8/10/2008 - Mexican Party Cruise - Who's Here??

Michelle and CAmom - I sent a PM to someone on the most recent mexican riviera sailing who had posted earlier that they were going on the best of mazatlan. They sent me back some input - an overall very good review. If you want the details just say so and I'll forward their PM.

jeff

Thanks:goodvibes

For Pirate night we will have tropical wear at dinner and possibly change into our pirate t's for the deck party, my daughter has a pirate costume and my 22month old will be in pirate attire I am not sure what my Foster son will be wearing he has been busy visiting family so I haven't been able to touch base with him on all of that. As for Disney having tropical wear I didn't find it for toddlers I didn't see any for boys either but I might be wrong on that.

I guess I will have to think about it. I am sure we will npot be going all out pirate garb... but there is a pirate costume for my daughter on disney shopping. I haven't bought it yet though because it is long sleeve and long pants and I am afraid it might be too hot. AAAAARRRRRR... What do you think?:confused3

I'm still undecided over the whole formal wear issue so I'm no help at all... pirate:

don't feel bad Custard. My kids will dress formal but hubby will wear a basic suit and I will be in dressy pants and top. I wore a dress about 20 years ago to a military formal and that was the last time I don't do the whole dress thing:rotfl: I was surprised last time we went on the Mexico cruise I thought I would be under dressed, but I saw some very basic and some totally decked out it made me feel much more comfortable. And now after having a baby at 43 I can't lose a pound without gaining it back the next day :scared1: it stinks!! SO shorts and big t's are my choice of clothing except for church or nice dinners I will get semi-dressy for that.

I am baaaaaaaack :stir: !!
Actually, I have been shopping to keep my shopping journal going :thumbsup2 .

I went to Disney Store (just dawned on me, I must get to Disney Warehouse, D'Anne) and almost everything was on sale at least for 40% off!!

Dear Karen,
Another day closer to the cruise!!! Read a thread on the main cruise forum which got me thinking - what's everyone doing for Pirates Night??? Anyone in full-blown piratical costume??? pirate:

I am looking forward to seeing your beautiful pirates Jewellery.
My DS6 & DD4 will be wearing pirates costume I got from Disney Outlet Store online with $2.00 Captain Hook Hats from Disney Store. However, my DH and I will only be wearing Hawaiian Shirt and matching tropical, Disney, dress.

My shopping journal #12:
Bought Pirates coins and faux gem stones for FE and for my original gift baskets for DS&DD. Hope I am allowed to post a pic, no, I can't... sorry. They were originally $4.99/ tiny bag, but today they were $1.99 a bag full.

Happy 1 month & 15 days to go day!!

We are doing 4 day/3 nights Legoland right before the big day.

My shopping journal #13:
Bought Matching Disney T-shirts for the family for the embarkment day for $4.99 each @, of course, Disney Store. I looked for patriotic shirts, but they did not make them this year. They had them two year ago with shirts, hats, sunglasses, socks, hair things, and so on, but I have not seen them for two years.

Aw man! I'm so jealous! Karen do you see that? I wonder if there is a Costco close to Disneyland that I can hit up for a couple bottles of my favorite Iron Horse. Here in PA, they don't sell wine in regular stores plus I've never seen the Iron Horse sparkling in any of our wine outlets (the chardonnay, yes, but not the sparkling).

Hey Jeff,
I could trade you with a six-pac IC light if they still make them. No Rolling Rock, pls, we have them here. Our local Whole Foods sells IH also, the wedding kind, but for $10 more than what Costco offers, or more... forgot.

Great thoughts about matching up your DD4 & my DD4. Meg is probably about a head shorter than your daughter, but she loves to meet new friends. She started summer school yesterday and already made 5 new friends w/ no names. Just girl, and boy, boy, boy, boy.:confused3

My shopping journal #14:
Bought elastic waist (no zippers or buttons) light shorts for my DS6 at Hanna Andersen for $12/pair (semi-annual sale!!).

Hi everyone. :wave2: Giving us a *bump* as we'd drifted onto page 2...

Just had the 'feeling' of being on the Magic and suddenly I'm all excited about getting back onboard... I'm also wondering what exclusive Mexican Riviera merchandise there might be!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Reading all the trip reports and seeing the photos is REALLY getting me in the mood. :cool1:

The amount before were:
server: 25.75
asst. server: 18.75
Head server: 6.50
room host/hostess 25.25

for Mexico things you can buy from what I remember they had in 2005. They had sweat jackets (zip up) and we got ours for $15 and we also got tshirts and they were $8 they didn't have much because we were on the last one before the repo. Just like this time. I know we bought those items and they were cheap I can't remember what else I think they had mugs and hats, everything was real cheap it was nice. I still have my jacket and it is about the only one I wear and it has held up great.

Did you buy all of these on board during the cruise or did you wait until the last day?

Thanks! I can't believe we are a few weeks away!
