The best cure for seasickness is the natural way,

Get up on deck, and look at the horizon as much as possible, the widest view you can have. Take in the fresh air and eat light, but keep up the water, not too much, not too little. Seasickness is caused when the inner ear and your eyes send different information to your brain, to equalize this get up on deck, Some Meds can make things a little worse.

I get motion sick/sea sick because of all the scarring on my eardrum. So, I'm not so sure this would work -- although I did try that on a glass bottom boat tour in Cancun 16 yrs ago......... DH said that he never saw anyone climb over people/push people out of the way as quick as I did to get up to the top of the boat! :lmao:

Can't say I have ever tried the motion drugs, but I have tried the ginger capsules. Honestly, they just made the sea sickness WORSE (if that were possible).

Was it ginger root? If is just ginger it does nothing for motion sickness.

Hey everyone!
Can someone help me out? I can't seem to remember who it was that made my BIP "freak flag"- I need help with it please! I need to know who made it to see if they can make it bigger (or show me the original)_ all I have is the smaller version in order to put it in my signature (which I have that saved but not in my signature- couldn't get it to fit with my other stuff). Anyway, trying to get a button made out of it to pin to the top of the FE and it's all blurry.... because it was resized down to fit my signature.

So can anyone remind me who it was that made the freak flags/made my BIP one? please help!
I have a question and it may have been answered before. Is there a list of kids ages with emails? My son is 15 going on 20 and would like to talk to some kids his age before the cruise. He has gone to the kids website but most of the ones posting are 10 or 11 it seems. Does anyone have a child that will go on the WILD SIDE at CC? or any of the other teen excursions? We are going on the OUTDOOR ADVENTURE in PV.. anyone else???

ok.. and thanks for any input.. BTW.. we are still GTY:((:confused3
Uh, my daughter is 14.5 but she's not allowed to hang around with your 15 going on 20yr old son.
:rotfl: Just kidding.
But hey she is doing WILD SIDE at CC....... she's also doing the teen cruise in PV- you were probably thinking more along the lines of him talking with older kids or maybe boys though, right? LOL

Was there ever any intent to leave the barstool?

You do know me!!!:lmao: :lmao:

HAPPY CANADA DAY

canadamickey.jpg

to SmeeCanada and any other Canadian DISer's out there!!!

Pirating for our Canadian DISER'S

How the heck do you guys all have time to actually read and keep up with this thread and trip reports and kids and real life?

We don't!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Disney's proposed/rumored $300 per ticket park

rumored here

Sounds like I will be getting a job at WDW just for the benefit of the new park!!:cool1: :cool1:

This gets very confusing since Dramamine (regular) contains Dimenhydranate whereas Dramamine Non-Drowsy contains Meclizine (same as Bonine). Meclizine is less sedating than Dimenhydranate. One thing to note is that you DO NOT want to give Meclizine to children 12 and under. They only get Dimenhydranate.

Meclizine is the little packets DCL gives out at Guest Services!!:thumbsup2

The generic from Target is about $5 for 100 pills of the 12.5 dosage.;)

The only major problem with ginger is if you have bleeding problems or are taking something to thin your blood (Coumadin, Plavix, Aggrenox, Aspirin). If you take enough ginger they can prolong you bleeding time.

On a happier note today, :yay: Our hospital was finally sold today.:yay: We have been up for sale for 4-1/2 years and entangled in a legal battle between the hospital owners and the land owner. We will now be working for the Sisters of Providence a non-profit organization on the West Coast. We are all very excited.

That is great news for the both of you!!!:yay: :dance3: :yay:

Reading list so far this year
Whole Truth - Baldacci
Spin - Wilson
Panama Fever - Parker
Killer Instinct - Finder
Alexander Link - Berry
Lost World - Crichton
Secret Sanction - Haig

I am very sorry to hear about Helen's mother -- but, I know it will make your holiday much more enjoyable. ;)

We like red wine from Australia/New Zealand, also!

We are looking forward to seeing y'all!!! When is your next trip to WDW? maybe we can work something out! Cross your fingers that we sell a house or two! ;)

Jon had great weather! He said it was about 30 degrees cooler there then here! :)

You still owe me a phone call!!:rolleyes1

To our close neighbors up north, Happy Canada Day!

