8/17/08 Captain Jack's Repossession Repo Cruise to PC thru TPC #12

Try again..ours didnt work yesterday and now it is showing for delivery Friday! It says it was sent 3 day so possibly it wasn't in the mail when I checked last night.

Nope...still nothing. We are going to be the last to get them once again...but who cares as long as we are on the ship...right?

LOL! That reminds me of our third cruise. Someone a few tables over kept talking to their kids on their walkies. She had a problem hearing them and kept talking louder and louder. I glanced around at others who were doing the same thing at the time and I think that we were all ready to yell at her what her kid had told her.

We were on the Wonder and I went to the buffet on deck 9 and couldn't hear them tell me they were in Parrot Cay for breakfast

See, on this ship I will know soooo many more people I will just ask a fellow pirate to get their location for me

We don't use the radios for extended conversations, just to touch base

I'll be relying on DH for this mostly as my hearing is getting steadily worse. Cochlear implant in my future

Same here. I don't think a day goes by that something about the cruise isn't mentioned. DH's eyes show that he is getting excited although he doesn't admit it much. DD12 has always been excited about going. DS13 is a different story - he alternates between showing some mild interest to it being the worse thing that is happening in his life - I'm hoping he'll be fine once we get on the plane - god I hope so.

We leave 3 weeks today!

It must be the age - my DS is 13 too and doesn't show much excitement. One day I asked him if he was looking forward to the trip and if he was starting to get excited for it, he said he was and I responded that he didn't look or act like it - his response? "I'm excited on the inside."

We leave 3 weeks from tomorrow!

I decided to cancel the DCL Alcapulco tour and cliff divers because the response I got from my family (especially DS14) was so indifferent when I asked them about it I decided it just wasn't worth the money

OK, so DH has gone & bought an apple mac book. I have recollections of talk about this several threads ago, but never followed it & can't even remember who had them. Anyway, DH would appreciate an hour of a mac book users time on the cruise to help him get to grips with it. In return there will be rum or whatever else the bar is currently serving.

I just talked to the travel nurse about this - she said as long as we're staying in Cartegena just for the day - should be no problem.

Just remember in Mexico, any drinks you order that have ice in them can have disasterous results for you later in your trip!

Chrissie thanks for the heads up about O.N.! I ended up buying another dress, even though I didn't really need it, but for $20 wth! I am also very hard to fit (think pear shaped) & I was having a heck of a time. I finally found a formal dress on JC Penney that is petite yet wide so hopefully it will fit & I ordered one from O.N. & another on-line store which are similar but one is white & one is purple. I usually don't like to buy things on-line but after shopping for so many dresses, I pretty knew what I NEEDED to find. Something that can be pulled tight at the top & is wide on the bottom.

I am glad it was of use! On dress I am wearing for semi night I got a few months ago for $20 and I just bought another bathing suit (I like the way their suits fit me!) plus I bought a few other things! It was so tempting to buy another dress they had some real nice ons for decent doughage!

Gee glad to know I'm not the only one dealing with a family that lacks excitement! Funny because my DD14 is also the LEAST excited.

They'll catch up....eventually
DS14 didn't really get into our last cruise until the first night

I'm sure there is some method, but they certainly aren't going in the order of room assignments. I had a room assignment by 8:20 a.m. (Eastern) on 01/31/07. 4:20 a.m. Alaska time.

Maybe they are going in the reverse order? We had a stateroom at 9:15 am ET on 1/31/07 and still nothing showing on the UPS site. We can always hope for a move I guess. LOL!

Just read this on the trip report thread. Looks like they were on the Magic last week. I think I am glad we are not going to Cabo Wabo.

I was on this cruise too with my family. It was Norovirus. I had it so bad that I needed bags of IV fluid and my arms are a MESS from them blowing the veins. I had a shot in my rear for nausea, and was so weak I needed a wheelchair to get to the health center. My husband and son also got it, and we were quarantined. It is confirmed that it came from the restaurant Cabo Wabo in Cabo San Lucas.
I have NEVER been so sick in my life, and I will NEVER go back to Mexico. Not like we ate in a dive - that restaurant is very "Americanized" and owned by Sammy Hagar.

Which TR? I wonder how it was confirmed to come from Cabo Wabo?

It wasn't flu, flu would have had people knocked out for a week unable to move. More likely another virus.

If I remember correctly, it was a few weeks before we cruised in 2006 that DCL had an outbreak and by the time we got on, no problems. I think they do a great job with disease prevention and we will be fine.
