My son is in the order of the arrow.. and thankfuly he has not had to do that yet.. Are you an EAGLE as well.. My son is an EAGLE candidate now.. all he has to do is his project and he hope to have it done by the cruise..

My Dh, DS and I are part of Order of the Arrow.. You should be very proud of you son..what an accomplishment.. My DS was 15 when he made Eagle...

My Dh is still in scouting.. ASM... and loves every minute of it...:goodvibes

What is a BG pass.. DSIS is from Williamsburg and she never mentioned this to me..
Busch Gardens... If you get the Platinum pass (not the Fun Pass) it gets you in all the Busch parks except for Discovery Cove.

shopping alert....

Kohls is having a great sale... I went to get DS15 a dress shirt...and ended up with lots of other stuff (pj's, slacks and 2 shirts for DH, bathing suit for DD) and no dress shirt...LOL
Ton's of 50% off summer stuff and some great 60% and 70% off clearance racks. I love sale stuff!

Awww, Chrissie - I think your a pretty cool cucumber too :goodvibes .

I got my dress at a bargain outlet for $100 (for anyone around here that remember Arthur's). The bride's maid were from a bridal store and I had so many headaches with them, the store, not the BM's.

Hope you feel better.

I remember Arthur's.... I also remember going to get disney pewter things at Hudson pewter at their big xmas sale (those lines in the morning:scared1: ).... Ahhh the good old days!!!!

We have been in a cat 8 for both our previous cruises including the 2005 EB repo. I have a great photo that would show you the size but have no idea how to post it here. Porthole is probably 5' by 5' and I would say no for the banner because it would block your view if you decide to take a break from the heat and just watch from your cabin.

If you go to DCL website under staterooms deluxe with oceanview there is a virtual of the cat 8.

PM me if you want me to email you my photo.

Where are you getting married in SD? We live in Scripps Ranch and were married at All Hallows in La Jolla a longgggg time ago ;)

Michelle
Cool...one less thing to do! I'm a Graphic Designer, so if I was to do a banner, I'd go a little overboard! I was going to make a door magnet that says "Just Married..." and probably include our wedding "logo" on it. That's enough of a project to get done! Oh...we're getting married up in San Marcos, but we live down in the Clairemont area.

These look soooo cool. I am jealous that we came along too late to order. Everyone will look truly sauvy in this gear. pirate:

Carol
Me too...

I though Esteri had posted a link direct to the printer for individual orders for folks who missed the group thing.

Andy
..I was going to say that Esteri posted the info about the tshirt people, but I can't find it! It's quite a few pages back, I think. Can you search for posts on here or does someone know where it is? :confused3

Here's Esteri's post with a direct number to the printer. You can call and talk to them about prices for ordering items directly from them.

Wow..all that translating is wearing me out!

Sigh - I remember when I could do 20wpm....

DD loves choc chip cookie dough ice cream..I wonder if it is actually raw cookie dough...maybe I shouldn't let her have it...:)

I just looked at the ingredients of Dreyer's Cookie Dough Ice cream:

INGREDIENTS: milk, skim milk, chocolaty chip cookie dough [wheat flour, brown sugar, sugar, butter, eggs, margarine (partially hydrogenated soybean oil, soybean oil, water, salt, soy lecithin, whey, mono and diglycerides, beta carotene color, artificial flavor, vitamin A palmitate), chocolaty chips (sugar, bitter chocolate, cocoa processed with alkali, cocoa butter, coconut oil, corn syrup solids, soy lecithin, salt, natural flavor, milk), water, natural flavor, salt], cream, sugar, corn syrup, chocolaty chips (sugar, coconut oil, cocoa processed with alkali, partially hydrogenated coconut oil, cocoa, salt, soy lecithin, natural flavor), whey protein, egg yolks, tapioca maltodextrin, cellulose gum, mono and diglycerides, natural flavor, guar gum, carrageenan, dextrose, vitamin A palmitate, annatto color

I don't know if any germs could actually live in that....

My house/animal sitter called and said she will not be here on the day we leave. She is bringing over her friend that will take over for her that day but she was our ride to the airport so now that is gone. We are debating asking a neighbor (who has offered many, many times) or get a Super Shuttle.
I am still working on clothes and the cool door signs may be a "no-go". Also, I have no fish extender.
Is reality hitting anyone else about now? :scared:

I've just started putting together my stuff for packing. Luckily most of it I don't need between now and the trip - packing light weight clothing but its winter so I won't need my shorts right now LOL

We are going for 4 weeks so trying to balance what I'd like to take with what is practical. I'm aiming for 4 mix/match tops/bottoms and then a bunch of other clothing to travel in, wear to dinner and so on. Then there is all the swim gear, shoes etc, etc

Add that to the fact that my (new) suitcases are waiting for me in LA and I'm now thinking - what the heck am I gonna put this all this carp in? I'll be the bag lady doing the longhaul flight... or would a cardboard box be more stylish?

Oh and I'm also taking a large blanket for a friend in LA and a large soft sculpture doll to post to San Francisco. Still I guess that means my bag will get lighter once we get to LA.

And do not mention the fish gifts... good job there are 3 of us just to carry those!

Hi All!

Just wanted to quickly post about the Mid-West Mini Meet tomorrow. The current forcast has "Scattered T-storms" through the early afternoon. The percentage chance of precipitation is dropping throughout the day and is gone by 9PM so we should be fine for the fireworks.

Pamela

I hope you all have a great time at the meet. I confess I've been a little envious that some of you have others in your areas to meet with.

Anyone for a meet in New Zealand? No? I thought not :rotfl:

I know of a lot of unhappy apple geeks right now. :(

I was at our local mall an hour ago and there was a huge line outside the Apple store.

Another option to this is to scan it and email it to a Gmail or similar webmail account - then you can go to any internet cafe and print a copy. Good to do with travel insurance information too.

Actually, I would recommend against using Gmail or a webmail account for this. Email viewed with these accounts is not encrypted and is thus not secure.

If you have a corporate Email server that is secured, maybe. Otherwise, I'd stay with a secure remote drive such as xdrive.com.

I posted something over an hr ago and I didnt see it come up... But yes, i am very proud of my son as well. He called me today from BS camp and he is getting ready for the cruise by rock climbing. He too is 15 and hopes to get his EAGLE by the time we leave. His project is to make a memorial garden at his high school. His principle asked him if he could do that for his project. Now we are collecting bottles and cans for the cost of it. Some companies have come through with donations as well.

For any parents who has a son in scouts and they think they want to quite.. DONT LET THEM>> find another troop to keep them interested if you need to. Being an EAGLE SCOUT will open the doors for college and so much more.

Oh I was gonna share... DD Sydney is 18mo today!! Like Coral the time before and after she was born was full of worry and now she's doing great :)

Paula - I think most of the meets have been pretty small - Ours will be either 11 or 18 total people. Compared to the total DISers cruising, that is a tiny fraction! (You did have a "virtual" meet with DH at Kiva friends  )

I guess we live dangerously around here: We all eat raw cookie dough and cake batter (Me, DS9 & DH) and DH and I both eat beef medium-rare ...maybe a little closer to the rare side. However, we don't thaw meat all day on the counter and we are pretty careful with chicken. DH is good about grilling and the plates and such that touched the raw meat go right in the dishwasher.

My wedding dress was made by my mother who did an amazing job. I also have it stored in a special box and only have a son! I'm keeping it in case a future DIL or granddaughter might want to use it (or at least use parts of it). Since my mother made it, that just makes it more special for me.
