8/10/2008 - Mexican Party Cruise - Who's Here??

Well we aren't going to cancel the cruise no matter what. I just need to book it soon so I don't drive myself crazy.

Phew!!! Glad to hear it... :thumbsup2

It was working out at $2000 per person (yes really and that was just economy) for 7 adults for us this Christmas/New Year!!! :scared1: The kids couldn't afford those prices whilst DH took one look and ran... I was (still am  ) really sad to cancel but we were looking at a crazy total spend...

Good luck finding those flights... :goodvibes

How much would you charge to make me some magnets? I don't have photoshop. PLUS, I have NO talent! Or how much is photoshop? I am traveling with a bunch of people so I want to make some to give everyone as a gift.

Thanks!

I was reading another thread that stated that door decorations were no longer allowed. I have asked my TA to find out if this is true.:confused3  I have not heard back yet, but I will let everyone know when I know. I made them last time and was hoping to do them again.:rolleyes1

I was just reading a trip report from the Panama Canal Cruise and they were using their door magnets. Thank goodness she had them too since her husband did not know what room number they were in on the 1st day and that is how he found his room. :rotfl2:

 Hi Michelle!

Greetings everyone. I have been monitoring and worrying about airfare for our August trip to the West Coast and the Mexican Riviera cruise. I screwed up and didn't book a couple months ago when it was under $300 to San Diego. We really wanted to fly into Orange County but haven't been able to find anything under $400. Today, by some miracle, one of the flights we were monitoring checked in at $260 to OC. I booked it so fast in case it disappeared. That's a weight off our shoulders now. Hooray!

They are still allowed - I was on the Wonder in mid-May and decorated our door without any problems. There was an issue with people using sticky tape which removed the paint off the doors - magnetic decorations are fine... :thumbsup2

:( We are unable to go due to my daughter's health.
She has been in the hospital from Feb. until May 2,
with only being home six of those days. We will be
with all of you in spirit. We have the memories of
"Bringing Home the Magic" August 2007 to keep us
going until the next time.

That is such a shame and I'm so sorry to hear about your daughter. I sincerely hope her health improves and that you guys can look forward to some DCL Magic in the future!

Best wishes,

Hello fellow travelers,
So now that it seems everyone has airfare... What is everyone doing about transfers and such? Are you all renting car? We thought about taking DL Express to the hotel but the podacast oon Disboards said that they were not very timely and the trip was long and exhausting. So we thought SuperShuttle but now I see that others have said that they can make up to 3 stops along the way including people's homes which are very out of the way. So NOW I am thinking car service???? Anyone know of a reputable car service in the LA area? We need to go from LAX to DLH... DLH to port... port to Radisson at the LA airport. :confused3

Need some suggestions... what are you all doing?

Our travel agent recommended Orange County Limo but we have no experience with them nor have we booked yet. Need to look into that next.

We're booking a limo pick-up from LAX to the Queen Mary Hotel - probably Luken Limousine. We'll take a cab from the hotel to the Port and then have arranged DCL transfers from the Port to DLH. We're picking up a hire car at the hotel for the final 5 days of our trip and will return it (and ourselves) to LAX... :goodvibes

Thank you for the quick suggestions. I put an email for quotes out to both companies plus American Limos. Hope to get something back from them within a day or two! I only have 6 days of school left with kids and 7 and 1/2 before it is officially summer! I am getting very excited! :yay: I will be even more excited when we have our transfers all worked out!

:offtopic: My husband is a firefighter for the city of Bethlehem, PA. He is on the set of the new Transformers 2 movie right now! Firefighters have to be on set because they are blowing things up and running helicopters through the set. They are using the old Bethlehem Steele plant in the city to shhot the movie's opening scenes. He keeps calling me all excited about seeing the movie being made... I haven't seen him this excited since our last trip to WDW in February!:rotfl:

Oh and just as a follow up to this post. The same flight combination on the same airline today is priced at $591. Just shows how nutso the airline industry is and how important it is to be vigilant in checking airfares daily.
