No way Jeff, we would never forget Elizabeth.

I'm not even going to tell Elizabeth yet. We JUST found a friend for our Mexican Riviera cruise this August. The board for that cruise is very slow - only about a half dozen posters but someone came on about 2 weeks ago with a 9 year old, so they are emailing back and forth now to get to know one another. As soon as that cruise is over, she'll start asking about friends for future cruises. Anytime we book a cruise now, that's her first question.

Just wait until DD4 starts being more social. Then we will be in search of 2 friends!

Wow,
Mel's going to have such a network of friends---We'll probably only see her at dinner time! As we get closer I'm sure we'll do another roll-call, see how many kids we have and then get them even more excited emailing each other about the trip. Jeff & spoohs, or anyone with kids, if you are on broadband and have a webcam maybe they could have a "face-to-face" that way before the cruise.

Caitlin will be 12 by time of the cruise on this end

All the girls will be in the same group then since they group them in 10-12. Elizabeth will actually be a month away from 11. Sounds like there will be quite a posse of 10-12 year old girls. Yikes. :scared1:

Jeff, how old will your youngest daughter be on the cruise?

And you know that there is a third, right... My DD (9 now, 10 on the cruise) is Elizabeth!

Yes, I have told Amanda about your DD a while ago. She likes to make as many friends as possible. Last time I think she had 4 email penpals before the cruise. Unfortunetly we never met one of them. Once the girls get to know each other we will have to set up a time and place to meet on the first day of the cruise. When will Elizabeth turn 10? Amanda turns 10 in Jan.

We just bought ours last weekend, on sale it was around $20.00 and the instant messanger software was included on the start-up CD. Doreen (DD) has a brother who lives in Boston and it is really a great way to keep in touch. If at some point you do ever look into it, look for a webcam with a build in mic, much more convenient.

Thanks for the info, I will look into it. Where in Boston? I live in Southeastern MA. I did live in Somerville and Cambridge for quite a few years and worked in Cambridge.

Elizabeth turns ten in late September. What we have always done is the whole DIS board has a meet at Promenade and we all bring our kids and that gives them a first chance to meet. We even set up a "when are you going to go to the Lab first" kind of thing and then the kids all go together the first time.

We have always met, by the drink stations by the Mickely pool so the kids can swim and get to know eachother then. Either way works. I like the idea of setting up a group to go to the lab for the first time. It breaks the ice.

Finshed up a big "project" at work today - for those who've been here since Day 1 - you know what project I'm talking about :)

Happy Friday!!

We did that as well, for our last cruise. It was fun meeting everyone for the first time.

JD99 and Soohs,
My DD is almost-9 now and will be almost 10 on the cruise. Because she'll turn 10 about 10 days after the cruise ends, I am going to try and put her in the 10-12 age group. Hopefully it won't be a problem! On our last cruise, DD was a little shy and didn't really "find" a bunch of girls her age to buddy around with. It sounds like there will be lots of girls her age this time!
My DS will be 14 at cruise time and the cousins who are travelling with us will be 9 (boy) and 7 (girl).
We're in upstate NY, just over the western Mass border.
Have a great weekend everyone!
:wave2:
