8/10/2008 - Mexican Party Cruise - Who's Here??

Yea we got everything booked:cool1: We booked Chelino Bay Snorkeling in Cabo for hubby and DFS. We will then meet up when they are done and walk around Cabo. We booked paradise beach escape in Puerto Vallarta. I also reserved Flounders for the night of the 13th for a couple hours because that is our 25th Anniversary.

michpoit: They have the guards in Cabo too. You have to taxi in and when you get in you walk through these check point type of things and then you have the Camo wearing big gun carrying guys it is quit scarey I looked at my hubby and said OK I am ready to go back to the ship now! So be prepared if they go into Cabo.

jd99: If you have a chance to swim with the dolphins do it my hubby and daughter did this and said it was amazing. It was only going to be my daughter and Disney changed the rules so at 15 DH had to be by DD side and he wasn't looking forward to doing this but once he did it he said he was so happy for the rule change!

Well we will be seeing everyone real soon! I have to get going to another busy day. My daughter started back up at dance for school dance team they had about a month off after State comp. AHHHHHH busy busy busy.

Sounds great! We'll be joining you in Puerto Vallarta at Paradise Beach. I am waffling about the Dolphins only because my kids are going to be doing Dolphin Kids at that time and I'd like to watch them...but I guess I will have pix of them from the purveyors..so............. We shall see.

Thanks for the update on the armed guards. That really bothered him. I'll make sure to warn him before we get off the boat so he can decide ahead of time what he wants to do. Thank goodness for the kids club!

Yikes. I found us on page four! How is anyone going to find us there? Michelle- Elizabeth received Samantha's note and of course wanted to immediately respond. I told her to pace herself or else they won't have anything to talk about on the cruise! :rotfl: She will likely write back after the weekend. This weekend is her (and her sister's) dance recital. Elizabeth, in fact, is doing a solo for the first time. Proud dad is going to cry. I'm hoping to upload the video and will share the link if I can make it work.

We are under the 3 month mark now!   I am starting to regret booking the last cruise before the repo. :confused3 We have to wait sooooo long! The good part of booking the later cruise is that we will have lots of info to go with.

Anyone else going with NO excursions. My group and I are thinking about exploring on our own. We all speak Spanish so it won't be that bad.

By the way, I found a Disney outlet by accident. I found Disneyland Pirate Mickey Mouse ears 2 for $6!!!!! pirate: pirate: pirate: They have price tags on them from Disneyland for $14.95. I got a STEAL! I bought extras to take and give away on the ship!

Andriade, How exciting about finding those Mickey Mouse Pirate Ears! What does everyone else do for Pirate night? On our last cruise, there were some really great costumes. One man, in particular, could really give Johnny Depp a run for his money. I haven't decided what we are going to do yet.

Jeff, Samantha is very excited to hear back from Lizzie. :yay: In fact, everyday she asks if she has written back to her yet! I will pass on the message to her that she will get back to her after this weekend. Sam has her dance pictures coming up on Wednesday. Our recital is not until Father's Day Weekend.

I also have a 12 year old son. I read somewhere that all of the kids that age will be in Ocean Quest this summer instead of the lab. Did anyone else hear this?

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYBODY!

Anyone else counting the minutes until the first trip reports start coming in????

I can't wait.

I am counting along with you! As a first time Disney Cruiser, I can't book excursions until late May and am hoping to hear the good, bad and ugly about all of the Disney excursions as well as about trips cruisers did to explore the ports themselves. I am excited to hear all about the ship, the food, and all of the fun!!! I can't wait to hear from the 1st 7 Day West coast Mexican Cruisers... they will be able to give all the info I need!:thumbsup2

We are almost at the 2 1/2 month mark! Magic here we come! I hope I can get a Palo brunch reservation! I know it's a long-shot but I will hope until all hope is gone.

Hi everyone,

Is anyone doing anything exciting during Memorial Day weekend? Jeff, you must be so excited about your trip to WDW. I am so jealous. My Girl Scout Troop and their moms as well as some dads and siblings, are going to Hershey, PA Saturday - Monday. We are very excited! The weather is going to be gorgeous too:yay: :yay: :yay:

Andriade - chin up - I had issues getting brunch reservations ahead of time on our last cruise. Just as long as you get to the ship early, you should have no problem getting them. I never have in the past. Luckily we are not on the repo cruise. I read that the 90 day out reservation process was a real nightmare!:sad2:

Talk to you all soon!