Now that we are getting closer, I am going to try to log in more. We have been doing lots of remodeling, went to the World for a week, and have been crazy busy. I can't believe this is coming up. ! Haven't been online much lately.

My DD 9, was thinking that the new Cheetah Girls movie will come out while we are onboard. She will LOVE that.

Still not facing how I am going to pack for 2 weeks!!! Hopefully, I will be meeting others in the laudromat.

Whoever arranged for Fr Mike to say Mass - great job. It will be something to go to Mass with all you DISers during the trip of a lifetime...

Got to get my kids over to the kids board...
Did Cheryl get a hold of you ? She was looking for you as she had some questions about the linked dining.
Glad to see you back:yay:

Man do I need to stop reading this thread and start reading more books... I am currently in the middle of "Food Chaining" to try to learn how to get DD18mo to eat... Also reading a Shannara book by Terry Brooks. Love his stories!
I liked the Shannara books by Terry Brooks. Very Tolkien-like:thumbsup2
I do a lot of technical reading for work so I prefer to keep to fantasy reading for fun:goodvibes

I would LOVE to be able to read that much. It seems like the last couple of years have gotten so much busier.

Today is my 17 year anniversary w/ my company. They say "my generation" switches jobs a lot. I guess I never got the memo. ;)
Yep, I switched jobs a lot. I was at one job for almost 11 years (lab tech), but all my others have been much shorter.

I finished The Kite Runner about a week ago & I'm only reading one book right now (Path Between the Seas). I tend to read 2 at a time, depending on my mood, so I'm looking for a 2nd book.
I bought the Kite Runner a while ago, but it's still sitting on my shelf. Maybe I'll bring that one on the TOAL.
I joined a book club years ago for a few months and wound up reading and enjoying books I would have never picked out on my own. Reading Lolita in Tehran was great, (though not an easy read for the most part).

I have a question and it may have been answered before. Is there a list of kids ages with emails? My son is 15 going on 20 and would like to talk to some kids his age before the cruise. ok.. and thanks for any input.. BTW.. we are still GTY:((:confused3

My DS is 14 (15 in December) and is going on the WILD SIDE at CC. He is a bit shy at times and chatty at others.

We're still GTY too:confused3

That's odd. Bonine packaging says not for use under age 12.
We don't get seasick, but DS9 gets airsick. I give him childrens Dramamine...or sometimes 1/2 an adult tablet if that's all I can find. The children's stuff is sometimes difficult to find. Hmmm, thinking back, I once gave him a children's Tylenol chewable hoping for a placebo effect. :rotfl: Forgot to re-stock the first aid kit on that trip.

I've done that to 10ds before.....;)

Hello everyone, its been about a month or so since I could sign on tothe DISBOARDS. I tried so many different computers too!! Now we can say its a month away. YIPPEE!!!

We are alos getting excited for the trip to Disney land.. My daughter will not be able to cruise with us.. so this may be the last family vacation we take as a whole:((

Since our children are spread out in age - 28, 24, 17, 10 & 7...all the same marriage ;) -- we have only done 1 trip together as a family. The 10 nt Southern DCL. That was our TOAL and it was FANTASTIC!!! If dh oculd figure out a way for 28ds to be able to take another 2 wks off this year the 7 of us would be together on this trip, also!!! :goodvibes

I have a question and it may have been answered before. Is there a list of kids ages with emails? My son is 15 going on 20 and would like to talk to some kids his age before the cruise. I know that some of the teenagers have been talking. 17dd hasn't had a chance to talk lately with working the last few weeks and now going out of the country for a couple of weeks -- she's leaving Sunday and we still have tons of things to go buy for the trip.....

She is doing these Teen excursions --
Cabo -- Teen Surfin Safari
PV - Teen Cruise

She'll probably do the CC Wild Side -- I think she has done that on all 3 of our cruises.

My dad & brother just got back from Omaha. One of my Uncles died. :sad1: I had really wanted to go to the funeral but, I have no one that could watch 10ds & 7dd.
I didn't want to take young children to a funeral. We are a very close family and he will be missed.
My brother emailed me a pic of the house we lived in the year we lived in Omaha (my dad is retired Navy and we were stationed there 68/69).

