Day 1: I went shopping. grumble grumble. I need about 3 new articles of clothing for TOAL & no luck. Oh well. I did pick up my new formal though.
Then I took a nap & went for a bike ride.
Now I'm having a glass of wine & will probably find a movie to watch.

Tomorrow I think I'll go to the pool with a book & not worry about anyone drowning while I read.

That's another reason!! I could just sit on my duff and read....heaven!

Yup.

OKAY EXPERTS....QUESTION!

How hard will it be to hang the banner on Canal day? Can we just use really long tie wires?

And.....how will we know what time the ship's photographers will be out on land taking pictures?

Bring lots of wire ties. You can string them together if the railing is too thick for one.

i didn't look...

Me either.

There is a thread about verandah sharing on Canal Day over on the Pirate Zone board. http://www.thepiratezone.us/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=54

We have a Cat 6 - I expect we'll be there much of the day and would be happy to share! Since I doubt any of us will be in our cabins ALL day, we might want to somehow organize this - either match up people and they work out their own plans or pick a time of day when all with verandah's who have volunteered have "open house". (Personally, I kind of like the "open house" but have no idea when would be best for doing that...) I suppose we could have a different time range for each open verandah. Or get one of those things to hold the door open from the cabin steward and if the door is open, the verandah is available and if it is closed then no one is home...

We are mid-ship, but I have no idea if that is good or bad for viewing.

Thanks to whoever said that Walmart.com has the Dropps. I just ordered 2 packages of them. Even if nothing else is ready for the TOAL, my laundry is!

I suppose that's one way.
I'm just going to give my laundry to Chrissie and Sil.

Wonder how long shipping will take from there

About 10-12 working days usually, sometimes quicker. If you ordered now, you should have it in good time.

I got a Rainbow Brite one before Christmas and received it really quickly and it goes great - its nearly the same price as a new battery anyway.

Pirate Roll Call – Stop by and add your name to the Pirate Roll Call. This list will be compiled so everyone can find each other on board. One rule, we respect your privacy, so if you don't post your info, it won't be included. Final roster will be available for printing after August 1.

Pirates Continuing on the 5 Day Cruise – For the lucky Pirates who are staying on board for another 5 days, drop in, say hi and see who else will be on board.

Who's Doing What and Where – The comprehensive guide to Pirates shore excursions and activities. Wondering who will be on the same excursion as you? This is the place to find out and tell everyone what you are doing.

Planning Spreadsheeps – Other than the obvious typo, are you as OCD about planning your trip as the rest of us? A few great spreadsheets are available for download to insert all of your day into. Map out every minute of every day in specific detail!

Need some help with your packing? What about Packing Lists, The Pharmacy List (what OTC drugs you may want to consider), Sunscreen (Discussion of what sunscreen is best), and Laundry and Dry Cleaning Info.

Discussion of options for photo sharing site – Options for photo uploading so we can share best shots after the cruise. Issues related to size of photos, limits on uploads/downloads, etc. are discussed.

Staying at the Port – Discussion for those who are staying at the Port the night before the cruise including a possible group dinner at the Doubletree

If it does fill up, I could hold the overflow until you get back and then forward them on to you. :) Have a great trip!

Thanks, Lisa, but my wireless is working here so I should be fine for checking PMs (even if I'm not on the Dis as much as usual). It's going to seem so real when everyone starts getting cabin assignments soon!

Hmmm. I'm relaxed, but bored. :rotfl2:
Grass is always greener, eh?
At least I have a glass of wine and men's butterfly on TV.

So, here's something for the list of things I have no interest in doing.

4th of July is Mount Marathon time in Seward, Alaska. It's not 26.2 miles.
It is a race up and down a 3,022-foot peak called Marathon.

A friend of ours runs every year. My hips hurt just reading about it.

OMG that hurt just reading about it!! If it had been MY kid, that's what I would have done. Don't know what I'd have done with someone else's kid, though.

I've heard stories of men/boys going "commando" and getting something else stuck in a zipper. :scared: :scared:
I believe DH did that when he was young. Maybe he can tell all of us about it one night on the cruise!

My oldest called just a little bit ago...... He just talked to a friend of his (they are 28 now and have known each other since they were about 9 or 10). His friend called him to let him know that his 9 month old baby boy (we have known his wife since they were either in Jr Hi or just starting HS...) was diagnosed with Cancer today. :sad1:

They will do surgery to remove his tumors next week and then a few days later they will put in his port.
I am heartbroken for them.
How sad, prayers going out for all of them.

That's what those wristbands are for... so every DIS kid can have 296 parents on board. We're all watching. :magnify: We'll have the best behaved bunch at sea. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Though a picture is probably a better idea as not every parent may want their kid corrected. Guess it's time to update my rather plain jane signature line. ;)

.
I gaurantee DD's will have theirs on at all times! Please feel free to be a mother or father to them at any time! :thumbsup2

Good thing you checked those dates again! My DD has cheer camp that week, and on Wednesday when we leave I have to pick her up from camp and head straight to the ferry I think. I don't even have the camp hours yet. I also have to have all the school stuff ready. We start the 3rd, but we have a couple of appointments to squeeze in on Tuesday. You will be very busy. Maybe we could have a school supply shopping trip one day??
A school supply shopping trip sounds great!
That is going to be a couple crazy days for us!

Twenty months? Has it really been 20 months? Wow. Someone could have had two kids in that time. They'd be nuts...but they could have.
Could you imagine signing up for the cruise and then having a couple kids in the meantime! :scared1:

Posted the links to the Kids contract on the PZ
It is under the Pirate Q&A

And let me know what you think.

(How do you guys post a link without seeing the website detail)

I don't know how I would feel if we hadn't gotten a room when we booked. Bonkers comes to mind as a possibility. :)

Yep, went crazy because I still don't have a room assignment...that's my story and I'm sticking to it!:rotfl2:

Hi all, I have been out of town for the past two weeks. Checked here as often as possible but just want to make sure I didn't miss the info from Tina regarding where and when to send payment for the wristbands. I had a vague recollection she said she would post that around the beginning of July.

Thanks! Hope everyone enjoyed the three day weekend if you had one.

Michelle

When I was about 4 I am told that I plugged my DB's brand new speaker wires into a wall socket :scared: DM had to lock me in a room to save my life.

There's always tricking your brother into peeing on a electric fence:rolleyes1

Philly was great. Thanks for all the suggestions. Got to Independence Hall and Liberty Bell on Friday, then came back down for the Lights of Liberty Tour (BOGO free coupons on their website). That's a nice tour at night of historic area with images projected on Carpenter's Hall, 2nd Bank and Independence Hall with the historic story told by headset and the kid's story is told different than the adult's. Visited Aquarium on Saturday, kids liked all the "touch" exhibits (sharks, Jellies, Starfish, rays). The Hippo exhibit was great. Girls then wanted to go back down to historic area on Sunday before drive home and visited about 8 of the 13 story benches. Hockey tournament was fun, but nephew's team missed the final four playoff, they went 1-3-1. Boy, those Canadian kids can skate:eek:

Hey Stace, I owe you one. I just used eSnipe and got the shirt I wanted.

I.O.U. one beverage of choice on the TOAL.

Andy

   Congrats!! Don't you just love that??? It always makes me feel like a pirate:

And lucky for you I have a lousy memory, so if you don't remind me about the drink, I won't remember. ;)