...Karen, I know you are back from WDW. Come out come out whereever you are!

Hi Jeff! I'm here!

...You WILL compare the two and dare I say it (I hope no one flames me here) but nothing compares to WDW. We have never stayed onsite at DL before but are staying at the Grand Californian this time so perhaps I"ll change my tune. But overall I really really like DL (I've been going since I was 4) but it's just that WDW has so much more and it bugs me that the DL castle is so much smaller. :rotfl: That being said, we have had some of our best "Magic Kingdom" days in DL...so you WILL have a blast. It's just different.

No flames here - I totally agree! ::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes:: WDW is fantastic and I know I'm never going to get tired of visiting Orlando. We just had the most fab time at VWL (so happy to have this as one of our home resorts) and are looking forward to trying out AKV next Easter - so many different options... :cloud9:

However, I had wanted to visit DL ever since first seeing the park on TV as a child - I needed to see where it all started. My dream came true during New Year 2005/2006 - we flew out for a hectic week at the GCH and had a great time. If this cruise hadn't come up I doubt we would have visited again as it's a l-o-n-g old flight from London but I'm delighted to be returning and staying at the original hotel... :goodvibes

Michelle...
We live about an hour from Hershey Park and visit the Park every year! It truly is the sweetest place on earth! And their newest roller coaster, Fehrenheit, is opening THIS SATURDAY!!!! Enjoy! Have fun!

I am heading to NYC to see Mary Poppins on Broadway with a bus load of Middle Schoolers... :cool1:

"It's a small world after all..." :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: Look forward to seeing you guys there! :thumbsup2 :woohoo: :yay:

As we can no longer take our extended WDW/DCL August 2009 trip  , we decided to take advantage of some cheaper than usual flights and visit Orlando for Easter 2009! We check-in at AKV on March 31st and check-out on April 10th when we head off to the Hard Rock Hotel for 4 nights before flying home... :goodvibes

My lovely DH is very excited about the prospect of staying at AKV as he was the one who pushed to add-on there. He visited AKL for the first time a couple of weeks ago and was even more enchanted by the resort so I just know we're going to have a fab time... :cloud9:

Oh , you are so lucky to be staying at the AKV next April. We are hoping to stay there on our trip to WDW next August. :yay: :yay:

Disney73: The girls in my troop are so excited about going on Fehrenheit! I probably won't brave it myself but I will have to let you know what they say about it. I have a couple of serious chocoholics going on this trip so it should really be interesting!

Michelle - Have fun in Hershey! We are off in the morning and will check in here when we return next Wed. I trust that your DD got Elizabeth's PM.

Just read this post by Jeff on another thread...

Greetings from WDW.

We have already had an incredibly magical day. We arrived at the GF and were greeted by a concierge as we got off the Magic Express Bus. Much confusion on our part since we booked a garden view regular room and just were hoping to be placed in one of the buildings we had been recommended.

Well, we were pixie dusted big time and upgraded to concierge in the main building. Speechless. Truly. THEN there was apparently a problem with the room we were assigned (a water pipe burst I believe) and so we were further upgraded to a deluxe room on the 4th floor. One of the ones with a huge living area, sofa and chair - I'd call it a junior suite in most hotels -- with a killer view of the MK fireworks.

What an absolutely perfect start to our trip - truly beyond perfect. We had a great meal at Chef Mickey's, a little bit of MK time and a nice afternoon hanging at the pool while we waited for our room to be ready. Just got done watching Wishes from our balcony. Time for bed.

How fantastic, doncha think??????? :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Karen - And now the worst of it. We are SOOOOOOOO spoiled all of a sudden. I don't know how we can go without concierge in the future! :rotfl: I have read various threads from people who have stayed in the main building at the GF who have complained it wasn't worth it. Now, I realize I only paid for a garden view, but as someone who has stayed at some of the best hotels in the U.S., this measures up just fine. The Concierge Lounge is something else and while we were tromping through the MK in a rainstorm today we all said, "we miss the concierge lounge." :rotfl:

We spent most of the day at the MK today. Rode a lot of rides. Endured a huge storm. And now we are off to BOMA for dinner tonight. MK has extra magic hours tonight and DD9 says we are going. I'll do it if she wants to. But I'm sure I'll be tired tomorrow. Meeting Orlando friends tomorrow (folks we met on a Nov. 2006 cruise) for a day at Epcot.
