Invites are already out. RSVPs are actually due to us today! YAY!! 105 and counting. :yay:

Announcements are different. They go out the day of the wedding (or the Monday after) to tell people we weren't able to invite to the wedding that we got married! It's basically so all of those great-great aunts & uncles and mom's best friend's uncle's brother that our parents wanted us to invite, but we drew the line and didn't invite, still feel like they are part of the celebration. We got my cousin's announcement 2 months after her wedding! Now that is a little late.

We sent our announcements about 2 months ahead of time because we didn't want anyone to expect to come outside of the immediate family... We also announced the dates of the 2 receptions that we had a month after we were married.

DH tenses up on the rare occasion I call him "Steven"

DH's mom always calls him Steven and says "I named him Steven so that's what I'm going to call him". Why she calls his sister Debbie instead of Deborah, I dunno!

did I miss some other inside joke and that's why everyone is calling is spreadsheep instead of spreadsheet?

Yep the spreadsheep came about a couple of weeks ago.

::yes::
1. 'dress code' threads on the main board can sometimes get ugly. People seem to have different thoughts about it. We dress like I see the majority of people dressing on casual nights - collared shirt (polo, camp, Hawaiian) and Docker-type pants for guys - sundress or slacks/capris/skirt & a nice shirt for the gals.

3. Nope. Unless you want personal training.

Fortunately, I have no taste in clothing, combined with a keen sense of being oblivious to fashion, means I can wear almost anything with no stress.

But I do recommend the personal trainers - it's not expensive and I found it a very worthwhile experience last time.

But I think her ealrier time was on the day we get OFF the ship- and it's impossible to make an 8:30am flight when on disembarkation day... so she had to change her flights and pay more. That's why I said I hope that doesn't happen to me! I don't like arriving super late either which is why I hope our flight doesn't change even latter to arrive- but i'd rather arrive no matter HOW late than have my flight back home change to a time I can't possibly make and have to change our flights and everything. That would be a major headache and cost I'd rather not pay!

All these stories of flight changes makes me glad we're letting DCL do the flights this time - at least we know if there's a problem, it's their problem.

I don't envy you, its never an easy thing to do.

I don't know that there will be any "icky" trace there, when its indoors, there tends to be less evidence of police investigation. I would suggest opening window to let smoke smell out (even though the roof is open, the odor is trapped in curtains, bedding, walls, etc.).

If there is any blood, etc. then bleach is best, although it may ruin finish/carpet, etc. As far as the pets go, when we have pets killed in fires, we will have a couple of firefighters dig a grave in yard and bury them there (although I'm sure this violates all kinds of laws). Seeing a deceased pet can be as tough on some people as seeing a loved one.

I don't know if I can offer much, but having dealt with this type of stuff for 25+ years, let me know and I will be glad to chat.

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Our firefighters and investigators were obviously not as well trained as you were or as they should have been. Other than what the detectives removed (the larger portions of the walls with prints and smears, etc) everything was just as bad as I thought it would be. Including the animals.
They left all of their markings and arrows pointing to each and every drop of blood. The most horrifying moment was watching the face of the victim's mom when she realized what she was looking at. I'm not sure I'll ever get that image out of my head. What a lovely family this girl has, and so, so hard to see them go through this.

We're not going to bother to try to clean. Bulldoze is more like it.
Anyway....back down there again tomorrow and probably the next day and the day after......
I'm going to miss chatting, but I am exhausted and most likely won't even fire up the computer when I get home for a few days, anyway.

Take care guys & gals and thanks for your good thoughts, prayers, etc.

Well, this is fun!

It's 8:26 am pirates! Do you know where your t-****s are??

Hi -

Okay - I now realize I should have done this while I was still in SoCal -- BUT - I didn't.

I need to have someone check out the supermarkets near DL (and maybe alternately if there are any close to the port). Generally = how big are they and since we have 4 buses perhaps 2 should stop and one and 2 stop at another.

The Pirate Bus(s) will make a 15-20 min. stop to pick up "Refreshments" (aka - booze - oh and maybe soft drinks!!)

The issue is that the bus company has made an exception for us w/the transfer from hotel to port - normally they do not stop - or if they stop they charge an additional hour!! Thus, we need to be making a Quick stop!!

I think Roger had posted a map w/store locations.

THANKS so much - (TIA)

Michelle a nice rememberance for your dress would be to have it made into teddy bears.

There is a lady here that has a craft store and makes them for less than $20 each. She was able to make 5 out of Alan's mom's dress.

Paula what a fabulous idea!!! If I could get at least three out of mine I'm sure all three DSs would want one don't you think? NOT :sad2:

Seriously though, what a creative idea. I know someone who makes teddy bears, I'm going to inquire about this. Thank you so much

I think this is a great idea too. Very creative and a cute keepsake.

Same here! I thought eggs were relatively safe, especially if you get the pasturized ones... Though I am not sure I've ever seen pasturized eggs in our store...

Hehe all this talk of names... I was always "Trarri" and my sister always was "Trerracy". That's what we get for having names of Terri and Tracy.
I'm forever calling our oldest Katalana! Start off with part of DD9's name and finish up with DD14's!

I hope you all have a great time at the meet. I confess I've been a little envious that some of you have others in your areas to meet with.

Anyone for a meet in New Zealand? No? I thought not :rotfl:
I'm sure DD14 would love to do that! She thinks it is the coolest thing that you live there!
Just pack their clothes in a cardboard box and send them to camp! :rotfl2:
Hmmm, there's a thought! :lmao:
