OMG that's way worse than just making our flight there later! I hope that doesn't happen to us. :( :(

I would love to have an earlier time! We had a 5:15,landing at 9pm,now it's a 7:30 ish, landing at 11pm. Both with layovers in Denver.

I think I look pretty good in it. The cummerbund is not the color I thought it was, more of a pale sea green than a teal, but I have a black one and a paisley vest also. After the pants get hemmed, I will have Caro take a picture and will post it.

Sounds nice Andrew. I can't wait to see all you dapper men in your finery!!

Also make copies of your passport and leave some home so if you lose it they can fax it to you.

Scan the front page of your passport. Upload the file to an secure online service such as xdrive.com.

That way you can retrieve a copy of your passport instantly and securely from any location that has Internet access. :cool2:

They moved our morning flight 25 minutes earlier, but not the 2nd leg of our flight. It just makes for a longer layover, but it's not too bad. We still land in CA at a decent time. I just hope it stays that way.

That's why I love direct flights! We are flying into LAX vs SNA to avoid a layover. Figured the extra time in the car to DLR will be less than the layover.

I remember when I was a kid eating raw hamburg all the time......and my parents let me :scared1: :scared1:

I did too. Raw cookie dough and cake mix as well (remember licking the pot?). I don't recall ever getting sick.

I wonder what has changed?

1. Were our immune systems tougher (back before everything was anti-bacterial we may have been exposed to more stuff and thus better able to fight off bugs).

2. Was contamination less of a problem? Certainly there's a lot more antibiotic resistant stuff now, but was food generally cleaner back then?

3. Are we just being paranoid? We get all freaked out over a dozen cases in a country of 300 million. Perhaps the odds of getting sick really are similar to winning the lottery, and it was just as dangerous then as it is now, except now we're just more frightened and risk averse than people were then?

Probably a bit of all three, but I wonder which are the greater factors?

We wanted a direct flight, but this one was about half the price. I figured the extra $$$ was worth a layover for a couple hours.

Gotta love airline pricing structures! Fortunately for us the direct flights are actually less money as there is one less landing fee. We're paying $81 pp for a direct flight to LAX vs about $90 pp for an indirect to SNA.
