Sad News here.

I just heard from my Brother, that our other brother pased away last night. It was expected, but not so soon. He had been fighting the effects of ALS, early this morning, (1:30 am) he passed away in his sleep.

Sorry to learn of your brothers passing. Our thoughts are with you.

I am ashamed to admit I cannot cut in a straight line no matter what! So...ours will be the slightly lopsided signs adorning the doors in steerage on Deck 2. n

Had to laugh at this. I, too, cannot cut in a straight line. Even when using a Fiskars paper cutter I still manage to veer off.

We're on Deck 1 steerage. My DH has been teasing our friends and their kids that we'll be able to see the fish swimming by our window underwater so my friend bought gel clings of fish to sneak onto our portholes. The running joke has also been to pack the bolt cutters (reference to Titanic).

We are also bringing our snorkel gear, but leaving the fins at home...Hopefully that will work out...those darn fins take up so much space in the suitcase.

We actually were able to get the fins into the our toiletry bag!! This is the first time we were able to get them in that bag!!

Sorry to hear about your brother. Please extend my sympathy to your family. I lost my favorite brother earlier this year and I have found it difficult.

Guess what I got today? A package from DCL that contained

--------- My luggage tags for the cruise!!!

I don't know if DCL sent them because of call from TA or because of my call but I feel somewhat better actually having them!

Is there a prize for last person to get cruise documents?
Am I the winner?

Lol! Say, do they make gel clings of "portholes"???!!!! We've been spoiled in the past with verandahs - this will take some getting used to! Esp. since I'm a sucker for natural light! My theory is we spend very little time in the cabin anyway, so hopefully won't miss the verandah too much!

I believe it - unless I am using my paper cutter there is NO way I can cut straight - even have troubles on the curves

We are right above you in 2 - hmmm maybe the bolt cutters are not a bad idea - however not sure security will like this

Kathy - we also FINALLY got our documents yesterday too - it is now official - YEAH

I am finally finishing up with my short work week in Tallahassee and I am headed to the Orlando Airport (four hour drive). My kids, sister, and her kids are on the plane from Seattle. The vacation is about to begin!!

We had a bit of a scare last night (actually I wasn't scared since I didn't hear about it until this morning). My DS12 Trevor became covered with hives last night. My sister said they were out playing in the yard and he got scratched on his back from a bush. He became covered in hives thereafter. I guess they were covering every inch of his body. She gave him some benadryl and he took a shower and was better. No sign of hives this morning. This has happened a couple of times with both of my boys...scary anyway.

See you all in 8 days!!! We are going to keep busy with an appetizer cruise before the real thing!!!

Today is my last work day until Aug 31 and I know that this week has been a killer for me. I was not at all focused on work! In a few more hours I will be able to really focus on final planning (got to have the updated spreadsheet ), then packing and cleaning the house

I've mostly been a lurker on these boards, but wanted to say I'm sorry for your loss. It's so hard to lose a sibling, even if it's not unexpected.
