If you're booking a rental car at Port Cape Canaveral...... what time do you put as your pick up time?
How close is the rental place at the port?
Do you just like send off one person to get the vehicle and bring it back to you?
ABOUT HOW LONG is the drive to MCO so we'll know when to say we'll be bringing the rental vehicle to MCO? (last time we did limo and totally weren't paying attention to the drive or what time we got in the vehicle. But all I know is it sure didn't seem like a long drive and we sure got to MCO way earlier than we expected...)

is it difficult to drop off the rental vehicle then take your family and luggage to the airport terminals?

I just want to make sure I book this right and that it will work for us. It's cheaper than any other transportation for all of us- but..... just want to ake sure I book it right and that it's not a major PITA to do a rental vehicle vs. some sort of other planned transportation.
?

When you get off the ship the shuttle busses for the rental car companies will be there waiting.

I usually use Avis, but last April we used Budget & loved them.

I bring the whole gange on the shuttle. It's just easier for me.

It's about an hour to MCO. Straight shot. I map quested the directions last year & they were spot on.

You return the car right at the airport & then just walk from the garage across the street to the terminal. Very easy.

ATTENTION!!

Okay Wenches - Tom has a poll over on the Pirate Zone - please vote on which day to have the Wenches' Parrot Cay Lunch.

So far it appears 8/21 is the favorite!

Ok...question..I am trying to count outfits and dinner dress...

On Embarcation Night and PC day..those pirates who ordered shirts...are you wearing them into the dining room?

I am trying to fugre out if I need to pack diffent shirts to go with the pants we are wearing. Also..I have denium colored capri's for those days..they are not jeans..will I be able to wear them into the dining room? I always bring skirts and sweaters for the dining room but this time..I want to go to casual dining..well..casual.

thanks!

HI,

There was a great suggestion in Chat - that although we weren't able to get a Palo Brunch = what about all of us havng lunch together at Parrot Cay?
Our Brunch was to be on 8/23 - how about having Lunch the same day??

I'll pm the 24 Brunch Wenches'. Are there any other Wenches' interested????

What do y'all think, Wenches??

I like to join.. please count me in....:goodvibes

Monica, are you wearing shorts for zip lining? I bought capris for this because of the harness. Do yoou have any experience with this?

Last time we did this we wore shorts, not a problem at all. It was very hot up there in the jungle.

I have so much to pack since we are going to be in LA for a week before the cruise.. How do I get all that in a suitcase??lol I really think I can get away with one big suitcase each and 2 garment bags.. gowns, suits tuxes.. Oh my and the shoes..

How many pairs of shoes is reasonable to bring. I think I have to take 6-7. HONEST!!!:confused3

Aren't shoes the worst for packing? They take up so much space in the suitcase!

I'm wearing sneakers to travel and in my suitcase are flip flops, dressy sandals for dinner (dressy for me anyway) and swim shoes. Luckily I'm the same size as my Mum so we will swap shoes occasionally.

Robert is wearing sneakers, and packing dress shoes for dinner, flip flops, canvas sand shoes and swim shoes.

Probably not. On PC day they'll be way sweaty.

We weren't planning to do wear them to dinner (late seating), but are interested to see what others are doing.

Maybe on Embarkation. Definitely not on PC day. I figured I will want/need a shower before dinner.

Random, yet cruise related question....

Has anyone attempted to predict our Character Breakfast day??

Assuming what we've heard is correct...the early linked group will be on PLA at 6:00...when would we have Character Breakfast??

M brings up a good point. I talked to DCL about the PJ breakfast, and I'm waiting for an e-mail that the 23rd will work well. But what if that's our character breakfast day? Should we plan a backup day for the PJ breakfast, just in case it's the same day?

Opinions?:confused3

Is anyone on Deck 8 with us>?>

Who ever did the outline with the ship an the names did an excellant job..Cant wait for the 8th floor to be displayed..

We will change our shirts for other clothes on embarkation day and PC day.. They will be to sweety and yukkie by then..

Also, my son and I plan on running around deck 4 on Monday, Thursday and Saturday mornings to keep us in shape and on track for our 5 k when we get back..All those days are sea days.. the last week it will be on Wednesday.. I hope to be up and on deck by 8-9am.. running for 30 min. Hopefully that will be closer to 3.2 miles if the heat doesnt get to me.

if anyone is interested let us know..

Wow, it is getting time for that already! Woo hooo! :woohoo:
I was not planning to wear the embarkation shirts to dinner (that's the only ones I bought for us), I was probably going to change soon after the DIS meets....don't know about my kids though...that's a good question.

I have worn denim colored capris before...not sure if I am bringing them this cruise, but there was one cruise I was pretty casual. On pirate night, we wear denim things....very casual night there.

Finally got the call I had been waiting on last week. I've got a phone interview Wednesday afternoon.

:cool1:

Yay!!! I am crossing everything I have for good luck!

If anyone has a Belk near them, they were having an amazing sale. I got DH two pair of Columbia shorts, pair of linen pants, pair of khakis, two shirts, Tommy Bahama silk sweater, two Gund teddy bears, two pairs of baby shoes for friends and a few other little rattles for $94! I was shocked when it all rang up. My bag was huge!! Unfortunately, I didn't find much for myself.

I have a Belk about a mile away so I will have to check this out. Thanks.
