Hey Todd - when are you guys leaving for Cozumel? Any day now right?

Last I heard I think the DCL busses were leaving around noon from DLH. I highly doubt there is a free shuttle but I figured someone might be interested. Seems like the party bus will probably get to the port before the DCL bus even gets to DLH.

We are leaving in about 24 hours ...we will be gone for a week ...were planning alot of diving and alot of tequila errr rum Im still not even started to pack yet ..LOL

Seems like a good time to bring back Lisa's graphic and my words from the first 1000 posts of the original thread.

"You unlock this door with the key of imagination. Beyond it is another dimension. A dimension of sound. A dimension of sight. A dimension of mind. You're moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas. You've just crossed over into...The Pirate Zone. Los Angeles, 2005. Amid the glitz and the glitter of a bustling, cruise port at the height of its golden age, The Disney Magic was a star in its own right; a beacon for the DIS elite. Now, something is about to happen that will change all that. The time is now on an evening very much like the one we have just witnessed. Tonight's story on The Pirate Zone is somewhat unique and calls for a different kind of introduction. This, as you may recognize, is a Disney Cruise ship still in operation, waiting for you. We invite you, if you dare, to step aboard because in tonight's episode, you are the star. And this ship travels directly to...The Pirate Zone."

"You are the passengers on a most uncommon cruise ship about to sail into your very own episode of...The Pirate Zone. One stormy night long ago, 150DIS families stepped onto a gangway and into a dream. That gangway is opening once again, and this time it's opening for you. You are about to discover what lies beyond the fifth dimension...beyond the deepest, darkest corner of the imagination...in the Disney Magic.”

“A friendly word of warning; something you won't find in any guidebook. The next time you check into a cruise ship on the dark side of Los Angeles, make sure you know just what kind of vacancy you're filling. Or you may find yourself a permanent resident of...The Pirate Zone”

LOL! Who knew that would come true? :rotfl2:

I'm beginning to wonder what the Non-DIS'ers are going to think when they see 1/3 - 1/4 of the ship's passengers dressed alike. They'll wonder if they missed some key Disney notification or such lol.

Andy

That was how things were on our last cruise. The first day we all wore our lime green shirts that we had bought from DS.com with our logo ironed onto the back. The CMs quickly termed us the "Green People" and would let us into PC for lunch even after it had been closed to everyone else. I guess that they wanted to contain us as a group? :) I have been asked if we were on a family reunion on other cruises when there were no where near as many DISers. We really enjoyed seeing people onboard no matter where we were and it seemed to others that we had known each other for a long time, especially when the kids knew each other after a couple cruises together.

The funniest thing was that I was approached by many people in the DCL terminal who thought that I was a CM because I had my green DIS Cruise bible with me and DISers were updating their room info as they got their GTY assignments at checkin. LOL! Others thought that they needed to check in with me too.

Me too. I was supposed to get a hearing aid a long time ago and haven't bitten the bullet.
My worst fear is that someone will be telling me something awful (lost job, dog died) and I'll smile and say "That's nice"

That's Jim now. He damaged his ear diving (although he won't ever admit to that now!!). He went to Doctor today and was told that he had severe hearing loss in the upper ranges in one ear. When we run in the mornings I have to run on his "good side ear" so he can hear me if I am talking to him. If I run next to him and he can't hear me, "he just smiles and nods".

We bring a little Monster Power extension strip for exactly that purpose. It's designed for travel and has 6 outlets:

That's what I use - it's an excellent choice.

I am kinda worried about this. I am a firm believer that your rights end where mine start and I do not want to make the rest of the non-DIS'ers feel uncomfortable. It is their TOAL too. :thumbsup2

I don't think I ever felt uncomfortable. But yes, a tad envious.

I checked in with DCL (since we're using the transfer). My understanding is that yes, it will be around noon. But I was assured we'd be on board in time for lunch. And since we're not rushing for a Palo signup, getting on early isn't critical. Also, the DCL transfer also means skipping the port lines, as we'll have our KTTW card already - should be able to just go through security and right on board as I understand it.

I heard a lot of people on the June 8 cruise talking about our door signs and the fact that they "didn't know" that they could do that. And also comments about costumes. I actually felt bad for them in one way, that they don't know about the DIS...but on the other hand...imagine if everyone knew....2700 pirates, fish extender gifts, etc etc.....

You know, on our 3rd cruise we were ready for pirate night heading down the hallway to dinner and the people next door to us came out at the same time. Their kids were upset because they were not dressed up too. I heard them asking each other why we were dressed up like that. :rolleyes1 Guess they hadn't looked at the navigator that was put in their room the night before. :headache: I feel sorry for the kids in those cases.

Hi Gang,

ATTENTION!!

Okay - Pirate Bus Update:

Today I signed and faxed the revised contract to the bus company and gave them my credit card info.

We will have 4 buses - and will have a 15-20 minute stop at a supermarket (e.g. Vons) on the way to the terminal. (alcohol is sold at the markets)

The price per person depends on how many are going - I estimate $10.50 - $11. pp

Please send a confirmation to Wendy - Smeecanada. Once she has the tally - I'll pm everyone w/my address or paypal accout info.

Please don't pm me now - I'm leaving tomorrow for the Mex. Riviera Cruise and won't be back untl July 6th!!

I'll check in tomorrow - if there are any questions.

Wow I think its still wacky - my bus info post is before ones I already read???

Add my Dh to the hearing impaired - he has only partial hearing on one side. When he wants to ignore me he has me sit on that side LOL :rotfl2:
