8/15/09-Eastern-Tortola Treasure Seekers #3

We requested a room on deck 2 but won't find out til Monday. Our cabin was on deck 2 last time and it was incredibly convenient for us since our DS had to be dragged out of Oceaneer Quest each night - and it was right down the hall. Our DD's a "climber" so the verandas aren't an option for us. I wish there were a few cat 7s (Navigators Veranda) that sleet 4, but no luck. We're travelling with my SIL and her family and they're in a cat 6 so I'm sure we'll visit their veranda!!
Hopefully I'll have more details on Monday!!!

Hello Everyone - Add my family in for the 8/15/09 cruise. This will be our 4th DCL cruise and we are DVC members. Our last cruise was in June, 2006 when we double dipped at Castaway Cay. We've also been on the Western and the 4 night Bahamas. It will be my DH, DS will be 16 and DD will be 12. We'll be visiting Vero Beach next week, our home resort, and Hilton Head for July 4, our other home resort, but can't wait for next year for this cruise. I've always wanted to visit Tortola.

Is this the right thread to say that our family will be on the Aug.15th Tortola cruise? It will be our 4th DCL cruise. It will be me, DH, DS(8) and DD(5).
Newbie here so I'm still getting used to posting and such.
Looking forward to the cruise which seems soooo far away!!!

But I did just read a thread about deck 1 cabins and it looks very positive. Maybe some deck 2 will open back up before cruise time. My family is on deck 2 cat 9. This is what we had last time and really liked it.

Hey Abby!! I am on Deck 2, cat 9 also. On our last cruise we booked on deck 1 (the only deck available at the time was 1)and kept checking for availability, finally it came through about a month before cruising!!

Oh wow, is your Dsis coming now? I wish mine would, but her family is doing the cross country thing in their RV to alot of the National parks, so can't. I hope DH's family doesn't try to come.

Welcome!! We are new DVC members- they got us on our 1st DCL in September. I can't wait for Tortola!!! I've been doing a little research for there, I think me family will be doing the dolphin excursion there.

Hello everyone!!!! i havent been on in a while due to school projects, making up a solo dance for an audition this wednesday for my end of the year show in june, studying for my state exams in june, and cleaning my room and most importantly driving!!! LOL so how is everyone????

Hey Abby!! I am on Deck 2, cat 9 also. On our last cruise we booked on deck 1 (the only deck available at the time was 1)and kept checking for availability, finally it came through about a month before cruising!!

That's good to know! I'll pass that on to DSis. I just can't believe how fast this cruise is selling out. When we booked out Oct 07 cruise, we booked 12 months in advance and everything was still wide open. It didn't sell out until a few months before the cruise. Do most/all summer cruise start selling out this early?

I'm not sure. She's booked but it is her daughters' second week of school. I just told her we couldn't afford any other dates because they are way more expensive, and we absolutely can't take Hayden out of school again. So for us, this is literally the only week we can cruise. ITA about DH's family coming! The RV/National parks trip sounds great. How old are her kids? Are they old enough to appreciate that kind of vacation? Mine would pick Disney any day over that!
