8/17/08 Captain Jack's Repossession Repo Cruise to PC thru TPC #12

:cool1:

Just switched my precruise hotel reservations and saved $160.

Sorry I'm not going to be able to try the Park Place Inn but it always ends up being more expensive than others in the area. When I booked in April, it had the best price. But I'm now at the Camelot which I've stayed at before and really like.

Monica, We recently picked up the HYATT REGENCY for only $41 on Priceline! Our friends also got it for $41 and $45 in the past few weeks. maybe you'd like to consider gambling with this? However, once you get a bid accepted you cannot back out! Plus... at the Hyatt they have a $15 a day parking fee... which I circumvented by walking across the street to park in the Target parking lot - after dropping off (or picking up) the spouse ND kids.

I've gotten the Hyatt for just about that price. But this trip, I'd really rather be closer to the park. I'm driving down, but turning the car in the morning after we arrive. I know I can take the shuttle, but I'd rather be able to walk.

HELP!

OK, so I've known since we booked this cruise that DS9 will turn 10 onboard (Aug. 30). But now I am stressing over what to DO about it!! It is noted in our reservation, so there should be a suitable fuss at dinner for him, - 250 or so pirates singing happy birthday should be fun! But what about the rest of the day? Does DCL have birthday buttons like in the parks?

I'm not lugging presents with us. We don't do much in the way of "stuff" gift anyway - family and friends send them too much "stuff"! Since it is towards the end of the cruise, I may buy something he has his eye on.

Sooo, what do I do for the kid's birthday??? He's a heavy sleeper. Maybe I could decorate the room in the middle of the night?? Balloons pack small & would be fun in the room. Anyone up for a balloon blowing party in the wee hours of Aug. 30??? Deck 2 forward elevator area is close to our room.

How many balloons do you think it would take to fill a Cat 9???

Any other suggestions?

Are you planning to decorate your cabin door? DS turned 9 on embarkation day of the 2005 EB repo and this is what I did to our door:

DisneyPanamaCanalCruise078-1.jpg

Used the Mickey Heads from Home Depot and curling ribbon to make "9 balloons" and cut up an old Arthur Happy Birthday banner. Inside I strung 4 rolls of crepe paper all over the room and it was just perfect for him.

I will agree with everyone who said up until right before dinner the evening of your DSs bday, remind EVERYONE involved that you are expecting a cake. They made me go to dining changes when we boarded to tell them it was a bday celebration that night and they still forgot!

DS did get a bday button and the sticker on his shirt was from the CMs at checkin for the kids clubs so I don't know how much of this was because his bday was actually the first day. This year Wed the 20th is his day and I am going to pretty much do the same as before.

BTW, the Mickey bday paper I printed on at the bottom of the first picture is actual printed paper I just added the text. A wonderful DISer sent it to me in 2005 and I have some sheets left to share with the first few people to PM me and I will be happy to mail it to you.

Hey Melissa, another wench not at Wenchfest :sad1: . I gotta get over there and get caught up.

Did you get your cabins all straightened out??

:sad2: Nope, home taking classes this summer. I wish I was at Wenchfest.

Eh, more or less. As of right now, we're staying in the ones we were assigned, but were told by DCL to keep checking the website to see if another cat. 6 opens, and also, they'll keep checking and call us if one does. Not exactly the answer we were looking for, but better than nothing, I guess.

Love the idea for the HD mickey's.

How did you do the font in the first picture?? I love the multi colors.

Hmmm...it shows it being delivered on 6/30 in WV.
Well that's weird..........

Thank you! :goodvibes

They are called *city shorts* and I saw some at Marshalls last week. :)
Oh.. city shorts huh? I wonder if they don't look as good (as they look on her) on short and heavier people? LOL I'm wondering if the shorts wouldn't look as good on ME. :lmao:
Hey Stephanie- did you get my email?

Two more Leos here:

Me 8/15
DS 8/20

Michelle
More and more Leos..... that's a lot of leos on the cruise. :rotfl:

Debi, I love that red dress!
Ditto!
i've said it before when I saw the pictures before- but I really do love that dress! I think because I think it might look good on me like it does on her...... I want that dress. LOL

Bummer, hotel mate. We only stay at Park Place because I can get a bed for everyone (2 queens and a sofabed). Saves the squabbling between the kids. So worth the extra few dollars for DH and I.

>>> UPS could not locate the shipment details for your request. Verify your information and try again.

