We're sorry to hear of this Nikkie. We've had so many folks as of late sharing that they've had health issues take bad turns - it's somber.

One of the pre-school teachers has taken medical leave due to Crones Disease. She's been under management for over a year and had no results... so she just took off last week. She was in her twentys. And, an old friend of ours had kidney cancer. Sort of got the upper hand over it after surgery last year - but now it seems maybe they didn't get it all.

It seems its' times like these that make me pause to reflect on how precious the times we have now are.

It's cold here too. My DH and I are going to look at some houses today, we want to sell ours in about a year, and are not sure where we want to move and looking at different styles to see what we are most interested in. We are going to 5 Open Houses, we went to two yesterday, and didn't like either.

Cold out, but the sun just broke thru the clouds. No big wind yet, but they say its comming

Trust me, it is!!! We are at 18 right now not counting wind chill, and we are supposed to drop to 12 by this afternoon. I went out to get the paper this morning and thought I was going to freeze my buns off! It would be tolerable if it weren't for the wind.

No snow here yet and with forecasts going back up to around 50 by the end of the week I suspect we will go another winter week with no snow....

We're headed for a day trip to NYC on 2/18 to do some shopping, etc. - hoping that temps stay reasonable and snow stays away a bit longer! We're also planning on doing the Star Wars thing in Philadelphia on 3/7 (yes, pulling the kids from school for the day, but it's "educational" so it counts as an excused absence believe it or not - no big deal they've only missed 2 or 3 days all year so far anyway).

Have you rescheduled your trip into NYC yet? Aside from the wind - today wouldn't have been that bad - at least it's sunny??

Off to get ready for Jake's soccer game....

THat sounds like fun NYC... We are thinking about sometime next weekend since the kids have the long weekend off from school. GOing to have to see how the weather looks...I'm hoping we could do the Star Wars thing too. Was hoping for DH B-day 3/8. But not sure how it is going to work out.. Depends upon what plans he wants for his Birthday.
We have made plans to spend Mother's Day weekend in the city too. We are going to eat at the AMerican Girl Doll Cafe too. I just made the reservations. So if nothing else we will be there that weekend....

Very good idea!! How is your housing market right now? It took us 18 months to sell our last house (in an historic district downtown Dayton, which take forever to sell) and we had shopped around for about a year prior to going on the market. So by the time we sold, we knew exactly which neighborhoods we wanted and what kind of house. The bad thing was in the process, we lost out on two houses we fell in love with because we took forever to sell. I know they weren't meant to be but one of them I am still smarting over. We even tracked down the owner of that house (who was living in Iowa but renting out the house at the time) and were practically begging him to sell to us (at appraisal) even though it wasn't on the market at that time. He wouldn't do it. We explained to him that we tried to buy it about a year prior before he bought it but lost out. Then go figure, he went on the market 3 months later!!

Had a wonderful time! Weather fab - sunny with glorious blue skies - so we walked for miles... Visited the Tour Eiffel, Les Invalides, Jardin du Luxembourg and generally mooched around enjoying the atmosphere... Can't wait to go back...

I think he's hilarious though.... certainly isn't afraid to say what's on his mind... the other team has "all these glamourous women and Omorosa"!!! Classic. He's really getting under her skin.

He is very funny - TBH I didn't realise he was so sharp until I watched him on The Apprentice! I just thought of him as a failed tabloid editor...

Do you know, that's the only time of year I've been to NYC!!! I've been 4 times - all between December and January. Sooo I'd personally love to try Spring...

A new game that allows you to actually exercise with the Wii! It uses the Wii Balance Board, which is placed on the floor, for balance, running, and other stuff.... it looks pretty cool (especially the soccer part!)

Tim gives me the updates... it's out in Japan now and he claims there's a USA delay because the board can only withstand 300 pounds and Americans are FAT, etc. etc. Not sure how much truth there is to that, but it wouldn't surprise me.

I just know my DS is going to want this! I'm hoping it's out in the UK by May as I'd love to get it for his birthday...

OMG!!! That'd be terrifying!!! I completely rely on this lovely laptop now - I've recently seen an ad for the MacBook Air and that looks very pretty...

Hi and Thanks to everyone who responded to my question about transferring ressies. This will be my familys 2nd cruise. We did a 7 Day western (3/24/07)and had to rebook onboard, we were hooked!!! I heard about that and it sounds pretty cool. Another game to get you going is the Mario vs Sonic Olympic game. Very fun but very intense at times. Another WII game I love is Trauma Center: Second Opinion. I always wanted to be a doctor just didn't have the patience for all that school! If anyone plays this I need HELP...there is a case I have been stuck on FOREVER!!

My DD's BF has this - he's almost completed his medical training so we got if for him as a joke!!! Don't know how far thro' the game he is tho...
