Yeah, I'm sure Rita will get along with them great. She may not see much of them though because she just turned 8 and she's bound and determined to go in her age group.. even though I really think she'd enjoy the club again with kids more her SIZE than her age. LOL She's very sociable as well, but I"m finding out this summer (with lots of visits from her various friends- all day, spending the night, etc.) that she's gotten quite BOSSY lately. We're working on nipping that in the bud. LOL I don't think she'd be that way on the cruise though...... only noticing it now when they are at her HOME. KWIM?

We purchased some DVC points and one of our perks was to stay at what is called the Mickey Penthouse at the DLH...they do not rent it out..it is given away during the year of a million dreams etc...so we have our night there this Sat. Had some issues confirming it and now are all set!

I accomplished stuff tonight...went to Walmart and bought all the clothes we still needed for the trip as well as new water shoes that fit for DD.

I started separating the lanyards - got about 1/2 done and then quit as I had a meeting...came home and DH had separated all the rest of the lanyards into their seperate envelopes and labeled each with the name, cabin number (or gty) and the number of lanyards inside!

I feel accomplished!

Wow..... no way my DH would even ATTEMPT to do something lke that let alone complete it for me. Way to go Pixie Dust's DH~!

For some reason I am starting to get panicky about the next 5 weeks.
Being on vacation a couple of weeks ago really showed me that my "back-ups" are just not "up-to-speed". I came back to a lot of issues I had to end up taking over. That means that I am going to have to work way more the next 5 weeks to get the particuraly needy clients taken care of so they can last w/ out me for 2 weeks. I normally work part-time so that is out for a while.
I had the idea last night of laying out the outfits for the girls and taking digital pictures of them. That way even though I cannot pack their clothes now, it will make it easier when I do pack. Print out a sheet of the outfits and put them in the suitcase.
My house/animal sitter called and said she will not be here on the day we leave. She is bringing over her friend that will take over for her that day but she was our ride to the airport so now that is gone. We are debating asking a neighbor (who has offered many, many times) or get a Super Shuttle.
I am still working on clothes and the cool door signs may be a "no-go". Also, I have no fish extender.
Is reality hitting anyone else about now?

I'm getting a little panicky too...... when I think about it and I try not to think about it. LOL It's just the longest vacation we've ever taken and I keep realizing more and more things I need to do, take care of, etc. in our absence and a bit overwhelmed on even thinking about how to pack for the long trip/etc. Usually by now I'm packed and ready to go this far before a vacation! LOL

Reality, panic, fear, nervousness, anxiety....you name it!

Just spent almost 2 hours on the phone with HP. Computer was working fine this morning. Took a break, then came back to it only to find that the Wireless Assistant was no longer working. It was as if my wireless card had been pulled out. The Device Manager didn't detect it, and nothing I did could restore it.

After going round and round with HP, finally found out that there is a known issue with certain model numbers (mine included) and the motherboard has to be replaced. It is a free replacement, but I'll be without my computer for a few weeks. Might actually take them longer because even though I had her note on there that my laptop screen doesn't work and you have to connect to an external monitor, I'm sure the tech geeks will ignore that and claim that I sent it in for the wrong type of repair. Unfortunately they want almost $300 to fix the screen and for that I can just get a new laptop (almost).

I've got an old desktop that I can use in a pinch while the other is being repaired, but it is so slow. It literally takes 25 minutes for it to boot up. I can go online, but each page loads so slow. For now, I'm still on the laptop, plugged into the desktop's monitor, with the modem plugged in since I can't go wireless.

So frustrating . . .

Gotta love airline pricing structures! Fortunately for us the direct flights are actually less money as there is one less landing fee. We're paying $81 pp for a direct flight to LAX vs about $90 pp for an indirect to SNA.

I just noticed that you are in Thornton. One of my biggest accounts was based in Thornton when I worked for a furniture manufacturer and importer. American Furniture. They had some crazy commercials with animals but the owner was a really nice guy. I got to meet their group at the High Point Market a couple times. Are they still around?

An 11:30am flight after a cruise? We have an 11:25am after the TOAL and have been wondering if we will make it on time. I'm not worried about getting off the ship in time (although the 2005 repo cruise it wasn't a fast disembarkation) but more worried about security at MCO on Labor Day. Do you take the bus to MCO, rental car or limo?

The crowds that day and the additional $400 for our tickets is what made us decide to fly home Tuesday morning instead. The kids will start school Wednesday. Their school starts 8/25 but the principal said that they won't be counted absent because they don't miss until after they set foot on school property the first time the school year.

With the airlines cracking down on over-weight luggage fees, I went out and picke dup a travel scale at Target. It's pretty small, but it weighs up to 50 pounds. If you're looking for one, they stock them near the luggage, and it cost $9.54. If it saves me from an over-weight baggage fee, it will be worth it.

Can I use it before the trip home!!! I know where you will be living!!

Frontier Airlines changed the flight we booked on 9/1 - from Orlando - to San Francisco. Our original time was 3:05pm - only one flight per day -

SOOOO - they changed it to 8:30 am!!!!

Needless to say - I had to change airlines - and pay more for the return fligt!!
Bummer.

United did that to me two years ago only they never told me til I looked up my ressie. That is why I got vouchers again from United.

great... Just got home from the store... The receipt had a recall notice for ground beef.,.. Apparently they're recalling all varieties, weights and sizes sold between 5-21-08 and 7-3-08. They may contain E.coli... Return product or empty container for a full refund. Who keeps the empty container??

We've been making a lot of burgers too.... Guess we're lucky we didn't get sick!

It has now been confirmed that I am a total idiot. Yeah, okay, some of you knew that.

And also, please forgive me for just a moment, but I want to say again that if I am not myself lately, I just wanted you to know about this....and to pray for this girl's family, and that of my friend.

I am always crazy and I don't have an excuse!!

Nowadays I get pretty extreme with meat preparation - the real problem if stuff is cooked propertly is contamination after the fact.

So basically as soon as the meat is put on the grill, every utensil and plate that I use before the food is cooked gets thrown into the dishwasher, packaging is tossed and the surface area cleaned, and I wash my hands, etc. If I use a spatula to turn the burgers, I'll clean them (or if BBQ hold it over the hottest part of the heat) after the first turning to make sure it's cleaned from the previous contact with raw meat.

I'm even more careful with chicken (salmonella can be just as unpleasant as E.Coli).

It does make for extra dishes and trash, but I think it makes a difference.

We still did not find out from CDC where or which strain DGD had of Salmonella. It can be deadly too according to my DS a microbiologist!!

Sorry, haven't been around for awhile. I am trying to ketchup...impossible...

Anyway, it is me! My DD will be turning 11 on Aug. 19th! I hope we make it into Cabo...

I have a had few issues at my salon..but everything has been handled wonderfully....

I would love to have an earlier time! We had a 5:15,landing at 9pm,now it's a 7:30 ish,landing at 11pm. Both with layovers in Denver.

Our flight to CA has been changed we leave later and have a layover in Dulles...not ideal we wanted direct but..it was a free flight so can't complain!
We leave boston at 2:30 and arrive in lgb at 8:45

My wedding dress was made by my mother who did an amazing job. I also have it stored in a special box and only have a son! I'm keeping it in case a future DIL or granddaughter might want to use it (or at least use parts of it). Since my mother made it, that just makes it more special for me.
