Gotta love airline pricing structures! Fortunately for us the direct flights are actually less money as there is one less landing fee. We're paying $81 pp for a direct flight to LAX vs about $90 pp for an indirect to SNA.

That's a great deal!

We're flying into SNA now, instead of LAX. I think I'm actually happy about that. I heard it's a pretty easy airport to get around in.

Gotcha beat!

With my frequent flier miles, I paid $50 for a 1st class ticket from Chicago O'Hare to LAX on August 13th and then Orlando (MCO) to O'Hare on September 6th. I couldn't believe it!

The crowds that day and the additional $400 for our tickets is what made us decide to fly home Tuesday morning instead. The kids will start school Wednesday. Their school starts 8/25 but the principal said that they won't be counted absent because they don't miss until after they set foot on school property the first time the school year.

Lisa, do you think we are crazy for even attempting this? I swear I am not stressed out about anything regarding this cruise except the return trip home.

Yes, I'm an Eagle scout as well. In addition to Order of the Arrow, I was also involved with Mic-o-say which in Missouri is very similar to Order of the Arrow, but is limited geographically. Mic-o-say was started by the founder of the Kansas City Chiefs football team. Rumor has it that the KC Chiefs were named in honor of Lamar Hunt being the first Chief of the tribe. So, in essence the Chiefs are named after a part of the Boy Scouts.

I just noticed that you are in Thornton. One of my biggest accounts was based in Thornton when I worked for a furniture manufacturer and importer. American Furniture. They had some crazy commercials with animals but the owner was a really nice guy. I got to meet their group at the High Point Market a couple times. Are they still around?

Yes, American Furniture is still going strong out here. They've got several locations throughout the Front Range and all of their delivery trucks still have a picture of Jake and his lions. People here swear by it, but I really miss Nebraska Furniture Mart!

Well, if that was the actual point, you are right, but I am pretty sure that the point was to have a dashing dude along with us, and this picture really shatters that illusion . . . in all fairness, I could have found a better recent picture, but he really doesn't look like the Romancing the Stone era, and I thought this made the point and underlined it . . .

Todd - what time did you get to the store? I was at my ATT at 3 am and was #9 until 6:30 when family members began showing up - ended up #18. I was done and out the door in 20 minutes - I had no issues...
Ended up with the 16g white!!!

Real Cruise Questions

Hey everyone...I have some questions that I hope you can help me with. I have been on line most of the day, and still can't find all of the answers I currently seek....Maybe you can help.

1. What is the dress-code like for non formal dining? Esp. for children.

2 Does DCL have beach towels for use onboard?

3. Extra fee for the gym?

4. How do you possibly pack enough for 4 people for this type of cruise? If you figure in daytime and evening clothes...that's 30 outfits for each person.

5. Last....for now-what time is chat on Friday nights?

OMG!!!I forgot about ROCKFORD FILES! On the 4th we were sitting around talking about our favorite shows growing up. Mine were Cannon, Police Woman, Mannix, Hart to Hart, oh crud- the one w/ Susan St James and Rock Hudson, and I cannot believe I left off Rockford Files- it was my favorite.

Loved Heart to Heart! Also Love American Style, Courtship of Eddie's Father, Family Affair.

Real Cruise Questions

Hey everyone...I have some questions that I hope you can help me with. I have been on line most of the day, and still can't find all of the answers I currently seek....Maybe you can help.

I can say..I will be wearing skorts or capris with a nice top

2 Does DCL have beach towels for use onboard?
They have towels but they are not large size like a beach towel

3. Extra fee for the gym?
Not sure don't believe there is though
4. How do you possibly pack enough for 4 people for this type of cruise? If you figure in daytime and evening clothes...that's 30 outfits for each person.
We plan on doing laundry and mixing and matching
5. Last....for now-what time is chat on Friday nights?
