8/10/2008 - Mexican Party Cruise - Who's Here??

OK I need help...:rolleyes1
We have booked a Towncar service for all of our transfers. I need to know what time to tell them to pick us up at the cruise ship port when we return on the 17th. Our flight isn't until 11:10 in the evening (we booked a hotel room for the day near LAX). What time do I tell them????????:confused3 How do I know when WE will get off the ship???

My experience with getting off the cruise has been around 9am. I know that some go earlier because of flights, this time we will be in the early group because our flight is 11am, but the last 2 cruises we were "almost" the last to get off and it was still 9am to 9:30. DCL likes everyone off quick so they can clean for the next group. I hope this helps a little, also my experience at this particular port, is you call once you're off and then they are there within 5 minutes, but we also do the "SuperShuttle" to and from the airports.

I feel bad for the people getting off right at this moment :sad1: , but jealous of those waiting to board.:guilty:

Just a comment on the exclusive Mexican Riviera merchandise....we did the last Mexican Cruise and were on the same one "the last 7 day cruise" before heading home AND almost everything exclusive was on sale at 50% off, so I am hoping that is the case this time too. But like bcnb103 stated not a lot left but we still had no problem buying!

Hi everyone. :wave2: Giving us a *bump* as we'd drifted onto page 2...

Just had the 'feeling' of being on the Magic and suddenly I'm all excited about getting back onboard... I'm also wondering what exclusive Mexican Riviera merchandise there might be!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Ooooh!!! How fabulous!!! :thumbsup2 I'm just hoping for a Christmas bauble and a few commemorative pins... :goodvibes

We're watching Wimbledon this afternoon (English tennis tournament) with Roger Federer two sets down to Rafael Nadal!!!! Rain has stopped play and I really, REALLY want Nadal to win... Vamos Nadal!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Thanks for the info! But another question...
If we don't have a fight time... will they assign us a time to get off????
If I tell our limo company 9:30... and Disney tells me my time to get off is 8:30 am... can I wait a bit to get off or will I end up waitin' on the curb for my ride?

Well if you're like me and you do not have a flight to catch then stay on the ship until they carry you off kicking and screaming! Everyone gets "assigned" a time, but they don't police it.

I think you would be good to tell the car company 10am. Most hotels you can't get into until noon, so you may end up "waiting" somewhere. If it were me I would be heading to Disneyland off the ship until time to go to the airport, but there is the problem of luggage!

But from what I remember the last of us were pushed off "nicely" in Barcelona around 9:30 am. Remember most of the people waiting to get on expect to start boarding at 10:45am. :goodvibes

Thank you, thank you... Well, my friends, I can hardly type, I'm so choked! That boy is a marvel and all credit to him for finding the strength and maturity to power through! It's been a long time since I've seen such an awesome match... I love what a 'family' guy he is and I can't wait to see him again at Roland Garros next year!!! Just wish I was in Spain right now to enjoy the celebrations...

Felicidades Nadal!!!

A little *bump* from me too...

Happy Monday, cruisers!!! Another day closer to the Mexican Riviera!!! :cool1: :yay: :cool1:

Good morning!!! Hope you're all well!!!

Last night DH and DS decided they won't be wearing tuxedos on Formal Night after all! Seems like suits will be the order of the day as they are more flexible... :goodvibes I'm relieved TBH as it means I can opt out of wearing a frock and think about dressy separates instead!!! :thumbsup2

Good morning everyone,

I found the BEST thing in the new LL Bean catalogue yesterday and thought it might be helpful. They are selling an electronic luggage scale. All you do is hook it onto a handle on your luggage, pick it up off the ground and wait for it to beep. It will then tell you how much your luggage weighs. I am always in fear that my luggage weighs too much - it has in the past. We are flying in on Continental this time. We bought our tickets back in January - before the luggage restrictions were put into place. According to their website, we are still allowed to check 2 bags per person based on when we bought our tickets. I am a bit nervus though that we are going to get to the airport and they are going to try to charge us extra. I've printed out the info from the internet to bring with me to the airport - just in case. What do you all think?

Great find. I'm going to check that out. I don't even remember what the rules are regarding our luggage situation. We are on United but booked when they had a one-bag free rule (now it costs for all bags) so we are going to try to minimize what we bring (thus not going to formal night this time) and try to only have to pay for one bag.

Oops. Found us on page two.

Has anyone with GTY status gotten their cabin assignment yet? My TA tells me we won't hear until 7-10 days before sailing OR at embarkation! :scared1: That will make me nuts.

That would drive me crazy too! I am too much of a planner to be able to handle the anticipation of wondering where my room was going to be.

I still have a crazy idea that we might get a surprise upgrade! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I doubt it will happen but it's fun to dream!:wizard:

I have heard nothing yet, but I was GTY for the MED cruise last year and Disney gave me rooms about 3 weeks before, so I guess we can keep our fingers crossed.

I would like to have an upgrade too, but since I only re-booked a week ago I am taking whatever I can get and will be happy....even if it's the galley

I hear ya! I will be super pleased if I am sleeping on a deck chair!;)

My only fear is that this cruise will be a let-down after waiting to go for so long. I have been on 3 other cruises but DH hasn't. People at his office are always telling him that cruises stink. It was hard for me to convince him to take this cruise in the first place. I only hope he has a good time. :scared:
