no one had dinner ready for us when we got home! I would have settled for a Topsider's buffet or even sandwiches from Goofy's. But instead we had to stop for take out pizza.

Thanks to all who made this a great trip. We had great excursions and loved Cartagena. We didn't participate in a lot of the group activities, but still met a lot of wonderful people. And I even got a few words in at the dinner table. :rotfl: (Thanks Cheryl, John, Arlene, Rich, Laura and Steve) I guess I am glad we missed the Darren Romeo show. It was the only one we didn't see, we decided to see a movie (Swing Vote).

It was really a wonderful 15 days and even though we didn't book onboard I am trying to talk DH in to another cruise in 2010 for our 10th anniversary.

I am still downloading pictures. The laptop gave us some trouble on the cruise. I can't wait to start my scrapbook.
