7th January 2007, Dancing Queens Thread CONTINUED

G'day Mandy.

He is still in there? That's too bad. No wonder he is grumpy. I know that it is no fun staying in the hospital for that long. I hope he gets home really soon, for everyone's sake ;)

We have no weekend plans as of right now. I guess we will just see what happens.

Thanks so much for remembering that my birthday is coming. I have no actual plans for my birthday except for going to my line dance class.

The next day Wednesday, though, we do have some plans, not necessarily birthday plans though.

We are going out to dinner at a very nice restaurant and then we are going to see Bill Cosby perform live on stage. He is coming to our city to a brand new restored theater. This silly theater cost taxpayers many millions of dollars to restore so we thought we should at least make use of our money. And how often does it happen that Bill Cosby is 5 minutes from your house?

Rick and I are going along with my mom and my brother. It should be a nice evening.

Tomorrow is going to be summer again :woohoo:

Temperatures are expected to be in the low 80's

:beach: :goodvibes

 Hey Girls

I hope you're all having a great weekend, what have you been up to ? anything nice ?

We are having a very quiet weekend, Paul has had to work most of it, as they are making a car and it needs to be ready for delivery tomorrow

Robin ~ I hope you had a lovely birthday, and that the weather is still nice

The weather here is very cool and dull, I don't think we'll see Summer here again :(

Thankfully Paul's dad came out of hospital on Tuesday, so that was some good news

Enjoy what's left of the weekend girls :)

Oh, that so great that Paul's dad got home again. It must be a huge relief. How old is he? Rick's dad turns 82 tomorrow.

This weekend we ended up doing a trip to Pennsylvania for work.

It just so happened that we drove right close by to Betsy and Mike so I called her and we arranged to meet up for dinner.

It was so nice to see them again.

The weather was fantastically warm most of the time we were gone, felt like mid summer, not late September.

But I'm home again now.

I see that I forgot to tell you that I won a recliner chair last week (on my birthday :woohoo: ) from a local furniture store.

It is being delivered tomorrow morning. How cool is that?

Hello My fellow DQs,
As par, it is a very gloomy day for my day off.
So I am going to clean house and work on the newsletter, then maybe catch up on my reading.
I have been trying to read this silly novel that really interests me, but its so long between the times I get to read, that I end up spending a while rereading what I have already read just to remember what was going on...LOL:rotfl: So its gonna take some time to finish.:upsidedow

ANYWAY!...
Robin,:wave2:
It was so cool to get to have dinner with you and Rick Friday night!...:goodvibes
I was very impressed that you remembered all my grandkids names..::yes::
That's better than I can do most of the time:sad2:...I still have trouble calling the right one with the right name...It's quite the feat ....especially the twins...:teeth:

Did ja get your recliner yet?......:woohoo:
Howzit look? Take a pic please..... :3dglasses

Mandy,
I am so glad to hear Paul's dad is on the mend.:thumbsup2
Sometimes those are the best weekends!:cloud9:
Ours has been the same, work on Sat. and the girls on Sun. ...
except we have the spa up and running now, so the girls enjoyed that!

and I wasn't able to see my Mom again, my van is dead, the strut is broken, and not safe to drive..it has over 100,000 miles on it. So its not worth the money to get it fixed.
I will be driving a new (to me) car to work on wed. A 2001 pontiac Grand Am
Mike is going to be picking it up on Tuesday. :) It has one new fender, so it needs to be painted still, but I can live with that, It also has a new engine in it. :thumbsup2

Well I'm off to do some housework...:laundy:

Hey Girls

Oh how lovely for you both to meet up for dinner, any pics ?? When we go to WDW at the end of October, I will be meeting up with my friend Sandy who I met on our 'Bahama Mamas' cruise back in 2008, and I am so looking forward to seeing her

It is so nice to meet up with friends that you have met years before and still keep in touch with on-line. I only hope that the 'Dancing Queens' get to cruise again one day too

How cool to win a recliner chair, and on your birthday too Robin, I hope you enjoy it

I hope you enjoy your new car Betsy, I hope you will Disney-fy it with an antenna topper :rotfl2:

Have a great day girls :)

Hello ladies.

It was nice to see Betsy and Mike again. No pictures were taken though Mandy, sorry. I had my camera in the van but didn't bring it in with me.

The delivery truck brought the new bed that I ordered but they forgot to bring my chair:sad2: The man said that he would try to get it here early this afternoon. I hate waiting around for deliveries but since it is for a free chair, I guess I will tolerate it.

Wow!!! I can't believe this thread is still going! :rotfl2:

I miss this place! I'm glad to see you DQ's are still chatting it up! Looks like I've missed alot.

Mandy, sorry to hear that Paul's father hasn't been well. Happy though to read that he is out of the hospital! And I see you are heading off for your first Magical cruise! Nice! :thumbsup2

Robin, looks like you're heading off for a great Disney cruise in December....

sorry girls... bumping off early... be back shortly.

My wonderful child has locked his keys in his truck, gotta go bail him out. Oh boy!

What would our kids do without us moms!?!;)

Finishing up where I left off, Robin which cruise are you going on? Very cool to see you and Betsy have gotten together! :goodvibes

Betsy, the Dream looks like a great ship! I'm hoping she will be in port when we head down in January! Is it just you and Mike?

 Hello Stranger :rotfl2:

It's great to hear from you Kelly, how is everyone ? I hope Carolin had a lovely birthday the other day, what did she get ?

Well girls, I hope you are all having a lovely weekend, what have you been up to ? anything fun ?

