Good morning all... just catching up as you can see.

We had our mini meet in NYC yesterday. It was really nice to meet Julie and DD Meredith, Jo and Frank and family, and Latanya. What nice people!

We had some great pizza with some great company at John's Pizzeria on 44th Street. DH and I got in early and stopped at a street festival along the way, I love street festivals in the city!

Unfortunately, I realized when we got home that we never took any pictures....bad us. Sorry guys!

Got a lot of stuff done this w/e, ordered DH formalware, got transportation booked in Cali, went shopping (got more shoes.....I am so bad), made my packing list (no I can't pack yet). Almost done with my door decorations. Can't believe we leave in 10 days.....can't control myself.....

Have a good day all! Will check in later.

Debi

Good morning, Debi! I agree, it was a great -- if small-ish -- meet, and I realized later that I forgot to take photos as well! We'll see each other again very soon . . .

Belated Anniversary greetings Arlene and Rich!

I was watching the Yankee game yesterday, didn'y you guys get engaged at Yankee Stadium 40 years ago?

Yup! 1968 And it was one of those games that went way into the night. We left around 11. Mickey Mantle was still on the team then.:goodvibes

Good Morning Everyone!!!:surfweb:

I haven't been on in quite a while but I have been checking the posts off and on daily.

Can you believe two weeks from today we will be on the MAGIC?:woohoo: Remember that early morning in January and the 75,90 and 105 days out???

I am looking forward to meeting everyone. This sounds like a great group and even though I don't write as much as others I consider us friends.

My adventure starts out this Wednesday August 6th by flying home to Syracuse, NY for my family reunion this weekend, then Tuesday is my mom's birthday which will be the first time in 8 years that I have been home for this.
Also my nephew Russell:hug: (23)(he went to DisneyWorld for the first time during Easter break and invited me along. I can't even count how many times I have been there. We had such a great time and I hope we can do it again next year.) will be moving to Albany, NY to start his new job on Monday the 11th. My sister Lainie1222(some of you may know her from our 2006 trip) We are all so proud of him.

This year has been one harrowing year for our family healthwise. My Dad was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer last year around Labor Day. Fortunately we were able to get him to MASS General in Boston and the Doctors and Nurses took the best care of him. He went thru chemo and radiation and as of today we can say that if anything is there it is dormant! THE POWER OF PRAYER!!!!! He had the best Private Duty Nurse my Sister Doreen(reenieny)She is a wonderful caring nurse. He is out playing golf with his grandsons. We never thought we would be seeing this.

On August 13th Doreen, Marty, Daniel, Jaclyn(Doreen's daughter, she is unable to go on the cruise due to work) will be flying west to CA. We have never been to DL or CA or California so this is definitely an TOAL!!!!!

Hope to see you all at DL and of course on the MAGIC!!!!!!

I was looking at the spreadsheep that Pamela posted on the Pirate Boards and she has Mousketeer Night for Early Dining listed on Aug 22, the same night as the Mexican Deck Party. Now I'm sure that there was some method used to guess what night Mouseketeer Night would be, but would they do this the same night as the Mexican Deck Party? If not, when would be the next-probable night for Mouseketeer Night?

Kim

I think she calculated by assuming what rotation we would have and then putting it on the second Animators night (first "non-show" night) which is how it fell on WB

Geee what happened to our late night chatters? :confused3

I'm a little sad at the moment...

One of my friends from another board i post on left after a particularly nasty incident...

I feel kinda bad and i can't even e-mail him because his e-mail was on my work computer...

(i still hate them for not letting me gather all my stuff or even my health care related e-mails.)

I don't know if this would work, but in NJ, all e-mails are considered public record, so you could file a public records request for the e-mails. Downside is there may be a per page printed charge.

I've never heard of this TSA screening device/method.

However, I can sort of imagine how it might be .... I guess?

