8/10/2008 - Mexican Party Cruise - Who's Here??

Oh Jeff! I feel your pleasure - or is it pain ;) !!!??? That Disney pixiedust is a wonderful, magical thing!!! We were upgraded to concierge in 2006 at the Poly then DD and myself were again last year at the Yacht Club!!! Addictive much??? Don't know about you but OMG it soooo suits us - yeah right, so who wouldn't say that...? Guess it suits you too... :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

So now we're committed to do the DVC thing :rolleyes1 , we try and create our own concierge lounge - well, there's sodas, red/white wine, Kahlua and Baileys and plenty of munchies - you're always welcome to pop round... :thumbsup2

Seriously tho', so glad you're having a fab time - tho' TBH there's not much that can compete with a stay at the Grand Floridian... :cool1:

...in just eleven short weeks from today, we'll be waiting to board the Magic... party: party: party:

Has everyone seen the fab photos on this thread about the Magic arriving in San Pedro today???

Karen - Thanks for posting the link! --11 weeks. Wow. I hadn't thought of it like that as I keep seeing the 2 months plus on my ticker. Getting closer. I better book airfare when we return from WDW.

We had another nice day. Went to MGM and didn't do a ton but we did see the HSM show, part of the block party parade, the new Playhouse Disney (DD4 was enthralled) and the new Toy Story ride which is INCREDIBLE. Definitely one of my new favorite rides. DD9 got to ride 3 times. Alas I was babysitting DD4 while she slept so I only got on one time.

We are having dinner with Cinderella and Prince Charming at 1900 Park Fare in about an hour and then to the MK for the night including extra magic hours. We decided to stay at the hotel tomorrow all day and make use of the beautiful pools and then we have the Pirate and Princess party tomorrow night.

The fun continues!

jeff

Hi Jeff! So glad you're having a fab trip! :dance3:

We didn't catch the new Toy Story ride when we were there recently - it's definitely on our 'To Do' list for October tho'!!! :goodvibes Enjoy dinner with the Cinders and her Prince and your relaxing Grand Floridian day tomorrow - wish we were there... ;)

Jeff... How did your dinner with Cinderella go??? We just took my daughter and her godparents and some other friends to Cinderella's Royal Feast in February. Everyone loved it! We had the perfect table and our Jenni got to do the waltz with Cinderella and Prince Charming... it was simply Royal! Hope your experience was just as grande!:)

Have a great rest of your trip... Can't wait to hear more!

Hello everyone! :wave2:

Enjoying(?) a very wet, windy and miserable national holiday here in the UK today! DH and I had hoped to get our patio are all cleaned and re-planted today but it's just so yuk! So I've left him putting up brackets for my proposed hanging baskets. I'm keeping my fingers crossed the weather improves for next Saturday as we're celebrating DS's 15th birthday with a barbecue... ;)

And now for some cruise chat! I'm thinking of cancelling our pre-cruise booking at the Doubletree and booking a room at the Queen Mary hotel. This features in my guide books as a must-see and one night isn't as expensive as I assumed it would be so I think I'll book it today... :surfweb:

Well...ours wasn't quite so magical. DD4 was scared to death of the stepmother and stepsisters so we couldn't get out of there soon enough. Can't get a 4 year old to believe that they had been through princess lessons (as Cinderella tried when she stopped at our table!)

Hi Karen.
I've never even heard of the QM hotel. But that doesnt' mean anything as I lived in Southern California more than 20 years ago when i was just out of grad school.

The pool day at the GF was fantastic. We rented a cabana for a half day and that was great. We had much fun. DD9 and I rented a sea racer and went all around the lake for a while too. Kids both got hair wraps and now we are heading to Narcooses for dinner. We had considered canceling and just eating a lot in the lounge but I'm glad I didn't because I just popped down there and the selections are probably the least enticing of the entire time I've been here. Then we have tix for the Pirate and Princess party tonight. I have to admit that after spending 10 hours in parks yesterday (MGM and MK) including EMH in the MK until 12:30 a.m. I am less than excited about another night in a park. We have gone a lot harder than we normally do (or else I am really starting to feel my age!) :rotfl:

I'm sure it will be fun once we get there but for now, I am going to enjoy a meal at Narcooses - I've wanted to go there forever and this is the first time we've booked it.

I was able to book Palo and excusions today!:cool1: I am a first time Disney cruiser and I have no idea why my window opened early. My travel agent thinks it is due to the holiday. Lots of Palo dinners open. Go now!

Sounds a great day and night, Jeff! Hope you enjoyed dinner at Narcoosees - we haven't been since 2004 but we loved it way back then! What did you think of the P&PP? We went in May and had a great time - despite a ridiculous wait for Space Mountain... ;)

P&P was nice. We walked right on to Splash Mountain, Big Thunder (they let us stay on and ride multiple times even). Waited WAY too long for Space too! And the princesses were nowhere to be seen and even when we did find a place where they were supposed to be the lines were horrendous. Jasmine left just before DD4 got to her and they substituted Aladdin so she lost interest. Waited about 30 minutes for Ariel before giving up. That was the only disappointment. Otherwise it was a fun party - good parade, good show at the Castle and fireworks over my head while riding Big Thunder over and over.

We love doing that too! :thumbsup2 :lovestruc :cloud9:

Oh so sorry to hear that! Those awesome stepsisters can be quite upsetting! Hope you experience MORE pixie dust to make up for this less than magical experience!:goodvibes

Doin' the Disney Happy dance...today is 75 days out and as a first time DCL cruiser we were able to book our excursions!!!! I was afraid that when I came home from work today at 4:00 that many of the excursions would be full (we only have a few choices as it is with a 2 year old). So... I broke away from my 9:30 pm bedtime and stayed up till midnight to book our excursions! We chose the scenic harbour and land tour thing in cabo, Paradise Beach in PV and The best of Mazatlan in ... well Mazatlan! I had everything all done by 12:12 am. We didn't book anything at palo (although I was a bit tempted) because we don't want to put our daughter in the nursery. Maybe next time...:cool1: Needless to say the Disney adrenelin kept me up till about 3 am:( and I got up at 5:10 this morning and drank lots of caffeine:surfweb: and now I am starting to succumb to the tired droopy eyelids:faint:
But hey our excursions are BOOKED!!!!!!!!! Now on June 11 I can book our character meals at DL!

We might make a couple of bookings at DL too - time to do some more research methinks... ;)

This is my first post anywhere ever so forgive me if i do something wrong. This will be my husband's and my second cruise, after a three-day to mexico on carnival about twelve years ago, and its my 10-year old daughter's first cruise. I have spent hours trying to read all the advice on these boards and was so worried about getting the excursions etc. that i have spent months reading about. At 901 pm last night, i logged on and was able to pretty much get what we wanted, yay! now the pressure is off and the excitement is building! We booked the dolphin swim in cabo, nothing in mazatlan, and the zipline in PV. We also got a dinner at Palo but nothing else was available. Overall, I'm feeling very lucky.
