7th January 2007, Dancing Queens Thread CONTINUED

Morning ladies.

Just wanted to let you know that we got back early this morning (around 1am).

It was a long drive but a quite enjoyable weekend.

I ended up doing most of the driving home since the two guys I was with both can't stay awake past 9 pm :confused3

Rick got a second place finish this weekend but it was very very close between first and second.

Mandy I'm going to check out your trip report later when I'm a little more coherent:lmao:

I think they tried to deliver our cruise documents on Friday but there was no one here, so they are supposed to try again today:woohoo:

My mom seems to be on the road to recovery.

I'm starving so, off to find some breakfast.

Just as I hit reply the doorbell rang and it was the FEDEX guy with our documents:dance3:

Now I'll have something to look at while I have my breakfast.

Mandy, do you have any idea of what movies were playing in the theater when you were onboard the ship?

I'm guessing Wall-E but was wondering what else there was.

Hey Robin

Well done to Rick on getting 2nd place, it sounds like you had fun

 Yay, your docs have come. Not that there's much in them, but it's still great to receive stuff from DCL:banana:

Some of the movies that were being shown in the theatres were -

Wall E
College Road Trip
Swing Vote
The Little Mermaid - Ariel's Beginning
The Chronicles of Narnia - Prince Caspian
National Treasure - Book of Secrets

I hope that helps

Hi Kelly, how are you ? Did you know that the Disney Magic has gone into dry dock ? That's near you isn't it ? Have you made anymore New Year plans ?

I hope that Chad and Carolin are well and settled back into school

Hi Betsy, :wizard: Good Luck at getting what you want to book when the reservation dates open up

What movie did you watch with Mike ? Did you go to the cinema ?

Have a great day girls. I'm staying in the warm as it is horrible and wet outside :)

Sorry I have been MIA alot lately...Its been surprisingly busy here...

But the WDW planning got a little easier..as my friends have decided to go in May..instead of Dec.
(a MUCH better time to go...IMO!)..So we now have alot more time to do the planning....

Mandy,
I watched 27 dresses....and Across the Universe...with Mike the first one was cute...the sec. was OK...strange,:confused3 but OK...I love Beatles music..so...;)

Welcome home Robin...
Glad you got your docs....Lucky girl!:woohoo:
WallE..is a GREAT movie..if you get the chance see it!:thumbsup2

Hey Kelly...
You must be busy too!...:3dglasses

I babysit today...My three eldest DGSs...while the youngers go to the docs, with their mom....

They should be here any min. now....

Better get ready to my munchkins...:teleport:

Thanks for the movie listing Mandy.

Rick and my mom both like to watch movies so I was wondering what might be available while we were onboard.

I'm not so keen on watching movies on the ship, rather be doing something else. But I have watched a few and probably will this time too.

Have fun with the grandsons Betsy.

I'm not sure what the weather has in store for us here today, haven't really looked yet. But I'm hoping for some :sunny: :)

Mandy, I love the pics you posted! I thought the one of the girls on your verandah had the professional backdrop! It looks gorgeous! :thumbsup2 Sorry to hear you won’t be cruising with us… :sad1: I tried Pop Century the other week and the line had a fast busy signal. I’ve been sooo busy with everything that I haven’t tried back yet. I’ll have to give them a call again today. I’ve been reading the TR, keep em coming… I’m getting excited about January!:cool1: Chad and Carolin are doing well, busy with football, soccer and cheerleading tryouts coming up. Tell the girls we said hello!:goodvibes

Robin, have fun doing your doc dance you lucky girl!! :dance3: Glad to hear your mom is feeling better! :wizard: :wizard: 18 days and counting… I’m getting excited for ya! Did you get a lot of rain from Hannah?

P. S. Thanks for the heads up on the Magic in dry dock! I’ll have to sneak over and get a peek at her! :3dglasses

Mandy, I was wondering how many Disney Cruises have you been on now?

Morning Kelly.

Sounds like you have indeed been a busy girl lately.

My life will soon start to slow down since airplane competition season is coming to an end.

This weekend is the last competition and it is here at home, so no running.

Then a weekend off and we are headed for the Disney Wonder :woohoo:

Hey Girls

Robin ~ We have done 7 cruises now. 5 x 3 night cruises and 2 x 4 night cruises. I hope one day we manage to do a 7 nighter :thumbsup2

Oooh, your cruise is so close. You must be so excited. Is this your mum's first Disney Wonder cruise ?

Betsy ~ Have fun with your grandkids today :thumbsup2

Are you planning a trip for yourselves or just for your friends to WDW ?

Kelly ~ Let us know when you get in touch with the Pop Century. It would be great to meet up with you all again

Please take some photos if you manage to go down and see the Disney Magic

Have a lovely afternoon girls :)

Mandy you are catching up to our record of cruises.

This will be our 10th Disney Cruise.

We have also done 4 Royal Carribeans and 1 Carnival Cruise also.

In all of that we have only done one 7 day cruise.

This will be my mom's second cruise, both times on Disney.

The first time we had my dad along and he was just getting to be confused and my mom was afraid to leave him in the room alone for too long so she didn't get to enjoy the night life.

Hopefully this time we will be able to get out and do more things.

