Thanks Roger....

I am not getting it to work... I will go to bed and see IF tomorrow I can do better.....

When I wake in the AM it will be 39 days until I leave for TOAL!!!!!! :scared1:

Packing begins at 11am.

::yes:: I agree - on the WB - the photogs loved the banners! A sure way to get your room and name in shots! Oh you verandah people :rolleyes1 anyone holding an all out deck party? Since I travel in steerage - I may be out on the deck burning (um....tanning) myself but would be more than happy to visit any friends I have on the upper classier VERANDAH decks..........assuming you all wouldn't not be embarrassed to have the lower class people associate with you? :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

We will have our cabin open for whoever wants to stop by...we plan to be in it alot of the PC day..so if the door is open..come on in! Cabin 7546 ...actually..anytime during the cruise..if the door is propped open..welcome!

I gaurantee DD's will have theirs on at all times! Please feel free to be a mother or father to them at any time! :thumbsup2
That's party of the Sign Out Contract for my kids. They must have their KTTW card, watch and pirate wristband at all times.

Could you imagine signing up for the cruise and then having a couple kids in the meantime! :scared1:

For those of us with 2 kids, it was referrred to as TOAL birth control early on in the thread. With the cruise selling out in 4 hours, another kid, meant no TOAL!

Thought that it was going to happen to us. Terrified me!!! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Makes Kill the Beast and Tiki Room all seem worth it, doesn't it???

Hey Stace, I owe you one. I just used eSnipe and got the shirt I wanted.

I.O.U. one beverage of choice on the TOAL.

Andy

You owe me one too, Andy...remember???

Yep, went crazy because I still don't have a room assignment...that's my story and I'm sticking to it!:rotfl2:

Hmmm, now I need another reason for going crazy.

There's always tricking your brother into peeing on a electric fence:rolleyes1

Philly was great. Thanks for all the suggestions. Got to Independence Hall and Liberty Bell on Friday, then came back down for the Lights of Liberty Tour (BOGO free coupons on their website). That's a nice tour at night of historic area with images projected on Carpenter's Hall, 2nd Bank and Independence Hall with the historic story told by headset and the kid's story is told different than the adult's. Visited Aquarium on Saturday, kids liked all the "touch" exhibits (sharks, Jellies, Starfish, rays). The Hippo exhibit was great. Girls then wanted to go back down to historic area on Sunday before drive home and visited about 8 of the 13 story benches. Hockey tournament was fun, but nephew's team missed the final four playoff, they went 1-3-1. Boy, those Canadian kids can skate:eek:

Oh yes they can. My kids haven't hit Canadian hockey teams yet, but I wasn't much older than them when I first hit a Canadian sychro team. We had 1 article fo clothing that matched, our competition dress, they had matching haircuts! It was scary.

Yes, I think they should insist you use your KTTWC, as this would stop the errors, mine was caused by people using paper bills and not using their cards, but they would have ot get back in their stateroom later so it must be around.

Great idea Andrew.:thumbsup2 I wonder if we can insist on using the KTTWC:confused3 :confused3

FE reminder

I am going to be out of town starting today through July 19 . . . I suspect cabin assignments will start while I am gone. Please don't forget to PM me if you are on the FE list as GTY but you get your cabin number. I have cleaned out my PM box so I should have plenty of room.

I will probably check in here now and then but not that much, and I will definitely miss things if someone posts on the thread with a cabin assignment but doesn't PM me with the info. Everyone, help each other to send me the info when the excitement begins and the lifeboat gets assigned!

:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Have a nice time Julie!!

Later all :wave2:

Bribery works for us pirates!!!;)

Snapfish has a group album share that is very easy to use. We did that for our last cruise and ended up getting some great shots of us that we never would have gotten otherwise. All the DISers took pictures of each other at events and always of the kids when they were doing something. It was great!

Great idea!!:flower3:

Quick question for those doing the Zipline thru Los Verano's in PV.
Our group of family and friends has grown a bit since we booked the cruise and has suddenly decided they would like to do the Zipline...not the most decisive bunch I must say!

Anywho....I just got an email from Los Verano's and they have openings at 3:00 for our group of ppl. Is there any reason we would NOT want to do it this late in the day? I don't know enough about it to know the pro's & con's. We have early dining, but we're not concerned about getting back too late that night.

So give me the good, the bad and the ugly on this option so I can make the decision ASAP! Thanks so much

They had a 10 goal mercy rule...we were trying to guess how long our team could last in the Canadian game before they called it. They called it with about 7-1/2 minutes left in the 3rd period (15 min periods). The score was 10-0 and the shots on goal were 53 - 9. Of the 5 games the Canadian team played prior to the "playoffs", they won 3 "mercies".

To be a little fair, my nephew's team was a bunch of kids from California, Ohio, Canada, New Jersey, Virginia (Richmond) and elsewhere who never played together until a scrimmage the night before the tourney started and the Ontario, Canada team was playing together for several years, but their skating was impressive for 9 year-olds. Their center on face-offs in the O-zone would pull it back to his leftside D-man and the D-man would whip an airborne shot on goal pretty much every time, then their winger was there to mop up any thing bouncing off the goalie. Our goalie held his own, but a couple of their shots were impressive top shelfs over the goalie's shoulder.