Sorry about your Uncle:hug:

Gotta go get the food ready for 7dd's b-day dinner. IL's are coming over and a few other relatives.

She has spent this week with very little sleep and has been quite the grouchy girl. I have had to get on to her quite a bit today and I told her that she may be the first child to get a spanking from me on their b-day!!! :scared1:

Later!!!

Seventeen is a lot of years!! I'm on year 11 running my own website design company. I NEVER thought I'd still get to be doing this. The demand continues. DH is on year 12 (I think) with his company (ya know . . the one that makes him glow in the dark . . go nuclear!). . . I think our kids will end up needing to be more flexible. Technology changes SO quickly (again why I'm so surprised I still get to design websites!)

Hello everyone, its been about a month or so since I could sign on tothe DISBOARDS. I tried so many different computers too!! Now we can say its a month away. YIPPEE!!!

So much has happened since I was last on. I cant say I will catch up because thats next to immpossible to do here.

My son is done with school and now is busy with his boy scout EAGLE Project. Hopefully, it will be done by the time we leave..

We are alos getting excited for the trip to Disney land.. My daughter will not be able to cruise with us.. so this may be the last family vacation we take as a whole:((

I did buy material to make a grand royalty type gown for pirate night. If it gets made is another story!! I think it will be very pretty. I did get long gloves for one of the dresses for formal night or Princess night.

Ok I have to go to WW mtg now.. Doubt I lost again but at least I am loosing inches!! I hope I can sign on again...

I wish I joined WW 16 months ago.;) I would be thin by know!!:rolleyes1 If you get your dress done....we would like to see pictures.:thumbsup2

Did Cheryl get a hold of you ? She was looking for you as she had some questions about the linked dining.
Glad to see you back:yay:

Yes we finally found each other but thanks remembering:hug:

We're still GTY too:confused3

That is really neat about your brother getting to time at the meet! My dad & brother just got back from Omaha. One of my Uncles died. :sad1: I had really wanted to go to the funeral but, I have no one that could watch 10ds & 7dd.
I didn't want to take young children to a funeral. We are a very close family and he will be missed.

Sorry for your loss Stephanie!!!
My brother emailed me a pic of the house we lived in the year we lived in Omaha (my dad is retired Navy and we were stationed there 68/69).

Yes. You get a prescription. I just went to a *doc in the box* and told him I get motion sick and needed the patch to be able to cruise! :thumbsup2

I am sorry about your stroke. That is my fear for DH. Seven yrs ago he had a migraine so bad that he went into convulsions. It was his 40th b-day and I was 8mths pg with youngest dd........... He takes Zomig.

I just went to a *doc in the box*. My Dr died a few years ago and I haven't seen anyone since.

I love it!!!!!! That is how we feel!
We are taking a couple of Religious on the trip to World Youth Day ( we are doing a week in Korea & then a week in Australia) and one of our leaders said that the last trip with this Brother that he only spent $50 of the $200 in spending moneyt hat we gave him! We don't even know how he ate for so little!!! :confused3

I thought this was so funny that I emailed it to DH! :lmao:

I'll be calling soon! I have had a not so great last couple of weeks! :sad2:

Yes lots to catch up on!!!:rotfl2:

When I told Samantha about Alex's grandmother the firt words out of her mouth were *Does this mean that they can come on our cruise now???* She was VERY disappointed when I said no. :sad1:

That was one of my first reactions but I thought about the air fare too!!:sad1: :sad1:

Yes, it is always something.

I'm so glad to hear all the books everyone is bringing and reading! You'll laugh at most of books I've read . .
Pride and Prejudice
The Shining Knight
Emma
Golly . . I can't remember all the books . . .LOL I try to read most of the books the boys read before they do, but it doesn't always happen.

Right now, I'm read a book about George Washington's Spy Ring. Absolutely fascintating look at warfare in the late 1700's. Funny I don't always see George Washington as a practical leader . . .he's almost mythical, but this book really brings home the day to day decision making process he had to make.

I'm also reading Til We Have Faces by CS Lewis. DS13 read it to finish up his school year and I never got a chance.

