Do you have nothing to do on Saturday afternoon before the cruise? Are you staying at the DL resort but not going to the parks? Do you plan on having an afternoon break from your busy park touring schedule?

Well do I have a great meet for you!

Come meet and eat candy, cookies and other assorted goodies at Marceline's Confectionery.

A small group of Dis'ers are meeting at 3.30pm outside Marceline's Confectionery at Downtown Disney and all are welcome to come along.

I'm on cloud nine right now
I've been accepted into the hoteling program at work. It's where I get to telecommute for 4 out of 5 days per week They will send my computer equipment home and I just have to set up a home office (go out and buy a good desk). I start training on the new software first week of August
I'll be working from home by the 2nd week
Working for the gov't is not bad at all. I'm a patent examiner.

The kids are thrilled too

The meet information is in the Pre Cruise/LA section of the Pirate Zone. There's the Fantasmic meet and an Electric Parade meet (different days). The other DL meet fell through because the organizer had to back out of planning. So far no one else has stepped up.

The Fantasmic and EP info will also be in the Navigators.

My husband is a diver too and is looking for others to dive with. He won't do the DCL excursions because he is experienced and thinks he gets a better deal with an outside dive operation. If you want PM me, and we can hook them up so they can share info and maybe dive together. I would much rather him going out with friends rather than by himself. Of course I always worry, so we could worry together. The girls and I usually do our excursions without him and then meet back up on the ship in the afternoon.

The younger two were so cute, they kept passing notes to each other from one end of the table to the other. After pictures though, we caught them talking up a storm. What a week to be out of touch! Just got back from a week in the mountains with poor internet service.
We are room # 6064! Looks like a great room ( mid ship, port side) except for the PC day /picture thing. Does anyone know about this for sure? Should we make a banner for PC crossing day?

Today we went shopping! Okay went picture taking of shopping. Below are pictures and information on the grocery and liquor stores in the Disneyland Resort area.

First is Ralphs Grocery Store (there is also a Rite Aid next door)
9155 Brookhurst in Anaheim (corner of Ball and Brookhurst - 3.5 miles from DL)

Nice size parking lot - nice size liquor area..some higher end wines etc in locked case.









Next is Vons
12961 Chapman Ave in Garden Grove (1.5 miles from DL)

Large enough parking - smaller alcohol area - no higher end alcohol in locked area







Next is Albertsons (approx 4 miles from DL)
9822 Katella Ave (Brookhurst & Katella)

Very small parking lot and very small store. Only one door in and out. Small alcohol area.

There was also a Food 4 Less which is owned by the same company as Ralphs. We did not get any pictures. Decent size store and a CVS pharmacy (drug store like Rite Aid/Walgreens) is next to it. It is basically on the corner of Euclid and Katella about 2.8 miles from the resort It is located at:

They do carry wine but we did not stop to see the selection inside as we had passed it when we realized it was there.

Also..on Harbor within 1/2 miles of the resort are the following:

Liquor Market (that's the name) is opposite ABC Mart on Harbor at the corner of Harbor and Katella. Basic Liquor store.

7/11 at the corner of Harbor and Katella (across Katella from DL)

On Katella approx. 1/2 mile from the corner of Katella and Harbor (going away from DL Resort) is a Dining Area that has the following nicer restaurants:

Bubba Gump Shrimp CO.
McCormick and Schmicks
Cheesecake Factory
PF Changs

Along Harbor and across from the entrance of DL are restaurants mingled within the hotels. I know there is a Denny's and a McDonalds. There is also something called Capt. Kidd's Buffet ..website: http://www.captainkidds.com/

Reviews that DH found were not good but there you have it!

We're so jealous! We could really use some rain. It's been way too dry. Also, last night on chat I mentioned that it would be nice to experience some triple digit heat....well I got my wish today and now that we've experienced it, it can go away unless it brings some rain.

I will also have a room at the GC on the night of the 15th and will be in the room after 6:00 P.M. if you can come by and pick them up - it would be really appreciated! I don't know my room number yet (obviously) but you can pick up a house phone and ask for my room..my name is Desiree Beyea. Also, I have a favr to ask - when you pick up you lanyards - if possible..please have exact change - I will not have enough change for large bills. If you need to confirm your amount - just send me a PM.

Is anyone doing the Canopy Tour with Los Veranos in PV. We did it 3 years ago with them, and I want to book it again, it was awesome. It was just me and the girls, and it was worth every penny I spent. You see my younger DD (now 18, 15 at the time) is kind of like that girl on the Carnival commerical, you know the one that they are trying to get to smile...and finally she smiles and then its gone...anyway, when we did that tour, the smile never left her face all day, I have the greatest pictures, and the best memories. That's why it was worth every penny. Not sure if there was some families doing that. Trying to get all my ducks in a row here and I have nothing booked for PV right now.

