Where'd you get the pillow case? That's a great idea.

no... no... no... Our Captain doesn't do green.

We're plugging along (with a huge pile downstairs of stuff to pack). I have buckets of work to do before we leave, but I'm really ready for vacation.

We got it from the Ebay person who does the fish extenders, gradysmommy(sp?)

This time in 2 weeks we will be at Orlando International Airport waiting to go thru who knows what :lmao: Last time I flew was around 1999 so I have never been subjected to all these rules.

Time to go thru the rest of the lists.

Arlene, we usually drive to Florida but 2 years ago we flew. Of course they chose us to put through the ringer. They searched us from head to toe. I thought they were going to do body cavity checks next. Johnna was practicly in tears. I just don't understand. They chose a family of 4 with 2 little girls to body search. Haven't flown since. This should be interesting.

That's his everyday speedo. The special hot pink sparkly one is for princess night.

Is there a task force leader for the speedo parade? Because I wanted to sign up.

What a morning!!! A new month and one less house to think about. :) We closed on our old house yesterday. I can't believe it! We did have to drop a bit more than we wanted to but that is better than having it for another year or more with the market today. Perfect timing too since now we only have to worry about our current home while we are gone. Part of me is sad. We lived there for 12 years...we got engaged, married, had our children...a ton of wonderful memories and now we won't have access to it. I know those memories are in our hearts but now I am feeling some of what DD has been going through the past few weeks since we got an offer. The people who bought it are very nice though...a young couple who are engaged. They are both agents and this is their first home so they were really excited being on the other side of the closing table. :)

Congrats Lisa! Write down all those wonderful memories and pictures too. It is so fun to look back on old houses, cars and neighborhoods! I wish you many wonderful new memories! :wizard:

Well that ruins my surprise on Princess night ...

ohhh my....... :scared:

DD27 and her boyfriend came over for dinner last night and broke the news. They have finally set a date for their wedding. They have been together for a few years and have been talking marriage but had not set a date. They are getting married on July 11, 09. They said I could give them a Disney Cruise for their honeymoon. :rotfl2: He is a great guy and is very good with her son. I will have to find something special for them on this cruise.

ahhhh.....how special! Congratulations! We would be thrilled to get this news from our DS24. We love his girlfriend and have no doubts they will get married....he's just waiting for the right moment and we keep hinting that this cruise would be the perfect time....LOL

I also just noticed that for Dreams Unlimited clients they are still offering the double onboard credit for 2009 bookings through August 31 so you can get the 10% off, Disney onboard credit and Dreams onboard credit of double the usual amount if you book onboard!
so you'd re-book onboard for the 1/2 deposit, onboard credit and 10% off, then transfer it to DU for their double onboard credit?

But if you did that, do you have to sail by 8/31/09 or just book by that date?

We've never booked while onboard, so trying to figure it all out.
Flow chart anybody?? :lmao:

You would have to book with DU when you book onboard (when they ask if you want to use your travel agent, you would indicate yes and DU). You can book any available date, but it must be booked by August 31, 2008 (while we are onboard).

I will be making the final updates to these lists tonight. Please be sure to check the threads on the Pirate Zone and make sure your information is correct.

Who's Doing What? located in the Itinerary section. Let us know what excursions you have, Palo reservations, Spa appointments, etc. Then check the list to see if anyone will be joining you. The final list will be published and available for download this weekend.

Grown Up Princesses located in the Sea Day 7 section. Sign up on the list if you will be participating. There may be a few trinkets for those on the list.

Thank you for keeping track of these! It is fun to see who is doing what and has also helped to research other options.

Don't want to burst anyone's bubble - but at WDW at least, those dream fast passes are only good on the day they're issued. The date is even stamped on them. Could easily be different for DL - just thought I'd mention it.

I see someone posted that the rules ARE different at DL - that's great news!!

Yes, things are slightly different at DL.

Also, with regular FPs, you don't have to use them in the exact hour that is printed. You can't come back early, but you can come back any time that same day.

I've also done this at WDW, but with a few warnings of "try to come back on time next time".

Good to know. I do have a TA but they don't offer onboard credit, so I'm missing out on the great Dreams OBC for this trip. Didn't want to go through the hassle of switching TAs this time around, especially since she booked me at Tier 1 with a room number from Day 1.

But the 2 bookings I'm holding are not with anyone right now. :rolleyes1

Wow, really? We never cared much at Safaris what time you came back as long as the date was the same. I know Soarin' can be pretty strict about it because it backs up so bad and I wouldn't be surprised to hear that they're strict at Toy Story Mania at DHS as well.

We had this happen on our way home from DL at LAX in 2003:scared1: . Not fun and DD was freaking out (she was 7) and so was I. They marked our boarding passes and said we had to have them stamped by security or we won't be allowed to board. Thought it was just some new procedure until we hit security. Some random check thing. Flown 4 times since and nothing - I sure watch them issuing the board passes now.

Do you know what happens to the double OBC if you end up switching to a later cruise date?

ETA: I just looked at the DU site and it says the double OBC is good for all 2009 sailings. I guess if we moved it to 2010, we wouldn't get the double OBC.

For anyone planning on shipping items to your hotel or to the port:

I just checked with my shipping department, shipping via UPS from NY to CA via ground takes 5 days, not including weekends. Based on this, I have to have anything that I am shipping out to CA to them no later than 8/7 (next Thursday) in order for it to be received 8/14.

I believe you can get information directly from the UPS site as to what the shipping times are from your neck of the woods to CA.

Back to your normally scheduled fluff.

Do you think it would be possible to book a dummy date onboard for a cruise on the Magic, but eventually have the booking moved to one of the new ships?
That's what we want to do!

I don't either; but, I'm not going to sweat it! :rotfl2:
:rotfl2:
Entertaining? Not sure.

Relatively harmless? Probably.

As long as they don't go to that next step and decide on naked rugby! :lmao:
:scared1: or should it be :woohoo:

 It sounds like quite the bittersweet day for you.
It's actually Caroline, not Carolyn.....close but not the same.....you're still unique!!!
OK, good!

Congrats to your DD! That is very exciting about her engagement!

Today is DH's birthday, the big 41! For 3 months he is now older than me which makes me feel special. Yes, it is all about me!

Tonight is the Twilight party and DD is excited to go to the party and get her new book. I wonder if she will have it finished before the trip???;)

I think we finished our shopping this week. I got DS some new dress shoes on sale for $12!

We don't have long formals either, but we do have nice dresses. I also got a great skirt at Macy's for $5.00! I love bargains! Well, off to exercise so I still fit in the dress I have, do some chores, bake birthday cake, etc. Have a great day everyone and Happy August!:cool1:
Alana and I are headed to Barnes & Noble tonight for our party!

ATTENTION WENCHES

The voting for the Wenches' Parrot Cay Lunch concluded with the majority voting for 8/21.

So, Any Wenches interested - we will be at Parrot Cay at NOON on Thursday 8/21.

They did that to my mom not long after 9/11. We were flying down to WDW that December and my mom came with us - she was the only one picked from our party to go through it and believe me when I tell you they went through EVERYTHING! The took her to a sectioned off area, did a full body wand, pat down and then went through all her carry-on items. It must of taken them about 15 mintues for the whole procedure.

I had to get wanded once - apparently underwire bra's can set off the metal detector.

If you switch it to another date in 2009 you would still get the double OBC, but if you switch to a 2010 date, you would get the promotion at the time for 2010. When the new dates are released, DU usually offers something more than the usual OBC for those dates.
