I just checked the average temperature in LA for the week before we sail:

Average high= 85

Average low=66

I guess it can get slightly chilly at night.

But are they comparable to those temps in our area?

Although, good news for EVERYONE. All reports are that the crowds are way below normal right now. The economy is really taking a toll on the parks.

Sounds great to me! That is why we are going to be at the parks on the 13th & 14th hoping to avoid the weekend crowd.

Not sure if WDW relaxed the rules, but at DL, there were so many complaints about people not being able to use their Dream Fastpasses (were either on their way out of the park or the rides weren't using FP that day) that they will now allow you to use them on any day, as long as the Dreams promotion is still going on. I've verified this with a few Dream CMs and through reports on various Disney boards where folks have used their Dream FPs days/months after they were awarded them.

That is good. We were lucky and got ours around 9:30 on an early entry day at MK. We used all that we wanted to...and then some since DH was the only one who wanted to ride spash mountain. We just rotated them.

For anyone planning on shipping items to your hotel or to the port:

I just checked with my shipping department, shipping via UPS from NY to CA via ground takes 5 days, not including weekends. Based on this, I have to have anything that I am shipping out to CA to them no later than 8/7 (next Thursday) in order for it to be received 8/14.

I believe you can get information directly from the UPS site as to what the shipping times are from your neck of the woods to CA.

The dates they are currently using for anyone looking to move their booking to 2010 is Dec 5 and Dec 6 in a gty room for the category you prefer

Yep - I just wish they would change the rebooking process so it wouldn't affect the dates making the prices higher on those sailings

Yes, things are slightly different at DL.

Also, with regular FPs, you don't have to use them in the exact hour that is printed. You can't come back early, but you can come back any time that same day.

I've also done this at WDW, but with a few warnings of "try to come back on time next time".

Hmmm....the CMs at WDW have never given us a problem and one even told us that the end time didn't matter, the FPs never expire. That is how we do so much in a day. DH is our FP getter during the day and we save them for the really busy times.

This time in 2 weeks we will be at Orlando International Airport waiting to go thru who knows what Last time I flew was around 1999 so I have never been subjected to all these rules.

Time to go thru the rest of the lists.

Arlene.. we will probably be check more than others since we are flying one way.. it happened to us in the May 05 Repo.. You will notice when you check at each checkpoint will put a different mark on your boarding pass.. so we are prepared..

I think I'm getting a little stressed - I had a dream that the Pirate Bus took everyone not to the Port but to Puerta Vallarta and to the zip line tour location. And - they provided a picnic lunch for everyone!!

Thanks Tracy. I'm like you, there's only 2 of us, so it's not such a big deal. Plus, like I said, I've already got 2 in the books so I don't need any more.

Have you thought about cancelling the two, getting the refund, then booking 2 at 1/2 off and pocketing the difference for now (understanding you have to make difference up later)?
