 we just got a message on our machine from Chase fraud investigation department... Guess they're not used to us actually using the card? :lmao: Guess I'll call them tomorrow...

Would someone be so kind as to try to get me a dining ressie at Boma? If anyone would like to volunteer to make the call for me (& save me a long distance call) I'd be really grateful.

I think our chances are slim but its worth a shot, right?

Well go easy on the posts the next two days....

Grandmom G passed away this morning.

Funeral is on Friday. I promise to wave if we pass Aston area on the way home. (although it is way easier and less traffic to come home by way of Harrisburg)

I don't know which is worse... being at a funeral or having to play nice with my almost non-existant dad...:faint:

Prayers to you and your family.

So, I thought it was going to be easier to keep up once school got out; so far, wrong! Between activites, doctor appointments, and the internet randomly shutting down, it has been too difficult to DIS much this week. I did make ressies for Goofy's Kitchen and Cafe Orleans, and bought about a dozen used paperback books for the book exchange. Haven't decided if I am going to mail them or pack them. Need to get moving on the sewing projects next. Now off to check to pirate site before the computer dies again!

Let me know when you want them (how many people and time too) and I can do this for you today.

"THE PIRATES ON THE BOAT GO "YO HO HO, YO HO HO, YO HO HO"

Am i hired?:confused3

:thumbsup2

ATTENTION PIRATES!
Anyone interested in joining the crew for a day of protecting the rum, please sign up on the planning boards. If we all take turns, we can cover all 15 bars onboard! (ok maybe there's not fifteen but we'll need several volunteers for each deck. ;)

Um, pirate.
What makes you think any of us can be trusted??

I'm so sorry K.

Oh...boots...OK.

Carry on.

:rotfl2: Leave it to a swabbie.

The first thing that pops in my head
inside-snl-radner.jpg

Only when it is humid.

Lets see headaches, diarrhea, constipation, rashes, athletes foot, blisters, and after dinner "I shouldn't have had that second piece of cake" concoction, I think that covers it. I will start a tread on the planning board for a more detail descriptions.

Thanks Roger & Mike. I know you guys would think of things beyond my little 'keep in the car' first aid kit. It's pretty good for everyday issues, but I know I'm missing some things that would be good to have in Mexico.

I forget who said Noxema for sunburns. I love the stuff, although my boyfolk aren't thrilled with the smell. I've been known to keep a jar in the fridge in the summer. I can use it to wash my face, so less to pack!

Yeah...i thought of that... But didn't need the points ya know...

Yeah the tatas aren't that bad either.... (plenty of bench presses completed)
:duck:

REQUEST FOR OUR PHARMACIST & ALMOST PHARMACIST

What OTC medications are you packing in your first aid kit??

I have the usual - tylenol, dramamine, benadryl, blah blah blah
I'm just wondering if there is anything special I should think about packing for the locations/climate we are traveling through & I would guess I'm not the only one.

Considering how rough DCL's toilet paper is.....Preparation H

Given the volume of the toilets when they flush - ear plugs? :rolleyes1

Glad to see we are taking the high road on this one.....:rolleyes1

Morning...hope everyone is well... Cloudy day here in NYC. Yesterday was beautiful and we were treated to a really great show down by the beach last night at 6:30. The British RAF did an air show between Staten Island and Brooklyn for 25 minutes. It was quite impressive, lots of cool stunts and red, white and blue smoke. Made me a little nauseous at times as they kept spinning around and going upside down, but very cool. Know I could NEVER fly in one of those. :(

I can't believe it is just 7 weeks till we jet off to LA to spend a few days in the Land, then board for our TOAL. The countdown is really on.....:cool1: :cool1:

Have a good day all!

Debi

This cruise was the first time I'd tried the new H2O shampoo. I have really thin, short hair and didn't like it at all. It's so thick I had to bang it on the counter to get the shampoo out of the bottle, and then I had to rinse forever to get all the shampoo out of my hair. I liked the lotion okay, but could do without the scent. Can't remember now if it's pine or mint.

DH is so going to miss the stuff that's been in our suites in the past.... He LOVED the smell.

:thumbsup2 to Katie's friend Stanley. Hope he can visit the Blue Jackets someday, but they must first find a way to make it to Stanley's playoffs...baby steps.

