Another QUESTION re our few days in NYC :

DGH and I would like to have a town car to pick us up at the airport !! We both agree that our last two days have to be "gorgeous" ... it always is so sad heading back towards home / work time etc. .....

Can someone PLEASE suggest a reliable "company" ? we would like to book on line the round trip before leaving Milano !!!

We won't go to the talks, probably read the port guides

Do you jog around the decks to work off food.
I might do a little jogging this trip, last trip I tried to always take the stairs and walk around the ship once in awhile..

When do you tip during the last night, as soon as you get in or at the end of the meal.
We tipped on our room card early in the week last time, then added some extra at the end...

Kathy - I was so happy to read that DS does not need the surgery!!!! Does this mean that he will get to have a small cast for the cruise???

Hope he continues to heal nicely and have his arm back real soon!

We won't know until Aug 11 if he will get to have the small cast for the cruise!

This week he's allowed to move around and go back to camp but no Running, Jumping, or Playing sports and of course no pool! What does MD think they do at camp? I had him moved to art camp for this week.

Finished my FE Gifts with DS help

Now all I need to do is pack them into a box to send to port!

Has anybody sent boxes to port? Is the size of box really restricted to 1 cu foot?

2. What SPF?

3. Spray or Lotion?

4. Do you have a favorite brand?


My own answers which are subject to change...
1. 4-5
2. Minimum 30
3. Both-use lotion before heading out, reapply with spray (but not up on deck, too windy)
4. Coppertone Sport Blue Bottle

We (DD 13) and myself are thinking about hopping aboard this August 15th (even though we just did the June 13th -- had SUCH a great time I'm contemplating sneaking in another 7 nighter before school starts on August 24th....)

So, is there a "master list" anywhere of the kids onboard? Just ages/demos just to make sure that there would be other, compatable young teen Dis'ers?

We're traveling with 2-12 year old girls, one is going into 8th grade, the other 7th. Jen Anderson who is keeping this cruise's website has a 13 year old DD. There is a kids meet thread you could check out.

Our DDs are much younger than your daughter but looking at the Fish Exchange list there are half a dozen girls aged 12 or 13 on the list, plus several similar aged boys and even more girls who are in the 10 - 15 age range.

I am so envious that you are able to take another cruise so soon after your last, but if we lived on the other side of the pond i know I would be sorely tempted to try and sneak another cruise in on a regular basis!

I believe it! We were introduced to Dr. Who by another Disser who gave us 4 seasons' worth of DVDs to initiate us! They knew we'd like it. I remember driving from Va to NY (about 7 1/2 hours) when the kids first put the dvds in - I was in the front seat and couldn't see it, but there was an awful lot of screaming, esp. from Rose!

For Christmas I surprised the kids with a couple of posters (one is a door size poster of the police box) and a few books (kind of like an encylopedia of Dr. Who)

We don't get BBCA anymore -ggrrrrr, stupid cable company - I think DS16 has been keeping up via the internet.

Do you get SCIFI channel? DH watches Dr Who on SCIFI not BBCA. Torchwood is only on BBCA.

Blue Lizard has a UV sensitive bottle that turns blue when exposed to UV rays!

I am going to get my boxes ready to ship out next week.......Last cruise my box was a bit bigger and it was fine it got to our stateroom perfectly.....................

When are you planning on sending your box out??