  1. It will probably be hotter later in the afternoon but not that much difference
  2. You have to be at their transportation center 20 mins before your time and it is a 20 min taxi ride from the boat
  3. Mike may be in the monkey cage instead of the monkeys
  4. You may have a cheering crowd of DISers sitting around watching you while drinking beer and eating chips
  5. You will have to watch out for M who will still be zipping in her Tink outfit

For verandah types... buy a pack of the small suction cups with a small hook on it... and stick them low on the glass to hang wet suits off of.

And buy a pack of the windex wipes.... as the view thru the verhandah is so much nicer with squeaky clean glass.

also a ziplock bag with some downey sheets for the laundry.

My best tip is over the door hooks. Someone left them for us two cruises ago. It really added to our hang up space in the bathrooms

Just back from seeing WALL.E - great movie. There's even a DCL credit right at the end.

We're using zipties for hanging our banner (5ft x 3ft)

Andy

We saw WALL>E tonight too. The first time I have gotten my kids to pick up their trash at a movie theater without complaining.

LOL....your making it sound even more fun ....
I did email them back previously and inquire about it being too hot in the late afternoon....his reply was..."Its August and its going to hot no matter what time you book" LOL

Canadian hockey: so much fun to watch, so terrible to play against!

On a different level: DS9 was on a 'select' team this year, meaning the best of our best played in tournaments. Our kids were on 3-4 different regular teams, but were all on the select team. They spent the season getting creamed by kids who played and practiced on a 'select' team all season.

You still think I'm kidding, don't you???

Evening all. Doing a quick ketchup. DD and I just finished watching "Water Horse". Nice summer evening movie.

Six weeks (can you believe it) from now we'll be watching Fantasmic. :cool1:

Upgrade question for those of you who have been lucky to receive one in the past. Does DCL call before they upgrade or do they just do it? Reason for my question is that we're going out of town next week and are still GTY. Don't want to miss that important call. If you have a TA - do they call the TA or you?

Also, Arlene or someone familiar with the toll booths between the Port and WDW - explain how it works and cost. Just want to be prepared.

Very cool Crash.
I love hearing the stories from folks who have immigrated here from harsh conditions. Helps me appreciate what we have here. I have a good friend from Italy who I never get tired of hearing her stories about her childhood. DH also worked with several people who immigrated from the Soviet Union years ago and he was very much impressed by their stories as well.

Thank you for your kind remarks. Almost everyone has some kind of history where thier parents, or parents' parents, and so on possibly (meaning parents' parents' parents' parents' ... possibly) made a periless journey ... or engaged in a "great adventure" in thier lifetime to emigrate to America.

For better or worse - depending upon what perspective one is chosing to criticise America over - or admire America over... it's our home. And it's birthday is a fine occassion to celebrate, eh?

I for one have had a fine weekend (so far) and expect it to wind up with more of the same finishing it off. We made it to the beach all fine an' a bit early with some local friends, an' the friends who drove out from LA got wacked by traffic - but they made it out just after noon. So the day passed with pleasant conversation, gentle humor and some good grub (plus my JUNK food). I'd post pictures but I left my digicam at home in my haste to get on out the door - to minimize my being late any more than I already was. Fortunately, my friends snapped a few shots - and someday I hope to get those images.

At any rate, I finally got some free time to myself - maybe - and I'm gonna go out an hit the bookstore ta see if anything new of sufficient interest has come in. And all other items which fall short shall be reviewed gently before being returned to for others to consider. < wink >

Than maybe later tonite I'll take a wack at catching up on near 2,500-2,700 postings I've not read or skimmed carefully. I've kept a careful HOP SCOTH progression with postings like this so I have marked several sections which I've already read.

Ooo... Alicia just announced she has freshly cut watermelon ready. Time fer me to scoot fer a bite!!! Then off to the bookstore before they close at 11... :thumbsup2

That sounds like a great idea! This way I'll be sure to have DH in some pictures too!

There is a thread about verandah sharing on Canal Day over on the Pirate Zone board. http://www.thepiratezone.us/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=54

We have a Cat 6 - I expect we'll be there much of the day and would be happy to share! Since I doubt any of us will be in our cabins ALL day, we might want to somehow organize this - either match up people and they work out their own plans or pick a time of day when all with verandah's who have volunteered have "open house". (Personally, I kind of like the "open house" but have no idea when would be best for doing that...) I suppose we could have a different time range for each open verandah. Or get one of those things to hold the door open from the cabin steward and if the door is open, the verandah is available and if it is closed then no one is home...

We are mid-ship, but I have no idea if that is good or bad for viewing.

Pamela
Our verandah will be open on PC day!

Those of you that are putting banners on your verandahs for PC day....
Are you making them yourselves?
If not, where are you getting them made?
What are you putting on yours?
