I hope you're all doing well

We've finally got some nice weather over here, so fingers crossed I'll be working on my tan this afternoon

Kelly - I'm pleased that you had a great birthday and I hope you get to see the Batman movie this week

Robin - I hope you had a lovely weekend away and that it was nice to catch up with Liz too

Betsy - Let me know if your friend is going on our Cruise. Is she a DISer ? I hope the weather stayed nice so you could get to the zoo

Thanks ...I just googled "animated Happy Birthday"...and there it was..perfect!...Mickey Just right...Glad you enjoyed it too!

CW worked his backside off trying to get our pond finished! He worked the whole weekend on it!
Too bad about the movie...
How big is your pond going to be?...Is it going to be a swimming pond?...or just a fish/lillypond?....If its going to be a swimming pond...take my advice...DONT put ANY lillys in it..unless you use containers...They WILL spred all over and no one will want to swim in it anymore ..EVEN if the lillies have cute tiny little pads... ...They WILL get bigger...
As you can probably guess...This is the BIG mistake I made....we have been taken over by them..and no one (not even me) will swim in my pond anymore..
The lillies are very pretty tho...
To you Betsy on having a beautiful day at the zoo! Hope you guys have fun!!

We had a great time..Kateri is sooooooooo cute....and it didnt rain until we were on our way home...There is a marry-go-round..at our zoo..( I rode it when I was little, as did my boys)..they ask for a piece of litter to get on it...
Kateri has never been on one before, so we went on it just before we left..It was the altimate sacrifice on my part, as I DONT do things that do go around and around...But being the good GMa that I am we went on it and she just loved it to bits....
To bad on the way home, in the car, she threw up...all over herself....
It was soo funny..(poor thing)..Im driving along and I hear what I thought was a burp....So I look back and theres Kateri, with a lap full...she looks down in her lap, and then looks up at me...and says..."I Poooooouuuk, nana.."
Thank god I had a bottle of water and a roll of paper towles in the car from another day trip...It must have been the ride, as she was fine after we cleaned her up... Although she rode the rest of the way home in her undies....LOL

Did ya get your nice tan?....I cant lay out like that to get a tan...I get too antsie, and think of all the things I should be doing...I dont last more then 10 mins..anymore..when I was younger I could ...alllllll dayyyyy!

My friends are not DISers, Mike use to work with the husband, ( he just got laid off, a few months back), they are going with there 10YO? son, for an Ann. trip...Very nice people....
Ill have to get their dates again...If its not the same one your going on ..it the one just before or after....
I'll be home most of today, I have to go see my mom later, other then that I guess I'll be doing laundry ...FUN!

Good luck on your tan! I need to get out there myself to fill in those odd tan lines. I’ve got a horrible farmer’s tan!!

How big is your pond going to be?...Is it going to be a swimming pond?...or just a fish/lillypond?....

It’s about 12 x 15 feet I think…and we’re making it into a fish pond. I’ll be glad when it’s done… we have a few more plants to put in and then we’ll throw down mulch. After a couple of weeks, I’ll be able to put my koi in! I'll post some pics tomorrow!

Hi all.

I did return from my great journey safely.

We had a nice time although Liz was sick with a cold when I picked her up.

She was much better by the time I dropped her back off though

I've been spending the morning trying to get info for Alex on a Disney vacation.

The Disney website is the PITS when it comes to trying to get information.

It is so sllllllllllllllooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwww, it's not even funny

Kelly, looking forward to seeing those pond pictures.

I have a pond but it's an itty bitty one, about 9 by 5 feet or so.

Betsy, poor Kateri.

Good thing she had fun before the car ride home though.

Well, I've got a cat to take to the vet this afternoon for her annual shots.

He was looking to actually book a trip, so we were trying to get prices on the website.

He did manage to get it all booked.

We did the flights yesterday and he called today to book his room.

He is staying at the POP Century.

Got a really good price of $65.00 a night

Going from Aug 19 to 24th.

Short but sweet, hopefully.

We had rainy today too.

