8/17/08 Captain Jack's Repossession Repo Cruise to PC thru TPC #10

From posts I have read, CRUISE DOCS seem to be going out about 25 days in advance of the cruise. So we have a little way to go, but I bet DCL will try to sort out the GTY status before that, and as posted before that seems to be about 5 weeks mark so this Thursday.

Who has the 'Golden' upgrade then?

Julie...Can I ask a stupid question? I am new to this board, and this will be our first cruise with Disney. We would like to participate in "ALL" of the fun. Don't really know if that is possible...but one can try.

Back to my question...is it too late to sign up to participate with the fish extenders? And, if not...how do we go about doing so?

Thanks, Carol

Ok I need help/suggestions..I want to make a few ADR's for us for DL/CA...
I have narrowed it down to a few (lol) and Brendan is saying to choose whatever I like! (MEN!)

Here are my choices...what is a must for and adr as opposed to the ones I can probably get in by walking up?

Blue Bayou lunch or dinner
Plaza Inn breakfast
Ariel's Grotto Dinner
Goofy's Kitchen Brunch
StoryTeller's Dinner
PCH Grill lunch or dinner
Ralf Brennan's Jazz Cafe Dinner
Tortilla Jo's
Espn Zone

I am not sure how many days you are at the the resort before the cruise but Goofys Kitchen is fun...If you like sports ..ESPN zone is fun...BB is definitely for the location and not for the food but is definitely a must do if you have never done it before...Jazz Cafe and Tortilla Joes are nothing that exciting in my opinion only. Storytellers is nice...breakfast they have a character breakfast but I would choose Goofys for a character meal over Storytellers and Ariels

just my 2 cents...

Blue Bayou lunch or dinner
-Well worth booking lunch is cheaper than dinner, ensure you check in on time
Plaza Inn breakfast
-I have been advised against, use Early entry for rides instead, to get a head start
Ariel's Grotto Dinner
-I did this before, not doing again, mainly for young girls, lots of princesses, one kids meal does come in a sand pail/bucket, Characters were slow to come around, food ok, WINE COUNTRY TRATTORIA is better, care to ensure you book at a time that doesn't clash with Aladdin or parades
Goofy's Kitchen Brunch -Great, the best!!!!
StoryTeller's Dinner-Good for a day when you go into DCL, get a bill and show it at the GCH gate and you can use their back secret entry.
PCH Grill lunch or dinner

I did breakfast with Lilo and Stich that was nice but didnt think anything special of it.

Chrissie,

We think Blue Bayou is a must. Lunch or dinner. I think Brendan would like it. Then you can have a romantic sail on POTC afterwards.:)

I'm not M! I'll make note of it! ;) :goodvibes

Yeah it's usually a good thing to not be me.

I can't help with the others, but I don't think ESPN Zone is part of the DL ADR system. They offer priority seating 3 days in advance to their MVP Club members. Joining the club is free and you get a food discount, game token discount and (at least in 2005) we got a soft sided 6-pack size cooler.

We've moved since our last trip, so I just joined the club again. You sign up in advance and they mail you a welcome packet that you bring with you to the Zone to claim your free stuff. It's an extra step, but a pretty good deal.

I'm taking the boys there Friday night (8/15) for dinner and games.

Morning all! Hope everyone is OK. Got my new glasses and am trying to get use to them. They are way stronger than I'm use to.

At least you have glasses..............this morning while i was cleaning my glasses which are about 4 years old, I rubbed the finish off of one side so I had to order a new pair  Went today and ordered a new pair but they will not be ready until Friday so I am wearing a pair that is about 15 years old and luckily i still have some contacts leftover and am able to wear them in public - DS12 said he would not go to the grocery store unless I took those glasses off

Need some prayers...

Just got word from my Uncle...my cousin was taken to the hospital under the impression it was her appendix that burst...it wasn't... it was an overy....so both were removed...she was sent home and the meds she was on caused her to get violently ill...she is back in the hospital on new meds and iv's....Last year the lost their wife/mother to cancer (it was very bad) now this...please keep them on your prayer list...

Thank you:hug:

Chrissie

Prayers sent your way..........hugs too:grouphug:

:sad1: What's going on this week? Just got a call from my mom. One of my childhood friends passed away this weekend. He's been battling lukemia for the past year or so. He's leaving behind a wife and 6yr old son.

It's going to be difficult telling DS tonight. He hung out with this family quite a bit since they still live in the same neighborhood as my parents.

:grouphug: to you and your son and the family of your friend.

I have ordered the patch for the cruise...thanks to everyone who ordered!

I ordered an extra 4 patches just in case anyone else should want one...PM me and I will add you to the list but after that - they are gone.

I will upload the artwork as soon as they email me the sample patch.

Have a great day!

Edited: Sorry the last of the patches are gone. Thanks!

THANKS for that!!

M sent me a pm --so I am going to post the answer here to for everyone.

The tours are set, Mr E has 4 busses and 1 van on hold and will get another van if needed. I need to get confirmation from him on the price of #5 he gets back from vacation the first of next week. I will probably use my paypay to collect $ from everyone. I have to pay him cash the day off. I am going to try to get everything collected by the 1st.

You all have a great day:goodvibes

Thanks for getting this all together for us Paula!

I like Blue Bayou for lunch

The Lilo & Stitch brunch is fun and yummy. My family loves it

Storyteller's is great for breakfast or dinner

Ariel's Grotto we did with a big group for DD's bday a few years ago...food was ho hum, but it was an excellent way to see the princesses and get pic's. We sat outside overlooking the water.

Plaza Inn we like for dinner but not so much for breakfast (excellent fried chicken)

Ralph Brennans and Tortilla Joe's are not huge favorites, although we do like to walk up to the take out window at Tortilla Joe's and get taco's...quick and easy.

ESPN Zone is fun, but can be super crowded depending on what sports are happening, and it is loud. Food is good, but not fabulous, IMO

Have fun!!

Thanks everyone for your help!

Well the BB meal is a gift to him for his bday. I made a "gift certificate" for him to have a meal here...just didn't know if Lunch or Dinner was better!
And I know we plan on riding PotC MANY times!

Brendan enjoys the wings there...thanks for the info I will have to look into it!

If anyone is a DVC member..if you buy points for the games at ESPN...you show your DVC membership card and they will double the points free...atleast they were still doing that as of this past May..you can always check.

I know lots of people that swear by them! I was going to get some for some of us -- 10ds & 7dd.

Well.... I am the type that if I see someone walking along with any identifying item (lanyard, bracelet, t-shirt, etc...) from this thread and I will come up and introduce myself. I can't help it! LOL! I'm sure some people will find me annoying. And I'm sorry.. I REALLY can't help myself!

We buy the swim shirts at Target for DS11 as he is fair skinned but loves to be in the pool. We have purchased them from there the last 2 years and they work really well and much less then the ones in the link

Steph - I wouldn't mind at all - looking forward to it ;)
