LOL ~ I can't believe that they haven't decayed

No, we're no fully packed yet, we're about 90% ready, but I think there'll be a mad rush tomorrow morning, and then we'll be ready

Actually I keep most of my salt and pepper shaker collection in my china cabinet

I swear the McDonald's fry looks like you could eat it.

They are hard on the outside, don't bend at all and I don't want to bend them too much and break them.

I'm not done playing with them yet

Robin, thanks for letting me in on your fry experiment!! I'm glad I ate my fries from McDonald's before seeing what an almost 2 y/o french fry looks like

Should I have sent along some hangover remedy medicine along with the arcade card?

Well our bags are all packed and ready to be put in the car. We're just waiting for Paul to get back from work ~ and then we'll be off

We're taking the laptop with us, so I may drop in and say 'hi' (if the girls can get off MSN long enough)

In fact we haven't had much rain at all for quite some time.

I haven't had to mow the lawn in about a month.

There is a model airplane competition here in our city this weekend, so that will be keeping Rick busy all weekend.

Robin, we have the last two soccer games (finally ) Now we can take a break for a month After the games, all of the boys from the team are going to catch a movie at the mall.

Carolin has cut her long hair I should have taken my camera for before and after shots... but I thought she was only getting a trim

It makes her look like she is 15 y/o instead of 12 But it does look cute! I'll have to post a picture she took a couple of days again and a newer picture over the weekend!

How nice not having to cut grass up your way that much, lucky duck! Have fun in whatever you do this weekend!

I'd love to see Carolin's new hairstyle.

It's quite surprising how a little thing like a haircut can totally change someone's looks, isn't it.

I've been working on cleaning up the garage and getting rid of some weeds in the yard, this past week.

It's all starting to look better.

I just love to stand back and look at what I've accomplished.

Unfortunately I'm not smart enough to keep it looking that way for very long

Morning everyone.

Kinda dreary, rainy looking but still dry.

Of course being the weekend there are tons of special events going on that would rather it did not rain today

I had kind of a restless night and I'm tired this morning.

I was lying in bed, trying to go to sleep and I got this pain, from my neck down to my bottom on the left side (back, not front). I couldn't lay on my left side (my favourite).

Must have been some sort of muscle spasm because it's okay today but I'm still moving carefully just in case.

Spent the afternoon out at the airport for the model airplane thingy here.

It was extremely windy and it sort of drizzled at times.

Not the best weather for that type of event.

Good morning all.

I've got to get dressed soon since we are going out for brunch

Then I'm going to see my dad at the nursing home. Maybe I will take him out for the first time since he's been there.

I don't know how he will react but I'm thinking of giving it a try.

That's the only way to see if it will be possible to take him out again.

He has Alzheimer's and might now appreciate being taken away from his "safe" area.

I just wanted to tell you that taking my dad out was a success.

We went for a short drive around town and drove thru McDonald's for ice cream.

Then we went back to the nursing home. He asked if we were visiting someone in the "hospital" I told him we were going to have a drink and a walk in the garden.

We stopped at the pop machine and got a drink and then went out in the garden.

He recognized it as "home" .

He got a bit confused after we got back onto his floor and into his room.

He was suddenly very tired and wanted to lie down on his bed.

We just let him lay down and told him to have a nap before dinner and we left.

I think overall the day out went well.

Yeah for Robin!! Glad taking your dad out was a success!! He is very blessed to have a daughter like you!

Sorry to hear you had trouble with your back the other nite! At least it didn't stick around too long, maybe it was from all of the cleaning up you did!

I'm guilty as well for letting something get out of hand before tackling it. Our flower bed had gotten so overgrown with weeds that at one point we were considering mowing it

We all got outside and weeded all day a couple of Sundays ago, finally we got to lay the mulch down and it looks 100 times better. I should have videotaped us working and how dirty we looked so it won't happen again!

Yeah, Kelly I actually DID mow over some flower beds

They were beds that my daughter wanted a few years back and then never maintained past the first year

I always love the way it looks when everything is nice and neat and clean.

Unfortunately I don't love it enough to keep it up properly

How is your day today? Anything interesting?

Chad is leaving on Sunday to attend a soccer camp at a university a couple hours away from here. I'm not looking forward to it, I am so paranoid This will be the first time he's been gone from home for more than two days.

He's trying to help me calm down and tells me to "chill out, everything will be ok"!

I guess he's right
