Wow - moving pretty fast today! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: My docs will be here Friday!!! My co-workers thought I was crazy when I got excited. :lmao: They just don't understand!

I have finally started getting ready for this trip. My clothes shopping is done. I just have to check out my husbands wardrobe and see what he is going to take. I bought most of my over the counter meds and I bought all of the boys school supplies.
My sister and I have to work on our FE gifts still.

It's getting closer! I can't wait!

flu...

Just read this on the trip report thread. Looks like they were on the Magic last week. I think I am glad we are not going to Cabo Wabo.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was on this cruise too with my family. It was Norovirus. I had it so bad that I needed bags of IV fluid and my arms are a MESS from them blowing the veins. I had a shot in my rear for nausea, and was so weak I needed a wheelchair to get to the health center. My husband and son also got it, and we were quarantined. It is confirmed that it came from the restaurant Cabo Wabo in Cabo San Lucas.
I have NEVER been so sick in my life, and I will NEVER go back to Mexico. Not like we ate in a dive - that restaurant is very "Americanized" and owned by Sammy Hagar.

Sounds like one of the more challenging cruises overall. Hopefully all this will be resolved by our trip.

Just a drive by posting..

DH said we got the docs :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

On another note, John called me and he and Cheryl had to dash to be with their son as he has to have an angiogram tomorrow.Seems the cardiologist found something. So send her some pixie dust. I will be calling her after I leave work tonight.

I'm sure you went for the pirate and see I have many pages to ketchup with.:goodvibes

Tell her we are thinking of her!

Yes..but does it prevent Norovirus? :rotfl2:

G'mornin' pirate:s

Thanks for all the great birthday suggestions everyone!

Me too. :sad2:

I'm slightly concerned because I haven't received anything from DCL about this cruise. I didn't get the pre-cruise planning thing or even the e-mail when they tried to jack up the PC charges.

I know I'm on the cruise!

Me neither. Nothing ever from DCL, not in the UPS system. Oh well, I guess we're in the same boat.
:rotfl:

I am curious. Whatever happend to windermerejudy, who started the first cruise meet thread back in January 2007?:confused3

Don't know yet if someone else answered, but the last I'd heard from her, they canceled this cruise and were taking one on another cruise line.

ABOLUTELY WONDERFUL NEWS!

Now, I'm getting excited.

As a lot of you know, I am staying on board for the 5-Day cruise after our Repo cruise.

When I booked that cruise, I booked into a room and requested the same room for the Repo as well, but was given GTY status.

Well, when the GTY's were assigned last week, I ended up in 6632. I thought, DRAT (actually, was a bit stronger than that! :) ), I'm going to have to move.

There were a couple offers of room swaps, but speaking with my travel agent (DVC) and DCL, they made it sound like it would be easier to build and maintain an ice rink in hell rather than change rooms on the Repo cruise.

So, we began to go to work on the 5 day cruise. Just today, I was told that my room number for the 5-Day cruise was switched to 6632, so I can remain in my room and not have to pack and move to another when we get into PC on September 1st. I'm psyched!

Just wanted to share that happy news with you!

There's always more than one way to skin a cat, huh?? (sorry cat lovers, I meant no malice!)

Good for you!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

If you complete all the paperwork online, do you actually need any of the physical paperwork? My TA is not always that good about getting us our papers and I think they're always sent to her. I checked on the UPS site, but it doesn't recognize the reservation number.

Cheryl and John, hope the angiogram shows nothing serious with your son:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

No, if you fill out and print everything online, you don't need anything -- you can even get tags for your luggage at the port and just write your cabin number on them.

Hi everyone ... Just wanted to thank you all for your kind wishes. Mom is doing as well as can be expected. She is in a lot of pain, but they can't do anything until she is off the coumadin. She is also suffering from Pancratitis, which I believe is caused by the inflammation from the Gall Bladder. I felt so useless last night, as it is hard to see her in such pain and knowing that you can't do anything to help. I live an hour and a half from the hospital. I don't know if I can make it there tonight, but will definitely be on the phone to talk to her. My brother Chris is a little confused being at my place, but he is so happy-go-lucky, that as long as he has his movies, he is fine. He doesn't like hospitals at all, so he was quite happy to leave and come to my place.

So sorry your Mom is so ill! Best wishes for a quick recovery! :wizard:

Try Oldnavy.com too...they actually have some decent dresses and other items at a good price..I am hard to fit because of height and size and ON works....

Chrissie

Chrissie thanks for the heads up about O.N.! I ended up buying another dress, even though I didn't really need it, but for $20 wth! I am also very hard to fit (think pear shaped) & I was having a heck of a time. I finally found a formal dress on JC Penney that is petite yet wide so hopefully it will fit & I ordered one from O.N. & another on-line store which are similar but one is white & one is purple. I usually don't like to buy things on-line but after shopping for so many dresses, I pretty knew what I NEEDED to find. Something that can be pulled tight at the top & is wide on the bottom.

No one in my family is excited yet:confused: I think maybe it is because I have been talking their ears off for more than a year:rolleyes1
Ok DH is a little excited and DD11 is getting there. DS14 is too cool to show excitement:rolleyes:

Gee glad to know I'm not the only one dealing with a family that lacks excitement! Funny because my DD14 is also the LEAST excited.

Yay we should get our docs on Thursday! Geez I've been gone a day and a half and you guys did like 20 pages! Geez! We visited the GI doc (a brand new one to us) and he ordered all sorts of tests on DD to rule stuff out. Keep your fingers crossed for us that they all come back normal!

I'm keeping everything crossed for you! Hope all goes well!

Ok, off to fix lunch then prepare for my interview. It's at 2pm PST.

Best of luck Monica!!! pixiedust:

good thing most of this crowd is just planning on drinking!

:rolleyes1

OMG I am so sorry to hear this! Send Cheryl my best & I'm definitely sending lots of pixie dust her way! :tink:

Drat Drat & Double Drat!!!

I just bid on the wrong thing on Ebay and I'm winning. Oh drat!

DS8's tux jacket is way too big, but the pants fit. I took him to the tailor and it is going to be less $$ to just buy a smaller tux and mix and match the jacket and pants.

So what did I just do???

I bid on a size 6 tux with freaking tails! Not a normal jacket. Tails! Ugh.
I really, really, really hope someone outbids me in the next 10 hours.

Don't sweat it only the really cool kids wear tails.:cool2:

Astaire made the cool all he needs is "white tie" and he will make all he young ladies swoon:cloud9:

I actually own a set but this trip I decided to forgo the infavor of luggage space for my boots and jerkin:laughing:

I was on the CDC website today and it looked like they were recommending the Yellow Fever vaccine for anyone visiting Colombia. I remember everyone discussing vaccines several times, but I don't remember this one coming up. Did anyone get it?:confused3

I just talked to the travel nurse about this - she said as long as we're staying in Cartegena just for the day - should be no problem.
