I have read that DCL surpasses the others with their cleanliness and customer service.

What other differences have you noticed? Sodas aren't free anywhere on the ship, right?

No free sodas on Royal Caribbean

You have to buy a soda package and it entitles you to unlimited "fountain" sodas (no cans) and a few types of juices. No free sodas in the dining rooms either.

Nobody does a sail away party like Disney does Royal Caribbean has a sailaway party but it is very very low key, not the excitement builder that Disney has.

You eat in the same dining room at the same table everynight. We found the servers are not as personable as the Disney servers (at least the ones that we have had). By the end of my week on the Royal Caribbean I was so glad to be getting away from my dining room servers. They were beginning to wear on my nerves.

The little touches are not the same as on Disney.

Again, I would sail on Royal Caribbean again without a problem but I go with the expectation that it will most likely not be up to Disney standards.

Woohoo !! It's the weekend again. Have you got anything nice planned ?

Tomorrow night the girls are off to a sleepover so Paul & I are going to see Die Hard 4.0, we love all the Die Hard movies, so I hope this one is just as good. Has anyone seen it yet ?

Robin, I won't go in with DCL expectations... that's for sure You'll have to keep me posted about anything new you can think of for the RCCL. I just don't want to look like an idiot doing something Disney allows and they don't.

Mandy, CW wants to see the new Die Hard! He loves those movies too! You'll have to let us know how he liked it Mom, dad and myself are leaving in the morning to go to my great uncle's memorial. He was a very smart man... has alot of patents! I'm going to start looking them up!

Hello girls,
Sorry I have been kind of scarce lately...Just get busy I guess....

BUT...I DO have some wildlife photos that I have taken this past week in my yard...

This is the Great Blue Heron that comes and fishes in our pond ...He is alot of fun to watch...Mike and I have seen him not only catch fish...but he has gotten rodents too!...Not sure what ..but they looked bigger then mice...

Here is a few pics of deer, we get quite a few of them...

This is the first time I have seen one eat lilies out of the pond ..It really seemed to enjoy them too!...

and the next post will be another visiter that we got pics of just this morning(5:45AM) Albert started going nuts barking ....

This guy is alot smaller then the others we have seen here...But cool at any rate...

He hung around, even with Albert barking..

Then he started going after some of my feeders...So Mike scared him off...wasnt hard..all he said was "Hey"..out the window and that poor guy took off....They sure know the differance between a dog bark and a human voice....

I hope you've all had a great weekend, I'm shattered this morning as I've been washing and ironing and cleaning up for most of the weekend

Well we're nearly all packed, as we leave for the airport on Thursday (as we're staying over for the night) and we're flying to Orlando on Friday. We've decided that we're going to go to Cocoa Beach on Sunday to see the Disney Wonder sail, then the next time we see her, we'll be getting on

Robin... french fry photos??? Do tell..... Has it cooled down any in your area? I met a very nice family (an aunt and neice) from Toronto on Saturday. They were very easy to talk to and so funny! Must be something in the water up that way, you guys are great!

Mandy...glad you guys enjoyed Die Hard! CW is really looking forward to watching it, I told him how much you enjoyed it! I was really worried that card wouldn't make it! That was pretty quick, hope the girls can use it!

Mandy, I have no special occasions to drink to, so pick another day and have a Diet Coke for me

I'd prefer a Diet Pepsi, but since that won't be happening I'll settle for the Diet Coke.

Okay anybody want to see an experiment that I have been conducting?

Here is a picture of three french fries.

They came from 3 local fast food restaurants, Burger King, Wendy and McDonald's, in that order from top to bottom.

I have had these french fries in my possession since early September of 2005

The Mcdonald's one looks like it was just made fresh today

I don't think these things will ever decompose

These french fries were kept at room temperature just sitting out in my china cabinet for the past 1 year and 10 months.

There is not one bit of mold or decay on those things

The top fry has a black number 1 (looks like a black line or spot). I did that with a sharpie so that I knew which fry came from which fast food place.
