My DH says when he grills my steak he just passes it by the flame and takes it off. I used to eat my burgers that way too, but now it is just slightly pink. My hot dogs on the other hand I like blackened.



Congrats! No way am I going to take the time to translate all the Morse Code...I am too ADD for that chore.

We've had similar changes to our flight, too. AirTran has one non-stop between our home airport and MCO (orlando) each day. It's been from MCO at 11:30 and arriving home at 12:55 for YEARS!!! We've taken that flight home I can't tell you how many times. Just the other day, they changed the daily flight to leaving at 3 PM and getting hom at 5:30 PM (right in the middle of rush hour . . uggghhh!). Don't know if they figured they could get more biz passengers that way or what. We were kinda bummed. We like that you arrive mid day whether you were flying there or back. We've tried the trip with the stop over in Atlanta and it was torture! I've got too many chiefs and not enough indians in my family . . .LOL

An 11:30am flight after a cruise? We have an 11:25am after the TOAL and have been wondering if we will make it on time. I'm not worried about getting off the ship in time (although the 2005 repo cruise it wasn't a fast disembarkation) but more worried about security at MCO on Labor Day. Do you take the bus to MCO, rental car or limo?

Pirate race is when we get to any of the posts that end in 000 such as 1000, 2000 etc ..usually to 3000 before the thread closes.

Still love raw cookie dough, but I usually stay out to be safe. When I was a kid in boy scouts, I recall my Order of the Arrow ordeal where I had to fast for a day. The next morning, they gave us a glass of milk and a raw egg for breakfast! I bet they don't do that anymore.

For us, we're extra safe with the raw chicken, eggs, hamburger, etc. mainly because we've experienced salmonella in the family -- not fun.

My son is in the order of the arrow.. and thankfuly he has not had to do that yet.. Are you an EAGLE as well.. My son is an EAGLE candidate now.. all he has to do is his project and he hope to have it done by the cruise..

Unfortunately, as I understand it, it's not just about relationships. The IPhone is a GSM phone and currently in the U.S. only AT&T and T-Mobile are using GSM systems (last I heard). Does anyone have more up to date information?

Oh, that is just WRONG. I always thought it was a bit odd that the whole cell network in the US was NOT built using consistent standard, but hey, I'm the lady who gets made at the debit machine at the supermarket counter b/c everyone of them is Unique (how do I make this thiing do CREDIT and not just DEBIT . .yikes!!)

And didn't AT&T just buy out T-Mobile? That AT&T brand sure likes being a monopoly . . LOL

Michelle, I'm afraid I'm not much help. Most cruises we have opted to stay over one day so we didn't have to rush. I think the only time we didn't was on our first cruise. We took the 1st DCL bus and we were on the early embarkation (early dinner) so we were out of there by 8:30 AM. We made it in plenty of time for the plane, but then the plane was delayed for over 6 hours!!! However, that was back in 2000 prior to all the changes after 9/11.

We were concerned about the Labor Day exodus as well. That's why were spending one extra day. DH wanted to go to Aquatica since the kids and I had such a great time in May . .. we wanted to do it again (and it's free with our BG passes .. . Yeah)

I'm sure it will work out for you. Most security is understanding about which flights have to leave soonest

Thanks Theresa! Our kids start school Tuesday morning and since we are going back to Calif it's either leave at 11:25 and get in around 3 or the next flight isn't until much later and we don't get in until 10! We are flying rapid rewards tickets on SW so not an option to use another airline unfortunately.

It's a looong cold winter. Lots of time to plan fun stuff.
Our town had a 300 yard fun run because after 300 yards it isn't fun anymore. We have organized raffles around betting when the ice will melt and send a car crashing into a lake (same car every year, no fluids in it, and they fish it out in the spring). The whole town gets together every year to create a 5'-6' duct tape statue for the entrance to the hardware store.

I loved living in a place with a sense of humor.

I did too. Raw cookie dough and cake mix as well (remember licking the pot?). I don't recall ever getting sick.

Remember??? Umm, well yeah. Way back the last time I made cookies!

Just spent almost 2 hours on the phone with HP. Computer was working fine this morning. Took a break, then came back to it only to find that the Wireless Assistant was no longer working. It was as if my wireless card had been pulled out. The Device Manager didn't detect it, and nothing I did could restore it.

After going round and round with HP, finally found out that there is a known issue with certain model numbers (mine included) and the motherboard has to be replaced. It is a free replacement, but I'll be without my computer for a few weeks. Might actually take them longer because even though I had her note on there that my laptop screen doesn't work and you have to connect to an external monitor, I'm sure the tech geeks will ignore that and claim that I sent it in for the wrong type of repair. Unfortunately they want almost $300 to fix the screen and for that I can just get a new laptop (almost).

I've got an old desktop that I can use in a pinch while the other is being repaired, but it is so slow. It literally takes 25 minutes for it to boot up. I can go online, but each page loads so slow. For now, I'm still on the laptop, plugged into the desktop's monitor, with the modem plugged in since I can't go wireless.

We too are loyal Verizon customers. We're sort of "LOCKED IN" with them on account of thier FREE CALLING provision between Verizon customers. You see - we have a situation where EVERYONE in our family and MANY of ous business connections have REALIGNED to all have Verizon cell service.... so we WILL NOT use anything but Verizon now. So ... C'mon Apple .... and open up your relationships with other carriers - like Verizon - and I will probably run out to stand in line too for the next generation I-phone!

Me, too . .you can't beat the incalling plan. For years all of our friends and many of our business associates were on Nextel with the direct connect. Sometimes it was the only way to get ahold of folks. Now, I do more minutes (sometimes double) with the incalling on Verizon than I do regular minutes. It's nice that I know I call DH and talk all I want it and it doesn't cost a thing . . .LOL

Yep both of our familiesl are all verizon too. We use like 60min/mo (We have the family plan with my parents and the 2 of us). Sure wish they had a cheaper plan with fewer minutes!

DD loves choc chip cookie dough ice cream..I wonder if it is actually raw cookie dough...maybe I shouldn't let her have it...

I'd bet they use pasturized eggs for that! They have to be safe, I would think.

Cool we'll get ours in 2 weeks... For some crazy reason it takes that long to get here. Things tend to sit in Abq for a few days before going to Santa Fe and delivery