If anyone is doing the tour, what time??????

Good Morning, hope everyone has a good weekend,

Four weeks tomorrow!

A day less now!!

You cannot miss the fort, the Magic docks right across the road from it, there is a 'newish' footbridge from the port directly across to the fort over the busy dual carriageway road, from the upper decks of the Magic you Will be able to take good photos of the Fort. Deck 10 etc.

I would do this but have booked a DCL tour at this time, giving them the benefit of the doubt.

Thanks Andrew for the info. I did not give them the benefit of the doubt so will be anxious to hear about it at brunch.

No flames here. Everyone has a different experience. We did have some one on one experiences with Brent and that is why we liked him. When Rachel was CD on our 12/05 cruise DS was chosen by Pikey to push the button to start the music at the sail away party and someone took our room number to have a special treat delivered to him. When we hadn't gotten it by the third night I mentioned it to Rachel and she noted the info. I thanked her the next day and that DS had been looking for his treat from Mickey since day 1. That is when she introduced her assistant Brent to us and said that he had taken care of it for her. He was the CD on our 12/06 cruise and remembered DS, always stopping to say hello and ask him about his day, which of course made DS8 feel great with the attention. The only CD who has gotten on our nerve was the first, Jaque I think it was in 11/03.

I agree with you.....Brent is my favorite!! I could listen to his voice all day long!! He is the only CD I have ever cruised with.

Thanks for all the compliments on the costumes guys. Didn't think I'd ever get them finished! I had to "cheat" a bit and get some things off of ebay(Kev's shirt and I had my bodice custom made). I hand sewed Kev's vest and my chemise. I have a pair of dark brown,suede boots to go with mine and Kev will be wearing his lace up mocs. I also haven't quite decided what to wear for a scarf/headband yet,I have a couple of options.

OK I'm having dangerous deja vu. Here it is less than 24 hrs to sailing, I'm finally done with dropped off the fur kids in West Covina (I'm in N Norwalk) , went to staples and got my door magnets, got my FE's gifts to hand out, went to the post office and delivered my soldier's gifts, went to Loewe's to get ant spray, went to the warehouse and dropped of my new baby so it won't get egged - DD Megan got her brand new car egged on the 2nd day of her bringing it home. The estimate to fix it was $700 but I didn't have the money so we just buffed it out and they did a very decent job. She'll just have to live with it for the next 6 years.

Now, got all my lingerie out of the backyard so the neighbors arent scarred anymore - hey - can't beat sunlight for drying. Now, DH wants to power wash the backyard and BOTH of us still haven't packed yet.
Did I mention that my mother decides to throw both Megan and I a surprise birthday party since we won't be here? Um..... mom - I can't go because I'm too busy and haven't packed yet???????

Then, realize that I can't pack our anniversary gift because it hasn't gotten here on time.......oh well, I'll download a picture of it and post later.

Oh and yes, what am I doing on here? Destressing I tell DH!

This cruise is so jam packed that I am seriously considering not taking the big DLR - I may only take my Olympus - weather forecast for the 3 ports all week is thunder storms and high temps. So this may as well be a good and easy vacation huh?

Wish me luck - if you all hear of a man being dumped overboard and I disappear it will be me dumping my son overboard. I am not looking forward to sparring with him for the next week. I hope he only comes to dinner. But keep an ear out - it may be me doing the dumping.

Darn, the dryer bell went off, here I go to finally start packing. Who knows, if I finish early, I may even be able to attend my own birthday party.

Just got in from the Mirage where we met Stace and her husband Jay for Dinner , and we both agreed that we were the first to have a DIS meet and it seems we will be the last till the cruise ... How cool is that

I am loving all the Pirate night costumes! I have to admit that DH and I will probably be hiding in our room that night. On our last cruise, I took MIL and the kids up nto watch the show and fireworks. DH went back to the room. DH, the stinker, got to see the fireworks on our verandah. He made it up to us by buying some pictures from Shutters. I think we are going to skip the whole craziness since we have seen it twice now.

We are local to port canveral (and the area) if you need any help.

Sometimes I think I'll hide out because everyone will be in awesome costumes and we won't. But I don't want to miss the fun! So don't hide out..... come hang with me!

I've seen that picture- it's part of the one with the brown banner that I saved and added text/mickeyheads and TRYING to get it to work on vistaprint! Looks like they somehow (don't know how!) removed the rest of the picture... but alas it's also saved as png and not jpg so I can't try to use that instead.
