Home from the ER. DS was taking out the trash and comes inside calling for me to get him a band-aid right away because he cut his leg and he's bleeding. As soon as I washed it off I could see he needed stitches - he sliced it open on a broken wine glass, the glass acted like a scalpel and made about a 3 inch laceration across the bottom of his knee - deeper on one side and more like deep scrape on the other. So off to the ER and 3 stitches later we're home. They gave him a needle to numb him up before they did the stitches, I couldn't watch - Pete said it was huge.

So I'm sure you're wondering HOW he cut his knee on a broken glass in the trash...well the stupid kid picks up the trash bag and walks with it plastered to his side. I had packed up the broken glass in newspaper and had it in the middle of the trash bag with other stuff around it but with the way he was handling it, it shifted around.

And YES, there was wine in the glass when it broke:sad1:. I had just filled it and put in on my end table and went to wind up the cookoo clock when one of the pulleys hit the lamp knocking it over which fell on the wine glass sending it crashing to the floor.

Ouch! Hope he's doing well.

I got as far as saving it to MY photobucket account, then realized it was only the thumbnail size.:confused3

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Now we know who to be scared of!

I would say both of you were planning a magnet -- I'll be scared of both of you!

My oldest called just a little bit ago...... He just talked to a friend of his (they are 28 now and have known each other since they were about 9 or 10). His friend called him to let him know that his 9 month old baby boy (we have known his wife since they were either in Jr Hi or just starting HS...) was diagnosed with Cancer today. :sad1:

They will do surgery to remove his tumors next week and then a few days later they will put in his port.
I am heartbroken for them.

That's so sad. Hopefully he will pull through over time, but this is going to be a terrible time for the parents regardless.

I bought 15 pr of cotton unders to sleep in...and plan to toss them as we go. I hate wearing pj's, and I hate using covers...but since this is all Moms....I need to be "covered".

I will enjoy my cruise so much more knowing your EXACT underwear situation, Stace!!!!!!!!!! Any photos? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Please say a prayers for my husbands friend. He woke up yesterday and found his wife dead on the bathroom floor.

It's always difficult to lose a spouse, but so much more so when there is no way to prepare in advance.

Children and Grandchildren...you got to love them!!!

My DGD(the almost 4 year old that had Salmonella) decided to see if a Polly Pocket purple high heel shoe could fit up her nose today. :headache: :headache: I am doing my job today and DD calls to see if I could come with her to the Doctors office to watch my DGS. I told John to stay and finish the movies. While she was coming to get me.........two cars ahead of her decided to hit a huge break-away light pole.:scared1: :scared1: The car hit the pole and went into a ditch. My daughter missed the car in front of her by inches. The break-away pole flew over three lanes and just missed her car!!! :sad2: My daughter called 911 and the police asked if she could stay by the accident scene. :confused3 She said no she had to rush her daughter to the doctors. The police asked if she need to get an ambulance. Daughter said no.........there was just a shoe up her nose daughter's nose.I think my hair should be totally white by the time we cruise this August. BTW...the doctor did get out the purple shoe.:headache: :headache: :headache:

WOW. That's a lot of excitement.

Prayers for the family:hug:

Please say a prayers for my husbands friend. He woke up yesterday and found his wife dead on the bathroom floor.
OMG, prayers for him and his family as well:sad2:

What happened to the signers of the Declaration of Independence??

Very cool M:thumbsup2 Thanks.

I wish that I had our first cruise pictures on this computer! DD was 3 then and was so anxious to dig into dinner one night that she tucked her napkin in her dress herself. She kept tucking a bit much and ended up looking like a little Dolly Parton. :rotfl:

:cutie:

OMG they just opened one up near us too.

I keep telling DH "Don't even think about it":lmao:

And he'll say "don't you like them for their hot wings too?"

From the song:confused3

One of my co-workers daughters got a job there last year, you wouldn't believe the "requirements of the job"! If a customer wants them to sit with the them at the table all night, they must. Uniforms are not to be worn outside the resturaunt. They have to perform little "dances". I asked her if they had a pole set up for them too!! They must also be walked to there car by a male member of the staff.

Our prayers will go out to both families.

So I'm either the coolest mom or the worst mom. But DS and I go to Hooters a LOT. Even planning on making a run to the one in Aruba while we're there. I really do love the wings. The only other place that I truly like the hot wings is a small chain in Memphis.

When we were in Vegas a few weeks ago, I asked DS where he wanted our last meal to be before we headed toward the airport. He was torn between, in his own words "hot girls in booty shorts or animals on the walls" - he was trying to decide between Hooters and Rainforest Cafe. Then Todd had to throw in another choice of Hawaiian Tropic, yes the suntan lotion. They've got a restaurant where all the girls are in bakinis.

There's a Hawaiian Tropic in Times Sq. Went there for dinner b4 a bachelor party for a co-worker. It has my vote!

:headache: I don't want to even look at mine:sad2:
It was a good price at the time:confused3

Ours was 217 and now over 440!!!! I wanted to fly on VA but would have had to fly to Dulles first and that made no sense.:confused3

Any antibiotic can cause nausea/vomiting/cramps/diarrhea because it kills off the bacteria that live in your gut. Cipro is not know for diarrhea if you are taking it for short periods of time (ie. Travelers Diarrhea). One word of warning though, if you take Cipro or any drug in that family, they will increase your sensitivity to the sun. Beware if you take these stay out of the sun.

Sorry that I have not been around. After K problems at work, I have not been using the internet except for work the last couple of weeks. I am currently involved in some disputes with our current boss (#23 in the last 10yrs) and I don't want to take any chances this close to TOAL. I think I will take my laptop to work tomorrow and see if I have time to make it chat (the beauty of wireless networks).

Debi, regarding sea sick medications, check with your doctor. You should be able to take meclizine, maybe not :confused3 the patch, same for ginger.

Hope everyone has a great 4th of July!

They took the internet away from us when they put in the new computers. I use Ginger and Rich has his meds.

For those of you wanting to get a new watch just in case you lose or damage your good one on TOAL, I thought these might just be suitable - probably more women's than men's

I'm considering getting one - they are cheap enough :rotfl:

Wonder how long shipping will take from there

Please say a prayers for my husbands friend. He woke up yesterday and found his wife dead on the bathroom floor.

That is awful.:sad2:

75 currently under sunny skies. Going high of 87. Looks like a nice day. Last night it sounded like a battleground. Amazing how much $ is spent on fireworks. Tonight we have 2 big displays. The last time we went it took over 1 hour to get out of the parking lot. We'll probably watch the Macys show on tv.

ITA...I'm going to tell the kids that there pictures were seen daily by all of you and to watch out as we have spies all over the ship to make sure they're on their best behavior!

That's what those wristbands are for... so every DIS kid can have 296 parents on board. We're all watching. :magnify: We'll have the best behaved bunch at sea. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Though a picture is probably a better idea as not every parent may want their kid corrected. Guess it's time to update my rather plain jane signature line. ;)