Betsy - I haven't got Myspace, and just as well, as I never have enough time for the DIS let alone anything else - have fun with it

Well my poor mum was due to have her cast taken off today, and she was planning on hitting the shops tomorrow. So the cast was removed, then they put a new cast on and said it has to stay on for a MONTH !! She's really fed up of being stuck at home now - poor thing

Im soo sorry to hear your mom has to wear that darn cast another month...It has got to be a real pain...especially in the summer..
Heres to her.. and I hope this month goes fast for her...

I want to put more/bigger koi in my pond...I hear they are great on algae..Our pond is spring fed, but doesnt run fast enough to keep algae away...So in the spring, and sometimes in the sumer, when we dont get alot of rain..we get a layer on top of the water..it looks awful...I have put a couple of koi in already, but they were small and our pond is big, and 12 feet deep in the middle, So I havent seen them since Ive put them in...We also have 12-16 inch large mouth bass, along with sunnys, and blue gill...But they dont touch the algae...
and then there is the muskrat we have been fighting with..who is making huge holes and runs in my yard around the pond...FUN!

Well its my Thurs. so I better get a move on.....I still havent made it to the shower yet.....

I've not really got a lot planned for today.

I need to get some laundry done before Alex heads back to camp tomorrow.

I probably will go to work at some point.

Yesterday I was a machinist

They needed an extra person to help out at the shop, so I was elected.

Now I need to finish my own paper work today.

Other than that, I'm sure that I will find something to fill the hours with.

Happy birthday Betsy!! Hope you're having a good one! I left a reply on your birthday wishes thread!! P. S... good luck with your koi! We bought some shubunkins and comets yesterday to add to our pond. I've named half of them already... CW says that's bad luck.

We've got Hokie, Creamsicle, Nibbler... the other three I figured I'd wait until Chad get's home to name.

I don't think I've ever tried Indian food! Maybe one day I'll stop in one of the restaurants up the road. I'm scared it's not going to agree with me... My heartburn flares up too easy... and I always think of that movie "Along came Polly" with Ben Stiller.

Well... yesterday we dropped Chad off at ODU soccer camp! CW suprised me and took Carolin and I to see The Dark Night. And boy... was it worth it! I loved, loved, loved Heath Ledger playing the Joker. He has a very skin-crawling, creepy laugh! I will be extremely suprised if he doesn't receive an Oscar for his performance!

Looks like we will be finishing up our pond this weekend... (fingers-crossed ) and picking Chad back up on Sunday! I already miss him!

Good morning ladies.

This weekend is a home weekend.

Although we have to go out to the local provincial park on Lake Erie to pickup our trailer.

Rick took it out on Monday night for his parents to stay in for a few nights.

Other than that I have no concrete plans for the weekend.

I'll just have to wait and see what comes up.

It looks a bit like rain outside this morning but hopefully it will clear. Yesterday was a gorgeous day. I got my lawn mowed and a bunch of weeding done

Thanks everyone for all the Birthday wishes...

I had a great day,...The weather was perfect...

Mike took the day off and we went shopping, had lunch at the Red Lobster, and then later, the family came over for pizza, and we had cake and ice cream..

Albert gave me a Wii game for my birthday..( he's such a thoughful dog...LOL)
Mike was going to get me either a SLR digital camera, or a DVHD video camera...He asked me, which Id like. Im leaning toward the video camera, but I really dont need it until we go to hawaii, so I figure I should wait, as that trip isnt until sept. 09 and they may come out with something better before then
So Im thinking to just sock that money away until I need it...

I received a nice necklace( a silver circle, with mickey ears silhouette peeking out over the edge of the inside) from my DSis, and a very pretty indian ceremonial horse sculpture, from my other DSis ( she from Arizona ).
and I also received a beautiful butterfly bush to plant in the yard..and LOTS of homemade cards from the DGKs....

It was a very nice day

Not sure what we are doing today....
How about you all?....

Well for now Im off to grab another cup of coffee

Paul & I had a nice evening with our friends at our local Indian restaurant. The food is soooo good there and it was great to catch up with our friends

It looks like we've got another nice day over here today, so my plan is to sunbathe for a few hours and make a start on my tan before we go away (there's nothing worse than looking pasty in Orlando )
