 ..we have 2 connecting rooms..but on the wrong deck.

..not that i was hoping...'a lil'~space"..from "us~and our boys". i can

..., well actually afraid..being on the room tour..& someone getting mixed up

..& going into our boys' room..getting the shock..of their life! :scared1:

..and that's just from the dirty..laundry, :rolleyes1

* not a magical moment, for sure....:flower3:

Yeah you're out of the lifeboats LG! I bet your family will be happy to hear that! ;) Congrats on getting connecting like you wanted also! :cool1:

My TA (who I think might be your TA also) called earlier to see if I had any questions about the cruise. I asked her whether we would qualify for the $50 Disney VISA OBC in addition to the OBC offered by the TA. She said that if the promotion was going on, we should get it. I also asked if it was automatic or if the TA had to request it when he or she called in the payments. She seemed to think it was automatic. So....do you know if this promotion is going on now, and if we will get it if the TA doesn't specifically ask for it? I know that we used our DV to pay for last year's cruise and we never got the credit so I'm questioning if there's something we should have done. Also, if we do qualify, would each cabin get the credit (since we booked two cabins)?

Thanks,
Kim

Congrats on getting the connecting rooms, and to ALL on any room assignments, is everyone in now?:)

Under the 'Full' month mark now, getting closer!popcorn::

We are in the same situation with our DD14, (even down to the ADHD and imature!) She sort of thinks she would like it in the stack, but isn't really sure. But then she knows she also enjoys the activities in the younger group. I'm thinking that she thinks it would just be "cool" to hang out in the Stack. I really can't see her having many conversations with the older teens unless they like Twilight, HP, Jonas Bros., Etc! I don't want to push her towards OQ and have her mad at us the whole cruise because we "forced" her there, but I'm thinking she'll be happier there.

I have a 17dd that LOVES Twilight & the Jonas Bros.! She doesn't like HP..... Of course she also likes alot of other more *grown up* stuff! LOL!

speakin..of "lil'~darlin sk8",....your picture..of the boys...& cindy..was just
adorable! & they looked soo well-behaved. with their mother's eyes,
:cool2: . did you promised..them a.......:mickeybar , afterwards ? hey,
they..did look "cool"..! one can imagined..the other lil' princess: 's..giving
cindy..a hard time..over them? oh, make sure..you tell..them....mine is
a daddygirl, :teacher:

I can't make any promises. They're both heartbreakers.

They are well behaved...of course they have the meanest parents ever!
They are certainly all boy, but seem to enjoy the finer things in life. They love ordering off the adult menus on DCL (even at 3) & don't mind getting dressed up, as long as it is once in a while! They are very excited about their tuxedos for TOAL.

M I can take this on. The LA limo tour has been all planned & set so I have some time to organize this. I'll call DCL now & see if they can help me out. I'll try for the afternoon of PC day if that's okay with everyone?

:cheer2:

Thanks to all who wished me luck.:thanks: :disrocks: I got an email from my travel agent (who is leaving on vacation for 2 weeks:scared1:) who assured me they do this all the time and it is not unusual (well, it is unusual for me:rotfl2:). Also since my tickets where booked through DCL they will make it good. I am not worried about getting to the port in time as long as we make the connection. So pray for fair weather and a smooth flight that gets in on time or even early...and that this Pooh sized lady can make it to the next terminal in a hurry dragging a backpack filled to the rim with medication and clothes...and my FE and gifts and door magnets. You know the important stuff.

So I am taking a deep breath and just leave it in the good Lord's hands. I swear I have been good, not great but pretty good.;)

Someone tiped me off about the *kids* forum they got going on there
but they are either 14 or turning 15 is there anyone on here that has a daughter or a son thats 16 or 17 or even 18 years old that i can start talking to someone close to my age and not so young

if so please get back to me

i dnt think my dad && mom wants to hang out with me for 15 days like the past 2 cruises on the 7 days i hung out with them and our friends all the time because there were no kids 16 or even 17 for that matter

so i hope to hear from someone soon

please and thank you!

DeeJay

btw if they got a mypsace or aim it could work either way because i got both

There are plenty of 16/17 yr olds. My 17dd included. Whatever you do GO TO THE TEEN CLUB THE FIRST NIGHT. Was that clear enough??? ;)

They do Ice breakers and set up games that they do throughout the cruise. You will have a great time!

DD isn't in town right now -- she'll be home on Wednesday.

I know the teens have a Facebook page set up.

ATTENTION PIRATES!!!
I'm not Cheryl, but I can play her on the thread.

Do you want to have a big group picture of all 400-and-some-odd of us??
In addition to Todd's Flying Dutchman CC picture, that is. I'm thinking between dinner seatings or sometime during the afternoon on a sea day. Maybe PC day, while everyone is in "uniform".

If we want to do this, someone needs to volunteer to contact Shutters and organize it ASAP so we all know when and where to show up.

Any takers??

