Read all the answers, will not re quote them all as it will make a far too long a post.

But thanks interesting....

Ditto here! Big Dr Who family here (at least, David Tennant and the Dr immediately before him! We got the posters on the wall to prove it!:cheer2: But we'll leave the sonic screwdriver home this trip.

DH and DS16 are both big sci fi fans.:thumbsup2

I believe it! We were introduced to Dr. Who by another Disser who gave us 4 seasons' worth of DVDs to initiate us!:cloud9: They knew we'd like it. I remember driving from Va to NY (about 7 1/2 hours) when the kids first put the dvds in - I was in the front seat and couldn't see it, but there was an awful lot of screaming, esp. from Rose!

For Christmas I surprised the kids with a couple of posters (one is a door size poster of the police box) and a few books (kind of like an encylopedia of Dr. Who):thumbsup2

We don't get BBCA anymore -ggrrrrr, stupid cable company - I think DS16 has been keeping up via the internet.:3dglasses:surfweb:

 Jen !!!
How was your boat party ?? and the weather ??

HERE we are having HEAVY STORMS / :scared: BAD winds ...

laura :goodvibes

Hello Laura!

We did not have a boat party - the weather was really nice but it wasn't so warm that we wanted to be fully in the lake. Regardless, we had a really great weekend and enjoyed our time with family and friends. I am now working through all the posts I missed or didn't want to take time to answer at the lake. :)

It is suppose to be pretty warm this week so we will have to see about a boat party this weekend.

The Aug. 15th cruise will be our first family cruise. We are surprising our kids with the trip that morning. They love disney and WDW so this will be so cool for them, DS 7, DS 5.5, DD 4.5.

Looking forward to reading more on this thread.

Hello! Welcome to our group!!!!! I think it is so cool that you are surprising the kids with the trip - I am HORRIBLE with big secrets like that and could not keep it quiet so I really think it is fabulous!

Happy July 4th!

:yay: Just wanted everyone to know that we got good news on Thursday!

DS does NOT need surgery for his arm! :woohoo:

Thanks for all the pixie dust and bone healing vibes!

Kathy

Kathy - I was so happy to read that DS does not need the surgery!!!! Does this mean that he will get to have a small cast for the cruise???

Hope he continues to heal nicely and have his arm back real soon!

HAPPY SUNDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone have any cruise pictures from past cruises that they want to post/share?

We are home from the lake and I am now catching up! :goodvibes

I have 2 favorite pictures because I feel like they were both such magical moments.

The first is the picture of the kids skipping down the ramp after opening the Magic Kingdom with Mickey Mouse. It was such fun experience and everyone was so happy!

image52.jpg

The second picture is so special to me...it is Ben sitting in the captain's chair (wearing the captain's hat) on the Wonder. It was taken just before he got to push the button and sound the horn as the ship pulled away from Castaway Cay. The smile on his face says it all!

Wow Jen! Family of the Day at MK and blowing the ship's horn on the same vacation!!!!

I just came across the instructions for your spiral shirts. I may try to make them, they seem easy enough. I was all gun ho to make tie dye shirts and such, but being that it's August I've been buying the guys the cool max type shirts instead of wearing t's. Then I feel like I should be making them for our friends too so it will really turn into a PROJECT.

Started my FE gifts, trying to decide on something final to get that completed. Has anyone noticed that we have a lot of tweens on the exchange? That's leaving me a bit stumped even though I have two myself!

Yes, I don't know much about what tweens like either. I only have 1 Ds(8)
Did you get a FE or make one?

After searching JoAnn's and just about giving up I found two sets of coordinating fabric. One is a tropical retro fabric with palm trees, cruise ships and post cards with a coordinating palm tree print and the other one is a seashell print with coordinating print. I'm keeping the more tropical one for myself, the beachy one is for our friends. DH's grandmother made them for me (I just picked them up two days ago). Two pockets each. I haven't personalized them yet but I'm thinking I should so they don't get hijacked. I'm planning on bringing zip ties to secure them too, already have them set aside. They came out really cute. Thanks for the suggestion earlier.

Great pics Jen - you certainly got the pixie dust on your last vacation!

Gina - I am making my family a new set of the spiral shirts...they were not all that hard to make...just really time consuming. I will say that we made one sample shirt first on an old t-shirt and I was glad we did because it taught us a few things about how to spray the paint without getting blobs of it all over the shirt.

the tweens were the hardest part for me as well. We really do have a bunch of them and I think I finally have it figured out - hopefully it will be okay. DD (13) thinks it is good so I am leaving it.

Morning Kristin!!! I loved the pictures too!!!!!!!

I am making a new set of the shirts for this summer. They were not complicated but as I said, they take a lot of time and the paint we got did not spray all that good. If you want directions, just let me know.

Great pics Jen - you certainly got the pixie dust on your last vacation!
