Hello fellow cruisers,

It is very bittersweet for me to say that I had to cancel my cruise this morning. I was so happy several weeks ago when I received my bonus at work and was able to pay my cruise off and buy my plane tickets. I just received an email that my cousins from Italy are coming to Chicago for 2 weeks in August. Since I would be unable to get any time off from work during those 2 weeks they are coming( can only have 2 persons off at work at one time and all Summer weeks taken), I have been able to switch my week off with someone else at work so that at least I will be able to spend 1 week with them. Although I am overjoyed to see them, since I have not seen them since I was there in 2003, there is possibility that once they look at plane fare...they have 3 kids, so total of 5, the just might decide it is too expensive to come. So there is a possibility I am canceling my trip for nothing. Since tomorrow is the deadline, I will get full refund from Disney, however United Airlines will charge me $300 total to change itinerary. I guess losing $300 is better than $500 or more from Disney.

This cruise was actually booked while I was onboard in 2006 with dummy dates. I was to have went in 2008 and the when this itinerary opened, I booked this cruise. So this has been a very long anticipated trip for us. DS and I will be going to Boy Scout Jamboree for 2 weeks in 2010, so no chance of another cruise until 2011.

I hope that you all have a wonderful time and I will be thinking of all of you that week. I will come back here when you return so that I can read how wonderful everything went for you.

So sorry you are having to cancel and that you will lose some money on the air fares. However it is great news that you will get to see some family who you haven't seen for ages.

Oh Marie !!! I'm so sorry that you have to cancel your long waited for cruise !! Surely though you will have some wonderful days with your Italian cousins !!!

Maybe you can ??cancel/ rebook a new cruise for 2011 ?

Happy Monday Everyone!

I did some updating on our website late last night. I am trying to fill in any missing information for our FE. I will just be making little changes this week but wait until I finish school...I have loads of ideas to entertain us all for the last 11 weeks!

Kritter - Sorry I did not give you a call. Turns out I was really busy yesterday! Will you be around tonight? I can call any time between 6PM and 10PM tonight...let me know when it would be a good time for you.

Jude - I sent you a few messages last night...I really hope your husband does not think I am too crazy and that he was able to get online! I know you are super busy this week but I hope to hear what the outcome was!!!!

I think what Mel said is Perfect. I think as long as every family gets something from the FE exchange. I know last time a few of us exchanged a little bit more since some of us became close through the Disboards...I know everyone was very appreciative for the exchange and extremelly generous.....The things that we received was Amazing.......Let me know if you have anymore questions!!!!!!

I am glad to get all the information for the FE. We also have not done this and I like that it is up to us on what we come up with. I am so excited to participate in this. We got our Fish extender the other day in the mail. Ordered it off of ebay and it is wonderful.

eBay is a great place to get a FE!! We really enjoyed participating in the FE our last cruise. The best part was how excited the kids would be when there was a little treat left for our family!

I can't wait to start working on gifts for this cruise!

Hi everyone. It has been awhile. My girls had recital this past weekend. 4 shows, they dance in all. They did so good and my oldest DD won an award for character, kindness and good will - she was one of eight out of 500 kids. I was proud of her. The whole family works at the recital. My DFIL is security, my DMIL the back room, my DH as "mat boy" to get the mats for gymnastics on and off the stage, and myself working a stage door. It is a blast but we were exhausted by the end of the weekend

We are getting really excited about the cruise. My DD's and I are buying dresses as my DH gets the bills. LOL

My FE ideas are starting to flow. Spent today checking out stores to see what I could find to make them work and tonight trying to design them on Word and Publisher. I'm going to have to resort to the old fashioned cut and paste. Good thing I have 10 weeks to get this together.

Did most of you make your fish extender with a pocket for each family member? I was going to take the easy way out and just do one pocket for all of us but my kids each want their own. Just wondering what the majority does. It looks like from the pics on different threads that it's a pocket per person...

I love recital weekend! It is always so fun to see the kids dance up on stage after watching them work so hard all year. Congrats to your daughter for winning such a great award!!!! We have dress rehearsal next weekend and then recitals the weekend after that.

Our fish extender has 3 pockets - one for DD, one for DS, and one for me and DH (we have to share a pocket).

I am excited about FE too !!
I have thought about "the gifts" ... and already found some great Italian items ....
I have a concern though : I'm afraid that the pockets will be too small ........... to fit my items into them ............
Also DGH is " working" on a little something for this cruise FE !!!!

I was looking at my reservation on the DCL website today and saw that our waitlist for early dining came through today. I check every couple of days to see if our Category 7 GTY has a cabin assignment. I noticed today that we now have Main Dinner Seating. It was Second Dinner Seating yesterday.

Great! I wasn't sure how we were going to handle the late dinner. I can't go to sleep right after eating and we are one of those who goes to bed early and gets up early.

This is the first time we've booked through a TA (I re-booked via AAA to get their good deal) and I wasn't sure if they had followed through with my request to waitlist for early seating....I guess she did! Now I don't have to worry about our Palo time either...I chose 6pm hoping we'd get early dining...so that is all good now too.

Things are starting to fall into place....if we could just get a cabin number I could stop stressing about that!