Hey ladies,

Mandy I just got done reading your reports....GREAT as always!:thumbsup2

My planning for WDW is just for friends. I probably wont be going again for a couple of years...We are in major savings mode for our trip to Hawaii...
and I thought WDW was an expensive vaca...LOL..

EVERYTHING on the islands are expensive..and they have extra charges on things like a "daily resort fee"...which means they basicly charge you for the parking, morning paper, coffee (in room) shampoo....etc...EVEN if you say you dont need those things..it doesnt matter, You will get charged that fee....Its normally about $20.00 extra a day..on top of your room rate....

and food at the restaurants....appys...$10-$17, entrees, $20-$30(or more),added sides go for $7-10 each..
and if youd like something like lobster..I saw a 1 tail dinner for over $50:scared1: on one of the menus I looked at....:sad2:
Needless to say we will be getting local foods and avoiding the nicer restaruants...for the most part...Soooo glad I LOVE tropical fruit...LOL

The only thing Ive found thats not expensive are the rental cars...:car:

Kelly,
I had to go look at my pictures again to see the webs...They ARE cool!...LOL

Robin,
Im glad you Mom is better, and Im sure you are both getting excited about YOURE cruise.....Not much longer Now!:cool1: :boat:

Well Im off to get ready to go see my mom and bring her, her meds I had to pick up yesterday...:teleport:

Have a good day DQs!:dance3:

Good Afternoon DWDQ's

I've had a nice day. I took the train to Birmingham, to look for some new clothes for my Girly Cardiff Weekend away at the end of the month. I had a nice morning, but I didn't buy anything (typical ;) )

Thanks for taking the time to read my trip reports and leaving your lovely comments. I've finished my last part (from the Hard Rock Hotel), so if you want to take a look, you can find it here http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1948232 I'm glad that's finally finished ::yes::

Wow Betsy, your trip to Hawaii sounds mega-expensive, but I'm sure it will be worth it. It is one place I would love to visit :thumbsup2

Have a great day girls :)

Hi all!!

Mandy, I enjoyed reading your last TR! I didn't know you could get FOTL with a stay at Hard Rock Hotel! Love the pics, looks like you all had a great time despite the weather!:goodvibes

Betsy, no wonder you've gone into supersave-mode! It'll be well worth it though! Those islands look sooo beautiful!

Robin, so this will be your 15th cruise? Wowee!! This will just be our 4th ;) but to me... there is no better way to vacation other than having people wait on ya!:thumbsup2

We paid our final payment yesterday!!:cool1: This time we went from a cat 10 to a cat 8! I can't wait!:yay:

I hope you are all having a great day! Take care!:grouphug:

Good Morning DQs,

Our trip will be more expensive, than WDW, but Ive been reading everything I can get my hands on about saving on the islands....

One great tip, is eat local foods, and save the fancy places for one special dinner...I think this is what we will do..

They have ABC stores all over the place,(inexpensive food stores)...and grills right on most beach/park areas...Im really looking forward to going right to the docks and buying fresh seafood, to grill on the beach, with some good tropical fruit...YUM.

So far the changed plans and the places Id like to try to get into are....
we will now fly directly to Maui, stay 6 nights on the Kaanapali coast(west side)...Hopefully in an ocean front room....at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel (one of the more reasonable priced places)

http://www.kbhmaui.com/video/kbh_video.html

Then take the road to Hana(lots of sights on the way with ALOT of waterfalls:goodvibes ), and stay in a condo there for the last 4 days...(east side, more of a rainforest area)
(alot less expensive, than a hotel/resort)

http://www.hanakaimaui.com/

So we will try to save on the food stuff so we have money for a couple of day tours to Moloka'i, and Lana'i, while on the west side...

If all goes well thats the plan...but we still have a year to go, so it may change from now to then...

But its really fun planning!:cool1:

Well Im off to read Mandys TR, at the HardRock...:surfweb:
I shall return!:teleport:

Morning ladies.

I think I will be away most of the weekend.

The competition is at our home field but the weather looks not so nice for the weekend.

We will probably drag the trailer out there and stay there but not entirely sure.

This should be our last competition for the 2008 season:woohoo:

Those rooms look gorgeous! I love how open they are... and the views are breathtaking! :cloud9:

Hawaii is on my list of "to do" items! Do they make a ticker for a 10 year countdown? :scared:

:rotfl2:

Well I went and did it! It's ashame I waited too long though! We booked Pop Century but can't check in until January 1st. :headache: Oh well! Check in is 7 a.m. and then we're off to the parks for the day!

Back to work so I can earn mucho dinero to pay for our upcoming trip! (Chad & Carolin are taking Spanish this year :goodvibes )

Have a great day gals!:grouphug:

Im on my way out the door to meet Mike and a friend for lunch...
But I wanted to tell you Kelly, that DH, Mike has been teaching himself spanish for 2-3 years now...
he can read the bible in spanish, and he watches the spanish channels on TV...(drives me crazy:scared: )LOL...He talks spanish to me all the time, about 1/3 of the time I actually know what hes talking about...LOL:upsidedow
He really enjoys learning it.....and now has my DGD Brittany taking spanish in school ...its her sec. year...She also really enjoys learning it !...
