Thanks to everyone for their ideas about the FE. I've been re-reading the threads and realized how craft-challenged I am. But I'm having lots of fun planning them...
Kritter, will you be able to give us everyone's names sometime after June 5th? Some of the people are still listed as DH, DS, etc. As it gets closer I'd be interested to know how everyone "delivers" their goodies - at night like good old St Nick? or during the day? I'll need to keep a map of the ship so I don't get turned around!! (in addition to being craft challnged, also directionally-challenged!!)
Jen, I run about a 10 minute mile. Strictly middle/end of the pack. If pushed, I can go faster but why???? Tess and I are running the Freihofers Race for Women here in Albany this weekend. Only women and girls - about 3300 of them. although Tess has given me strict orders that she has to cross the finish line first!!! I'm running with a bunch of 3rd and 4th graders to make sure that everyone makes it through the race....
I'm away on military leave from Sunday til Friday but I'll have my laptop with me. I'll be in Charlottesville VA.

Jude - I will be working on getting all the names that I can on the FE updated so that we know as much as possible for everyone. Last time, my family just walked around one afternoon delivery the gifts. We had them sorted into bags with the room numbers all labeled. I had used a map of the ship before we left to get everything put in order so that we did not waste time or have to go back and forth. It worked really good and I will do that again this year.

Thanks for the information on your speed. Tonight is the night that I am going to check out how long it is taking me. I know it will be WAY to long at this point but I need to have a goal! I think that it great that you and Tess are running together! What a motivated gal! You will have to let her know that I am seeing OUR Tess tonight!

Today, I got to sub in first grade in the girls school. We took them on a field-trip to the Recycle Center. It was soooooooooooooo FUN,, now the girls want to recycle everything in sight.......

We can do it!!! I am going to send off a few messages today to see if I can't get some responses to fill in a few things. I also think that I will post a big reminder message here today - and re-post it a few times this week just so that everyone knows this is it! As soon as I know the last of the cabin information, I will put it all into a spreadsheet and attach that to our web site for anyone to download.

Just popping in to say hi guys! I had a fabulous day yesterday, a trip to a day spa with some friends from when I went university which was blissful and then in the evening a meal out with girl friends!

Jen, I too am interested in the answer to your question about how long 5 k *should* take! I bet mine will be a lot slower than whatever answer you get!!!!

Mel - Sounds as if you had a wonderful day! I am a bit worried about how long it is going to take me to do the 5K!!! I am slow and out of shape. My goal is to really focus on this though because I think it will be fun to accomplish the run and to share the time with you guys!

We are not doing a tons of work because of you! We need to get all of this finalized for EVERYONE!!! I did add a few more names and put out PM to anyone else who had missing information.

I am excited to figure out what you are making that you need to have the names!!!!!! I still have to make a final decision as to what I am going to do.

I am trying to find laura's recipe for the chocolate lava cakes on Jen's incredible website. But I can't find it. Can anyone help? I want to make them for a going away dinner tonight.
June is a tough month for us. I'm gone May 31- June 5, then again June 14-27. The kids and Sean will be on their own in my absence. Poor timing but I don't have any control over it. Darn it. And then Sean will be at school from July 1 - 17, doing a residence course to get his teaching administrator's license. Boy, will we need this vacation!!!!

Thanks if anyone can point me in the right direction for the recipe!!

BTW Kritter, I just do the sewing machine portion for the quilting. I can't do hand quilting - I use a machine.....slacker, I know but otherwise I'd never finish one...!!

Oh my gosh your not making us do anymore work so please do not be sorry at all. We had said the deadline was June 5th so no need to be sorry at all.
I honestly want to have a final number anyways too!!!!!!!!!!!!


The reason I asked about quilting is Heather and I thought it would be fun to make a quilt using the signatures from the characters. Here is our thought we would have the squares and have the characters sign them and then if there was a way include a picture or two on a sqaure of the kids, etc. Then assemble the quilt. I am not sure how to assemble the quilt but maybe I can find someone I could pay to assemble it for me???!!!!

Any ideas about the quilt I would soo appreciate it. We thought this would make a GREAT memory rather than the traditional autograph books!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That sounds fabulous Kristen. I think I have seen a "how to" website for simple quilting before now. I will have a look and ask a few friends who are into quilting. I am a strictly papercrafts person - my sewing skills are lamentable but I would love to be able to do quilting.

I did one like that as a quilt to take with me to Iraq. I scanned family pictures onto white fabric, then did a quilt block around the picture. Once I had the number that I wanted I sewed them together and quilted it. I'm heading to VA in a few minutes but if youc an wait til next week, I'll check the basement and see if I can find the pattern I used for it..

Hey, everyone. My final payment is due today for our cruise. Yeah! I have been putting it off because I'm afraid that my husband is going to have a work obligation and miss the cruise.

Anyway, I went to the Dreams Unlimited site to enter the payment via credit card and it said that they don't process credit cards on the weekend. If my payment is due today and I pay online, will they accept that as meeting the deadline of today? I tried to call Disney and they don't answer the phones on the weekend either. I sure don't want this to get cancelled!

(Yes, I know that I should have paid the balance earlier!)

Hello fellow cruisers,

It is very bittersweet for me to say that I had to cancel my cruise this morning. I was so happy several weeks ago when I received my bonus at work and was able to pay my cruise off and buy my plane tickets. I just received an email that my cousins from Italy are coming to Chicago for 2 weeks in August. Since I would be unable to get any time off from work during those 2 weeks they are coming( can only have 2 persons off at work at one time and all Summer weeks taken), I have been able to switch my week off with someone else at work so that at least I will be able to spend 1 week with them. Although I am overjoyed to see them, since I have not seen them since I was there in 2003, there is possibility that once they look at plane fare...they have 3 kids, so total of 5, the just might decide it is too expensive to come. So there is a possibility I am canceling my trip for nothing. Since tomorrow is the deadline, I will get full refund from Disney, however United Airlines will charge me $300 total to change itinerary. I guess losing $300 is better than $500 or more from Disney.

This cruise was actually booked while I was onboard in 2006 with dummy dates. I was to have went in 2008 and the when this itinerary opened, I booked this cruise. So this has been a very long anticipated trip for us. DS and I will be going to Boy Scout Jamboree for 2 weeks in 2010, so no chance of another cruise until 2011.

I hope that you all have a wonderful time and I will be thinking of all of you that week. I will come back here when you return so that I can read how wonderful everything went for you.