At least you shouldn't get in trouble with a Marilyn image.... what you could have come up with :confused3 :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

FYI, I called Cruiseline Formalwear and the new Tux package won't be available for a while. Was hoping to change our order :sad1:

Help help help!! Haven't been as active on these boards as I wanted...had a lot of very stressful time consuming things happen last few months. Well, now it all takes the cake.

1) DD9 starts limping really badly. Took her to docs, have xray done. She has a bone deformity called a coalition - a painful bone deformation. surgery is the cure. DH had his heart mitral valve repaired two years ago - we only had my mom and I as caregivers. Full open heart surgery. It was easily a full year recovery - full year of me bring in charge of all...Of course her surgery won't be so scary, but, hey, its my kid and I know I will further age 20 years in one year. At best, she can walk a lot, at worse, since we will delay surgery, she wil be in portable splint, or wheel chair. She is a completely active child, so it will behard for her!! Luckily, its not too painful if she stays off of it.

2) DS12 comes back from Scout Camp. Had a blast. Gotten bitten by a deer tick. Incubation time for Lyme disease symptoms beginning are now until a week after we board the ship. I am thinking of taking him to our doc and getting the meds now, and if he begins to get ill, have the doc on board monitor him. He could give me the go ahead to give the drug, couldn't he?

Any of you brilliant wonderful people personal experts on Lyme disease? What I have read, it looks like we are totally hosed. I THINK, tho, they got the tick off fast. Area where they were camping is one of the highest in the US for lyme disease...:sad2:

Sorry for all the stress! :grouphug:

Just wanted to let you know that the meds for Lyme cause extreme sun sensitivity. So much so my friend's daughter had to be completely covered even with gloves all last summer just in the car and such - her hands were all blistered even with sunscreen - in Connecticut. I can't imagine any further south...

I'd wait it out if you can - every tick does not carry Lyme. I just pass along this info so you are aware. You need to know all the facts if you are tempted to start meds "just in case".

Best of luck to your family.

So I am in full panic mode...nametags are just about to be finished...ran out of laminate last night!

I have stuff to do and not many hours this week so I may not be on very often but will check my PM's (I have pm'd a few people)

I will be posting a list shortly of nametags I have printed....

Hopefully I won't miss anything..

FE's may not be great but you will have FABU nametags!

Chrissie

We'll have just missed you! Our flight from Albany leaves at 6:30 and arrives JFK around then, our next flight leaves at 8:20 for LAX. Car is coming to pick us up at 4am - no sleep for me until I get on the plane!

Wow...both of you are too early for me. We leave JFK at 4:59 (yes, that is our flight time).

I have a call into my doctor for antibiotics (just in case) because I ALWAYS get a sinus infection when I change climates. I have about an eight year history of this and have had one sinus surgery. If I don't jump on it right away, it leads to bronchitus - which is way worse.:scared1:

I already filled scripts for 2 zpacks..1 for me and 1 for dh... better safe then sorry!!

YES! Haven't found Mexican food I like outside of CA either, except in Mexico of course.

I just don't even bother with Mexican or Chinese when I travel any more.

Not sure if what I have in CA is more authentic or not, but that's what I'm used to and that's what I prefer. However when I spent a week in Puerto Vallarta, the food was the same as what we've got here. So I guess many of our local immigrants are from the PV region??

Can you recommend a good restaurant in PV?? DH loves Mexican food, and well..youcan't get the good stuff in Jersey..

BTW our NY chow mein is the veggie mix served over rice and crispy noodles.

Thanks.

Thanks for doing this Chrissie!!! You ROCK!

That's the problem. DH thinks all will fail without him.
Dina keeps asking when daddy doesn't have to go to Avalon anymore...:guilty: She is so sad when she wakes up and he is already gone. This will be a great break for all of us.

HOW can he say no to that cute little pixie?!?!?!? DD has been teasing DS that his girlfriend will be on the ship. LOL! He doesn't mind. It doesn't seem like 2 years ago!