WE were waiting, so we were one of the first to take pictures with it. Hey, it beats standing in a store! Stanley gets around! You never know when he will show up. When NC won a couple of yers ago, the owner who is here in Detroit had the cup at a couple of places around here.

Actually we started DD on hers ...It's actually a couple shots like the hep ones....

My dr said it's better to get it too soon than to wait and risk something else....

I figure once she starts her cycle that will be soon enough. It was the same way with the Hep B shots. They tried to get me to sign the papers when I was in labor! Would like to see what the effects will be first. I don't think some of this stuff is really tested well before it goes on the market. And besides dd is only 10, she better not be doing anything she shouldn't ! LOL!

Kristina, my prayers and thoughts are with you and your family at this difficult time.

Hope everyone is doing well. I got through the majority of my PTO bookkeeping stuff last night. I will wait to turn in the books to the board office next week so I can pull down the June statement. Checks were written to reimburse the teachers once in May and again before school let out. No receipts!:scared1: My co-treasurer didn't even put down ck#s. I will be so glad when I am out of this. I'll have to have a "Free from the PTO" drink on the cruise!:thumbsup2

The H2O products are available online (well the smell doesn't transfer through the internet too well but.....) Amazon has it.

Hi Debi! I was sorry to read that you're closing your store.

Were they really good? DH and I are heading to Rhode Island tomorrow to see them in action at an air show on Saturday...actually I should say DH will see them, I'll be reading a book and listening to my Ipod.

We leave in exactly 49 days (not that I'm counting or anything:rolleyes1).

I booked my room for the July 12 meet! Got a great rate. Can't wait to see everyone in Chicago.

Sounds like you are talking about a car air freshener! lol

Not really a medication, but....

The best thing in the whole wide world for sunburn (IMHO)....

A BIG JAR of NOXEMA, I forgot it my last trip and it is not easy to find in ports outside the USA. I won't make that mistake again ::yes::

NOXEMA NOXEMA!!!!!
Cools and moisturizes sunburns AND good makeup remover!

Just wanted to say I was not on the boards Monday night or Tuesday because of some medical problems with DGD. :faint: I was babysitting my DGS Monday while my DD took my DGD to the Emergency Room.  My daughter and her family were on vacation last week to the Carolina's and Kentucky. They did eat at a Burger King on Wednesday evening and by Friday my grandaughter was sick. She did have a temperature and was coming out both ends. She continued to be sick and finally on Monday(she saw the doctor in the morning) evening they rushed her to the Emergency room. She was dehydrated and still very sick and weak. She was kept over night and I was at the hospital all day yesterday because she said she would only drink for Mema....which is what she calls me since 1 years old. The hospital released her last night even though she did have 102 degree fever but thought she was well enough to go home. Today DD gets a call from the doctors office that DGD definitely had salmonella. :worried: :worried: The lab is now trying to make sure it is the same strain found in tomatoes which should have been destroyed. I just wanted to make sure everyone knew there is still danger out there.

I am glad she is well enough to go home! Poor little thing!

Sitting in MCO ......

As I was going through security (have I mentioned how much I hate MCO security) I started thinking of how many of us would be passing through here in about 2 months, exhausted, sad yet exhilarated and energized.

MCO Security - has a line for "experienced travellers - fly 2 or more times a month, has items out, etc....." It took twice as long as if I had got in the "families and people needing help"

Wanted to try to see Coral over at DTD, but the project I'm on had us working from 8am till 5:30 pm then I had to catch up with my job, etc. and transportation in Orlando is outrageous, cab/shuttle to DTD from my hotel was $30 + tip each way.... just couldn't justify it, especially given that the hotel I'm in has no affordable meals, etc. (Hamburger & coke = $25). Needless to say, I consumed my per diem in beer. This trip is a bit costly!
:scared1: :scared1:

Sorry Coral I will definately meet up with you in August.

Extraordinarily useful information (especially since I'm staying onsite this time).

The only thing it doesn't address is how to succeed at waking up that early. Definitely not my strong suit. :rolleyes1

I ditto that! Very good info. Thanks so much.

I have the advantage of the time change. I am already a morning person, plus I get 2 extra hours in theory! The only problem is that I will probably found sleeping in my soup at the dinner table because we usually choose to eat dinner at about 7 or 8...so, I win a little, I lose a little. :)
