Thanks for the picture sharing site Tom! Great work as usual! :thumbsup2

Also thanks to those of you that mentioned the ticket price increases. I bought my DL tickets today & my WDW tickets for our trip in Oct. :cool1:

Have a good day! :flower3:

That's funny...I was just mentioning to a co-worker yesterday how different Mexican food is in Denver than in Kansas City. I always knew that BBQ was different throughout the country (Texas style, Memphis sytle, Carolina Style and of course, the best -- KC Style). But Mexican and Chinese food too vary by region?!

I really shoundn't be posting - too much to do - but this caught my eye.

There are certainly regional differences within the USA for both Mexican and Chinese food, but part of that is also that there are vast regional differences within each of those countries. You will often find that certain parts of the USA will have Mexican-Americans or Chinese-Americans that immigrated from particular regions in the "old country". I have heard that most of the Mexican immigrants around Chicago are mostly from a single area in Mexico. In my town (which is about 1/2 hispanic - many of which are 3rd/4th/5th generation) are from only a couple TOWNS in Mexico. It is probably due to when people are deciding to immigrate, it is easier to go where "Uncle Jose" lives that to pick some area where you know no one. The food that I consider "authentic" Mexican is the local food from that area - it has very little in common with the food from the Yucatan or the Mexican Riviera. It is similar to "Tex-Mex" but I am nearly always disapointed with the food at any of the chain type restaurants - the spices/cheeses/etc just don't seem "right"

Cruise Question

Is there somewhere where the schedule is for what night is what (Like Pirate Night, Formal Night, ...)? There are special nights not on the regular 7 day cruises, right?
Anyone know what and when those are too?
Thanks :)

Pretty funny because I think we've been in chat every day this week . . .LOL Wonder if we'll have anything to talk about when we finally meet everyone in person . . .:rotfl2:

We can talk about how we miss the online chats.... :rolleyes1

If you look at the forum titles on the pirate boards, they have them labelled

YES! Haven't found Mexican food I like outside of CA either, except in Mexico of course.

I just don't even bother with Mexican or Chinese when I travel any more.

Not sure if what I have in CA is more authentic or not, but that's what I'm used to and that's what I prefer. However when I spent a week in Puerto Vallarta, the food was the same as what we've got here. So I guess many of our local immigrants are from the PV region??

Okay, Crash . . since you are the resident DL expert . .. we only want to go DL ONE day (Friday) and only want to get a pass for ONE park (so we have cash to spend on other things for the next 3 weeks). Considering our boys are 11 and 14 and LOVE rollercoaster rides, which park would you recommend . . . (other folks are more than welcome to chime in as DL experts, too . . .)

By the way, I love Chinese food from Chinatown. We always stop when we're in Washington, DC. It's tradition! Wonder if West Coast Chinese tastes the same as East Coast Chinese??

Have a super day!

Overall, Disneyland is the better roller coaster park (Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain and the Matterhorn). Especially if you've never been to DL before, it's definitely the one to go to.

However.... I must in all fairness note, that if you've been to Disneyland, and you are REALLY into rollercoasters, the place to go is Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia (about an hour and a half north). It is one of the best rollercoaster parks in the world. Guaranteed to make them puke.

2 weeks today, we'll be on the puddle jumper from San Jose to LAX :cool1:

Andy

Two weeks from today I'll be somewhere in the Disneyland reort. Where, I have no idea.

Due to European rules we have to use KG's Kilogrames, and not Lbs Pounds in weight, and we mustn't mention Monty Python as well.

What do you mean you mustn't mention Monty Python? Are you telling me that the UK accepted membership in the EU without requiring them to become Monty Python fans? How can that be????? :rolleyes1

They haven't got got our British sense of humor, the only time they got close was with Inspector Clouseau,

When John Clesse did Faulty Towers in the UK, for the BBC, that was it!:rolleyes1

Ugghh, just finished installing a new faucet in the kitchen sink, now to get the crick out of my neck.

Thanks to you and Pamela for all your hard work on this
For those of us who missed it where will it be available to download and print?

pirate: ing the thanks . . . I see M answered about there being a big announcement when they are ready. They will have the deck by deck FE/roster pdf there, too . . .

Not much time to catch up today - busy, busy, busy! I have a quick question about the Secret Mickey exchange. I'm about to wrap gifts (some will be wrapped, a few little things won't be) and I assume they should be from "Secret Mickey" - but when will we reveal who the Secret Mickey is? Should there be a note with the last gift?

Also, is there any protocol on when the gifts are given? I have 4 or 5 little things and 1 "real" gift for mine - should I spread them out over the entire cruise or would it be OK to do it all in the first week? (The final real gift is something they might want a chance to use on board...) DS picked out a bunch of smaller gifts for his, so it will probably take most of the cruise if he does 1 gift per day.

Thanks - Pamela

Laura said she would find a spot when she gets on the cruise, for near the end, and let everyone know where to be for the "reveal" -- however, I also made my last gift something pretty obvious (NYC based) and included a note asking if they could figure out who I am . . .

Sooooo, for everyone who isn't packed, are you going to pack this weekend? I am planning to be packed (mostly) by tomorrow night!!!! We leave the 12th so I need to be ready!

Can't wait to meet you all.

Pack? Pack what??:confused3

No, but I some choice words of persuasion were spoken during the process :rolleyes1

Andy
Was it, ' if I asked so nicely would you kindly move into place' or two words to thoose effect? That would get me banded if I posted them.

... on a sandwich spread with spam.

Lots and lots of spam....
Dont mention Spam, you will get Crash going with a lot of pictures,