I got exactly the same thing. I'm guessing it will go to my TA anyway and she'll probably send it to us at DLH. We didn't receive it last time at all but it wasn't a problem.

All I can tell you is that you will be eating with a couple with no children this time around!!!:flower3: :flower3:

I'm not worried and we wouldn't mind children at the table anyway - as long as they don't look like they are about to hurl their meal at us. :rotfl:

I'm looking forward to finding you which poor suckers got stuck with us  I need to send them our condolences! :lmao:

Love those photos- they are spectacular!
Is she wearing dressy shorts or a skirt? If those are shorts- i need to find some classy looking shorts like that! :)

I have two pair of shorts like those. Sadly, on my stubby legs they don't quite look as good. But I'm wearing them anyway!

I guess that doesn't work for everyone..mine says it was delivered on June 30 to Mo.....so...I am hoping that's not me :)

I have a TA tho..so I am sure it doesn't work for me.

My TA instructed them to send the docs directly to me, instead of to her first. It worked for the Mexican Riviera cruise.
Mine don't show up on the UPS site either. Oh well. They'll get here eventually.

My DH is another Leo! So add him to the list.

How often do people get seated with other families? On our only other Disney cruise we had our own table for 6 and there were many tables of families of 4. Is it just simply that cruise wasn't full, or is there a magic number?

Thank you all for your warm welcome! Our DD9 is reading the kids' thread and is excited about jumping in there too.

SO - the tension mounts as we all ask ourselves, who will be dining with Paula, Robert and Marian?

SO - the tension mounts as we all ask ourselves, who will be dining with Paula, Robert and Marian?

We do promise to be on our best behaviour - or at least I will be, I can't really speak for the other two. I always threaten that if they don't behave themselves that they can plan their own darn trips! :rotfl:

Long ago, when sailing ships ruled the waves, a captain and his crew were in danger of being boarded by a pirate ship. As the crew became frantic, the captain bellowed to his first mate: "Bring me my red shirt!" The first mate quickly retrieved the captain's red shirt, which the captain put on and led the crew to battle the pirate boarding party.

Although some casualties occurred among the crew, the pirates were repelled. Later that day, the lookout screamed that there were two pirate vessels sending boarding parties. The crew cowered in fear, but the captain, calm as ever, bellowed: "Bring me my red shirt!" And once again the battle was on. The captain and his crew repelled both boarding parties, although this time more casualties occurred.

Weary from the battles, the men sat around on deck that night recounting the day's occurrences when a young ensign looked at the captain and asked: "Sir, why did you call for your red shirt before the battles?" The captain, giving the ensign a look that only a captain can give, exhorted: "If I am wounded in battle, the red shirt does not show the wound and thus, you men will continue to fight unafraid." The men sat in silence marveling at the courage of such a man.

As dawn came the next morning, the lookout screamed that there were pirate ships, 10 of them, all with boarding parties on their way. The men became silent and looked to the captain, their leader, for his usual command. The captain, calm as ever, bellowed: "Bring me my brown trousers!"

Genny....

Just you and Pete wait .... I'll get around to FIXING Pete's mug in a day or so.... so just you keep your eyes' glued to this "BAT CHANNEL".... or I just might PM ya in advance to be sure of your "approval" before I post it publicly.

<wink>

Hey, M

I just got lucky...

... plus I showed Alicia that posting and she got a really good chuckle out of it. Good thing she didn't post a REPLY to my posting...

< wink >

As it stands ... if she HAD posted anything I'm sure everyone would have in turn gotten a good chuckle - or - some of your eyes might have been watering from that burning sensation in the eyes!

Attention!

Magnetic Memo
TASK FORCE

We have 131 cabins on the fish extender list - however - we have enough supplies for (I believe) 200 cabins. SO I figure we'll hit as many as we can plus get ALL of the fish extender cabins. Anyone have a list of ALL the cabins yet?

We'll be conducting our planning for the MEETING aboard ship to distribute supplies and so on the FIRST sea day ..... 30 minutes after the soon to be announced childrens' meet.... at that same place as their meeting. I figure this will allow any of us with kids (who are participating) to not conflict - and also knock off 2 birds with one stone. The only cavet is IF the kids event concludes too close to the time when many of us might need to retire to prefare for dinner and the formal attire of the nite. IE... if the kids event was at 3PM this might end at 4PM and leave us with no time to meet as we should be preparing for dinner! Well.... if the kids' evenrt were set for 3PM then we'd switch and meet at 2PM. This make sense? At any rate, I'll PM everyone again... and the thread on the pirate zone is here....