DS13 is reading some hardcore classics this next year like BRAVE NEW WORLD and the Great Gatsby (my favorite book in high school). Maybe I'll just bring some of those. I've thought about shipping the books ahead to the hotel in CA and then shipping them home from Orlando. On our spring trip to Orlando, my bag was too heavy and I had to take a book out to lighten the load.

How are you folks getting all those books to the ship?

Hey, were you on the August 26, 2006 Western that became an Eastern? We were at WDW before that cruise and had no idea there was a hurricane until we checked in at the port. Hopefully we'll be hurricane-free this time.

Esteri was on board also, and maybe another person on the thread

Brendan and I were on the Western that became Eastern!
We didn't do any excursions that trip...but the diamond in my engagement ring came from St Maarten!

I know there is an address posted on the piratezone to ship directly to the warehouse. Then I heard that last repo some people didn't get their stuff :confused3, so I am having mine shipped to my pre cruise hotel. Then I'm going to use the empty box to ship any souvenirs and time-share supplies back home b-4 the cruise. That was my cruise to-do task I got out of the way this AM. Find the closest UPS store in Anaheim. One more thing crossed off the least.:thumbsup2

Has anyone heard any feedback from the MR Cruisers if pkg's are making it OK to the ship OK????

I did the same thing..looked for closest post office and ups !

Happy July 1st! Hope everyone is doing well. Whales, dolphins and flying fish oh my! :scared1: As long as there are no flying squarrels, I'm good! :lmao:

I have a great squirrel story!
About 2 summers ago my dad "saved" a squirrel from drowning in my neice's little pool. Ever since then the squirrel isn't afraid of us. Comes on our deck..looks at the window and we throw him out a cookie (I know some will say ew don't feed them..)

So this past week..I saw our "friend" and he was looking in our porch door..so I moved to the window...he ran to the window and I gave him his cookie....

My mother called out to me...he was sitting on our deck chair looking in our window...threw one more cookie off the deck for him...

My mother called out to me again...the squirrel was HANGING of our kitchen window screens!

That cats were going crazy! We had to shut the windows and pull the shades down! He did go away and hasn't done it since!

Chrissie

dear cpooh......does yor giraffes..ever get tired?
:rotfl2: They've never told me that they do, so I'm guessing not!
I have this guy in my signature on another board (wdwwow .com) and he doesn't complain either!
902.gif

I'm not too sure there are any left down here either. I know the one at our mall closed, the one at Bellevue Square closed, and the one at Westlake downtown closed as well. I'm not sure about Bellis Fair or Alderwood. It is definitely a bummer. We have nothing Disney in this area any more. Our friends don't understand our obsession. Maybe they aren't really our friends???:confused3 :scared1:
Alderwood is the only one left in the state open. :sad2:

Shelly this is the original Bip Freak Flag. Not that big but better than your signature one.

My dad & brother just got back from Omaha. One of my Uncles died. :sad1: I had really wanted to go to the funeral but, I have no one that could watch 10ds & 7dd.

Sorry to hear that Stephanie.

Was it ginger root? If is just ginger it does nothing for motion sickness.

All ginger comes from ginger root :confused3 Ginger works for many people for prevention of motion sickness.

I have a question and it may have been answered before. Is there a list of kids ages with emails? My son is 15 going on 20 and would like to talk to some kids his age before the cruise. We're doing the Outdoor Adventure, but no kids here.

I'll be calling soon!

You still owe me a phone call!!:rolleyes1

When do you have any time :confused3 :confused3 :lmao: :lmao:

Was it ginger root? If is just ginger it does nothing for motion sickness.

Ginger root helps me. Haven't had motion sickness at all since I started using it for cruises. Results may vary and ginger ale for the most part is not made with real ginger.

Awfully quiet here tonight. . . we don't have any squirrel stories (except they continue to dig up my flower garden and plan acorns which I then have to weed!!), however, if you think of it, ask DH about his raccoon stories. He has some good ones. We were over run with raccoons last year in our urban neighborhood.

Our Children's pastor has promised us that country raccoons are much smarter than city raccoons so we'll be up for the challenge when our house sells and we move to the country :)