Hey M! I'll just keep using your quote since it's so attention getting! ;)

Anyway, I did not get far. I called DCL & they say I can NOT book this ahead of time. I will gladly go to shutters as soon as they open & speak to the manager & try to set up a time, hopefully for the afternoon of PC day & then stick an invite on everybody's fish who is listed on the Pirate Roster. Does that sound feasible? :confused3

Opinions, ideas, thoughts? :goodvibes

Is anyone arriving at Orange County (John Wayne) Airport the night of August 14th around 10:30PM and going to the Hojo?
DH just decided to book the "Exclusive Van Service" from Supershuttle for the 3 of us (he doesn't want to risk having to wait for ages for them to fill a shared van) but I think we could probably add others to it if we knew we were getting in at the same time. From the website, it looks like the van holds up to 9 and we are only 3 (although with cruise luggage, we might want to only have maybe 7!)

If anyone is interested, send me a PM...

Pamela

OK the most disturbing thing is happening to me.
I work from home and keep the tv on as background noise but it is behind my computer armoire so I cannot see it. I was working yesterday and heard an ad that started with "I am Bryant Herzog..." I about flipped out of my chair. This is the Dr. that I feel was extremely incompetent with my oldest DD birth. Did not hospitalize me when I was 20 weeks pregnant, dialated to a 2 and 50% effaced in active labor-and we were down the hall from the OB ward IN A HOSPITAL!!
Apparantly the med spa biz is better than being a OB (especially if you stink at it). It just brings up so many painful scary emotions. If it was on the same time I would just turn in the radio.
Hopefully he won't get any business and will not be able to afford the ads for very long.

 Coral. A dear friend had a similar experience with an OB here......She found out afterwards that he wasn't *allowed* to deliver babies at any of the Arlington Hospitals (he had her change to Grand Prairie)......
I had a horrible first delivery experience (not nearly as severe as yours & my friends) but, I know it was a good thing we were so young and didn't know better (I was 17, dh was 18 when we had our first child) otherwise I would have been more terrified during my delivery! And my *OB* is now in the Medi Spa business........

I will be happy to assist in delivering.....

Maybe we could also have a volunteer from each deck who is willing to post an update on their cabin door. If we list the 'update doors' in the Pirate Navigator, people would know where to get the info. I'll take Deck 2.

PC day might not work since their photogs will be all over the place, but we can ask.

Thanks for volunteering Diane!

What about the other order though? If we do the 9:25 fireworks first then go to Fantasmic at 10. I cannot visualize the set up for the DL Fantasmic but it sounds nothing like the WDW one as far as viewing.

This works, we did it during the Mini meet earlier this year but.....be prepared to move around quite a bit to get a decent (semi decent) viewing spot.

IMHO the best way to to both events is on two separate evenings (this assumes you have at least 2 nights at DL)

The DL Fansatmic is way better than at WDW :)

Here's two segments from the finale: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GkazkonZjJI

So we get in on the Thursday before the cruise, and have a morning flight, I think we get in at 9 something. I'm looking for a rec for lunch at either one of the hotels or downtown disney for lunch. Anyone have any suggetions or favorites?

My favorite is Goofy's Kitchen...they serve brunch until 2p so you get breakfast and lunch foods. Its in the Disneyland Hotel. Another non park favorite is White Water Snacks in the Grand California with a limited menu (burgers, nahcos, salads) but big portions and decent prices.

It can be posted on my door on 6?
I think I am near the laundry people will be seeing it?

CRUISE QUESTION for Monica

Monica, do we have an up to date count on the postcards for the kids?
I went on the pirate: site but still see a number of 70, not sure if that is what we are up to or not. I want to try and purchase the postcards this weekend, I will purchase more then the number we are at but wanted to see what the current number is

Thanks
Jo

Final count is 72 - we had some drop and some late adds, but I'm closing it off now. We need to be able to order/buy our postcards.

:lmao:
Well in that case...I have a primo air-tight, lock-wall-view cabin if anyone with a pesky breeze-inducing verandah would like to trade with me.

As long as we're making offers.... I realize the severe difficulty experienced by those stuck in the category 1 suites - all that wide open space to trigger agoraphobia, the terror of falling off of the double wide veranda, the difficulty in darkening the room enough to sleep given all vast exposed window area, the embarassment that people may see the laundry you string up on your veranda and the constant fear of being interrupted by obsequious concierges.

Though it is a great sacrifice, I will be willing to offer my nice, safe, quiet, inside category 11 in trade. Not only does it resolve all of these issues, but ideally located on deck 6 (halfway between 3 and 9) and near the laundry makes it probably the best cabin on the ship.

Hmmm... Come to think of it, I think maybe I'll stay where I am...:rolleyes1

Given the vast size of the DIS group, it seems that dropping off invites in everyone's cabin any time something changes might be quite an imposition. What if we were to designate one or two cabins on each deck where DIS members volunteer to put up some extra magnets so people can post DIS group messages. That way if someone wants to post some last minute change or activity, they only need to post it on 6 doors instead of distributing 110 invites. We can list those cabins in our guide so people will just know to check those cabin doors for changes?

Given we're only doing one door magnet, I'm willing to volunteer our door for deck 6 starboard if we decide to take this approach.
