8/17/08 Captain Jack's Repossession Repo Cruise to PC thru TPC #13

I am starting my panic attack mode right now!(my happy pills have not started yet!!!!).

What to pack, do I really need to take this? I know I always overpack but you would think(yeah right) after three cruises and multiple trips to WDW I will pack less!

Everything is laid out and the space bags are ready!!!!

Now the task "Take it or leave it"!!!!

I don't mind I didn't know that DH did that and was on the list. There is a few things he signed up for that I just saw his name on there LOL. MEN...no offense to others but I know that he has been extremely busy and all with work and just forgot.

We have cruised on both The Wonder and Magic. Both times we felt the room was a bit warm, for us. We called up and they adujusted the thermostat so that our room was cooler. I think they have something on the thermostat like to do at WDW hotels, that if you are in the room it will be cooler then if you aren't. Well we want to come back to a cool room. Once they adjust it, it is has been fine.

I did not know this- and I'm the same as you. And maybe that's why our room was never cool enough- because we weren't IN there. I had no idea they had some way of it coming on if you were IN there and we weren't in our room much except at night. LOL
thanks for posting this... had no idea they could make it cooler! (this is not just about minor comfort-it's about DH and eldest DD sweating all night- you can't sleep well if you're hot natured and sweating all night. yanno?)

LOL I know the feeling!
I am packing less- but even less than last time is probably still overpacking. I am trying to pack less and wash clothes during the trip- but it's the "everything else" stuff.. stuff I'd rather bring rather than pay huge prices for it if it's needed on the cruise. yanno? LOL

Whichever you want to do. We don't usually wear our *matching stuff* just to match. I will be wearing my dress but, heaven only knows what day! LOL! I have never coordinated our clothes for dinner..... I don't think my dh & kids would go for that.
I'm fairly certain Samantha (17) doesn't want to match any of us! Elvis would match me though.... Little boys are much nicer to their moms then girls are....

It won't take up much space and now I think I am remembering you'd mentioned you have the dress to match in a post on here previously... or something. I have so much on my mind I forgot. I'll bring it! Sorry I forgot to give it to you the other day. LOL

Please do remind me to give it to you though. I can see it now.. completely forgetting until we're packing up the night before the cruise is over or something. LOL

Hello! I have been lurking and learning from all of you over the past few weeks. My wife and I - along with ds 13 and ds 9 will also be on your adventure.

I just wanted to share that at A C Moore craft store here in New Jersey they have pre printed Pirates of the Caribbean pillow cases that you can color on. They come in single packs or 8 in a pack. Since there are always 40% off coupons they would be around 3 a piece. They also have Hannah Montana designs and Princess cases. I thought that this might be a fun way to gather autographs of the characters.

I just wondering if they go through are bags and see lots of stuff for the FE will they question it or should we do carry on with them. I don't want to get on the plane to CA and find that they are missing. This is what I am worried about cause last time we went somewhere they took stuff out and never saw it. Concerned alittle bit about it.

What do you think? Then I know that I asked this earlier but do think that there is shampoo in the rooms? Also, I am stressing cause we NEED to start packing yikers... It's only 1 week and 4 days.

Welcome!!! My DS will be 13 on August 14 & our DD is 9, I think there are a lot of kids around this age range!

Quick question............My kids want to take their pins and lanyards on our trip. Can they wear one lanyard and put the pins in their carryons? OR do I have to pack all those pins and lanyards - they are heavy! Wasn't sure about putting the pins in their carryons with all the restrictions they have now plus going through security Any help would be appreciated.

I believe we have always put our lanyards in our carry on, even our last trip to WDW in April. We have never had a problem. I was always worried someone would steal the pins in the checked bags!

Welcome! This is the latest incarnation for the Captain Jack's Repossession Repositioning Cruise to Port Canaveral thru The Panama Canal. This thread is largely impossible to keep up with, even for the most active poster. However, its a lot of fun with a great group of people, so jump in and say hi, even if you can't sit here reading 24/7.

In order to keep all of the relevant information in some sort of order, we have a Website that has a lot of good information on ports, packing, etc. There is a really good "virtual cruise" that takes you day by day through the cruise, a must see and guaranteed to get you even more excited for the cruise. While you are there, sign up for our mailing list using the webmaster link on the main page.

Most important information posted on this thread is cut/paste by the good people here and placed on our planning boards. This is also the place to go to sign up for any of the events you are interested, ask questions where you don't have to search through 1,000 posts to find the answer, etc.

So fasten your seat belt, keep your hands and head inside the car at all times and have fun.....

Good Morning, I hope that everyone is doing well. Just trying to catch up on the dis boards and I finally made it. I just have real quick question DH was asking me last night do they supply shampoo? I thought that they did but not sure. I know that they did lotion and all.
I hope that all have a great day, My day is cleaning and getting FE, SM
and possible dress shoes for DD6 if she will let me get dress shoes for her ugg. I am pulling my hair out with that cause she is so picky. LOL
she would want tennis shoes with the formal...LOL

Anyways she is off to school, DS14 is still asleep and I am just chatting on here trying to catch up to everyone. I am so excited only 1 week and 4 days for all of us really. I just can't wait. See you soon.

On our last cruise in Jan 2007, they did have shampoo. I liked it so much that I put mine away . . .LOL They even give you replacement bottles when you run out of the original bottles.

I believe I'm thinking the same way . . what can I NOT carry that will be there . . .The other thing I keep reminding myself is if I forget anything I can always pick it up in PV at Walmart . ..LOL

Thanks for the reminder about shoes and hair. I think we're okay on shoes for the DSs, but they desperately need haircuts!!! DS13 had his hair sticking every which way in church yesterday and DH (as head usher) was not happy . . .LOL. Teens are so fun

You're right...it is little, and it is actually not even a hurricane yet. If it gets here quick enough, and it looks like it might, it may not even develop into a hurricane. If we have to get hit with something, I would gladly take a TS or a Cat. 1 hurricane over something bigger! I've never been in a hurricane...was in a pretty bad TS about 7 years ago. I told my DH that it's a good thing it isn't any bigger because I don't have time to evacuate. I need to finish packing!