We have had a very quiet weekend, we've started a bit of packing for our holiday, but we haven't done anything exciting

Have a great Sunday girls ::yes::

Hey ladies :wave2:

I have been away to visit Alex this weekend. We took the grandmothers up to visit at his place. One of them had never been there before, so it was nice for her to get to see where her grandson is living.

We had a very nice time, although the trip is quite long.

Hi Kelly, glad to hear from you again. How's things been with you and your family?

We are going on the December 11, Western Cruise on the Magic. The whole family is going, me, Rick, Alex and Stephanie (his fiance), Liz and Travis (her boyfriend) and my mom:cool1:

We are all very excited to be cruising together.

Mandy, when you are on your cruise, which will be real soon now :woohoo:, can you take note of what movies are being shown in the theater for me?

I can't wait to hear all about your trip. It will make it much more exciting for me to wait the last few weeks before ours.

Hey Robin

It sounds like you've had a nice weekend :thumbsup2

Yes of course I will try and make a note of the movies onboard (I usually bring the movies list home with me anyway :)). We're sailing on the 30th October Halloween Cruise, and we can't wait :yay::yay:

I hope everyone is having a good day :)

We did have a very nice weekend thanks. Traffic was heavy going thru Toronto to get there but coming back it was fine.

Thanks for keeping the movies for me. I had counted it down and thought that would be the sailing you were on but I just wanted to confirm it for sure.

Are you doing Fish Extenders?

Hello DQs,

Kelly its good to see you on:goodvibes...I was wondering if you forgot about us...:confused3
Yes we are still hoping to make this cruise..The Dream looks like it will be a really nice ship, and two stops a CC is just frosting on the cake.
I am saving a Little bit of every pay check and all my bonuses too. We figure if I can save up most of the cost we will still be able to go. BUT this will probably be our last big vacation for a few years..at least until Mike finds another job..:guilty:

Robin,
It must have been nice to take the grands to visit with Alex. I am also very happy to hear the whole family will be going on your cruise...That is gonna beat the DWDQs/TKers cruise for best cruise ...Im sure!:thumbsup2

Mandy,
My car was Disneyfied the day after I got it...I put a Minnie Mouse antenna topper on...and I stuck a rubber Pongo and Perdita heart on the dashboard..It actually covers a crack. You would never know its there, unless you moved the heart...;)
Mike, went to a used car parts place and found back speakers for me( the ones that came with the car were blown..) and also picked up a new left back blinker, that wasn't working. Its so nice to have someone who knows how to work on cars in the house...Its a nice car. I'm happy with it, as long as it keeps runny well...So far , so good!:goodvibes

I'm off to do some surfing...:surfweb: Don't get on very often anymore..:3dglasses

I hope you are all having a great day!pixiedust:

Hey Dancing Queens :dance3:

I hope you're all having a good Thursday ::yes::

Betsy ~ It's nice to know that you have Disneyfied your car (mine has a Capt Mickey antenna topper, Capt Jack Sparrow sticker, Stitch pillow, and a Stitch plush stuck to the window :rotfl2::rotfl2:)

:wizard: Good luck with all your saving, and fingers crossed Mike will find a job very soon

Robin ~ Yes I will be taking part in a Fish Extender Exchange. I think there's around 15 families taking part in our group, it's usually fun joining it

Kelly ~ Come back and say 'hi' again :)

So girls, what have you got planned for the weekend ? anything nice ?

After 3 really boring weekends, I am really looking forward to this one as Paul and I are heading to Manchester for a bit of shopping, a nice meal and staying over. It should be fun ::yes::

Have a great weekend girls, whatever you're up to :)

Hey gals!

I'm sorry I have been such a stranger! My world seems to be spinning out of control. I couldn't wait for the kids to get older and assume some responsibilities thinking life would be easier... :rolleyes1 Boy was I wrong! :rolleyes1

Mandy, Carolin had a great birthday (IMO)! She got a car for her 16th, nothing fancy... it's a 2002 Ford Taurus. We traded a family who had another child on the way for the car and CW bought a Traverse. My first brand new car! She also got some iPod accessories, clothes, etc. her boyfriend picked her up for her first official date... dinner at her fav restaurant and her pick of a movie.

He showed up with a dozen roses, her fav color! He even called a few days before planning to ask permission to take her out for the first time! What a sweetie! :cloud9: Lucky girl... btw... to be leaving later this month for a Disney cruise! :cheer2:

Robin, the Magic sounds great! You are almost just two months away! That's great to hear your whole family is going! What are your stops? We are heading western too stopping at Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Cozumel, and Labadee. Let me know if you are stopping at one of these so I can get some insight to them! :thumbsup2

Betsy, I def have not forgotten you guys! I think of you all quite a bit! I miss you guys! It looks like we will be down to PC before the Dream arrives. :sad1: I guess it's a good thing, I'll be so upset not being able to hop onboard. Btw... great pics of Assateague with the kids! Lots and lots of pixiedust:pixiedust: for Mike on finding a great job!!!

Sorry to ramble on sooo much! I hope everyone's family is doing great! Miss you guys!! :grouphug:

Kelly, it sounds like Carolin did have a very nice birthday.

Those kids sure can keep us busy can't they. Soon enough though, they will be off and living their own lives and we wonder what to do to fill our days. At least for the first week or two :lmao:

We are cruising to Key West, Grand Cayman and Cozumel, so some of the same places that you are also going.

Not much longer now Mandy :woohoo:

When do you leave home? Are you doing any Disney before your cruise?
